For those of you having trouble following the steps. I'd recommend .75x speed (found under the settings on the video) for an easier and still clearly understandable video.
I use this tie every day, but maybe a little less than half the time, by mid-day, the knot has like... rotated. The smaller tail of the tie doesn't neatly sit behind the larger tail the way it's supposed to. Looks fine when I tie it and for a few hours afterwards, but it slowly creeps out over time, and I find that the larger tail is not centered in the knot any longer. I pulled up this video to see if I'm doing something wrong, but I can't identify any differences between what I'm doing and what's shown in the video. Any ideas?
Chris Vater the video is made to be as if you were starring at a mirror. You should be able to start on the left too, though. You just have to flip all the directions the opposite way.
IMHO, any tie knot looks better with a dimple. BTW, depending on what type of knot I tie (I base it usually off the type of collar [for instance, for a spread collar, I use a Windsor]), I reach down along the wide end([in my case, along my right side using my right hand) to a pre-tested length, so the tie is always the right length. So, for instance, with a 4-in-1, I reach down and adjust until the untied tie is to the middle knuckle line of my middle finger, right hand. Then I knot it. For other knots, I vary it. Makes it really easy to alway have the tie end land a touch below the top of my belt.
Quick tip before you tighten your knot to your neck lift it up to your neck. Check the length. If it's good tighten up and you're good to go. A little short and you can tighten the knot a little. Way off? Just start over.
Realy don't like this knot . it is the knot I used as an 11 year old school boy, I would hope I have learn't something since then! I much prefer the half windsor these days
It's just easily the best four-in-hand knot tutorial I've used, thank you so much!
This is the knot my mom taught me and this is how I’ve tied my tie ever since.

Thanks for that. I was having trouble. Which is funny cause I'm 34 and I've never worn a tie before
I'd like a tutorial on how you combine your outfit, I really like the combinations you use!
You just helped a 25 year-old tie (ya, I know...) tie his first knot within 5 minutes. Thank you!
Thank you! The keeper loop step was really helpful
Thx for helping , well explained
You helped me tie my dads tie for my cousins wedding which is in 3 hours. Thank you so much!!!!!!
I have found these instructions very simple and well made.
Thanks.

Maybe retie it after lunch…?😊
thanks bro
A savior
Does it matter whether the wide end is on the right or left? Your instructions denote right, but the video shows left.

Ties.com® Thanks for the quick reply!
Nope it dont matter, I do the other way around
Curious to what is the length of the tie used here?
Just a standard length tie. Ours at ties.com are 58" long
It is worth noting that this video shows how to tie a Half Windsor knot. A Full Windsor knot is tied a little bit different.

Good video, except it's backwards...left is right and right is left.
Thanks dad
What is the tie at 0:10?

i wish you did it from your perspective... as "right" is right looking at you... but doing it while listening... it is my left. Great content though
I am a half windsor fan myself. I use four in one for fat or wool ties only
4 Basic Patterns to tie the 4 in hand:
1. X
2. Behind
3. Across
4. Out
You forget how to make a nimple. Very important
Instructions unclear I made a bow tie
Ties willl lot always be too long on ur because I am a teenage girl with a short torso
That's it?! If you can't do this you might as well be in cave and just stay there
Looks like im going to cave
Who TF wants an asymmetrical knot? 🗑️
James Bond.

NO ONE CARES
@@professionalpookieu cared enough to comment. Shut the fuuuuck up 🤣🤣🤣
Same but every time I tie a full Windsor it’s always too short and my big belly makes it look ridiculous

This knot is purposely crooked? No sir can't go with this.
