I lost my 12 year old son to suicide. Too young, too soon is so true. I never asked God why. I know my son is His and my beautiful Jacob was gifted to me for 12 years. Through his suicide and our testimony, many names were written in the Lamb's Book of Life. His death was not in vain. Thank you for writing this song 💙
I feel the same way. Sorry for your loss. I lost my only son to suicide when he was 18. That was more than 17 years ago. God has healed my heart and given me a peace that passes all understanding. I miss him often, but I can rest in knowing I will see him again some day. Be blessed my sister!

My son's girlfriend committed suicide 2 weeks ago and this song really hit me. My son was the only only one who tried to help her. Her family wouldn't listen and get her help.....too young, too soon. Rest in peace Senia til I see you again

So very sorry for your loss and the pain this has brought to your son & you. Heartbreaking when it doesn't have to end in such tragedy. Thankful your son tried to help her. Our own loved ones can hurt us the most by not understanding or caring. I experience that going through brain cancer as my own daughter is self absorbed in her own cares. My prognosis may be suddenly worsening but she has no time to talk or help take me to my appointments. My faith remains fully in God, He's never once left me or not provided for me.
I pray your son & you are comforted in days & months ahead. Read Psalm 91.

I’ve never personally been touched by such a tragic loss, and I pray I don’t ever have to. But through this song, I feel as if I was. So sad that Sam felt there was no other option. When I was 13, a 7th grader I experienced the darkest side of our world! After a suicidal threat I was placed on a psychiatric hold and put in an intensive treatment program for two weeks! In the hospital was my Blue Couch Moment. I got violently sick and was put on a Quarantine for 24 hours. I looked up and said, "Jesus be my savior!" My heart broke in half! A few days later, after an incident on the ward that scared me I went to my room and got on my face and I gave up control over my destiny. No matter how bad it gets, I will NEVER slam the book God is writing! I have not been back to the hospital in 11 years and in fact I have been off of medications for four years! I recently discovered The Matthew West Podcast and the story behind this song! I am 18 episodes into Season 1 and I enjoy it so much! We listened to it on our road trip! You're so entertaining and I love the Dad-Vice segment!

I just lost my 13 year old daughter to suicide in December of 2022 and it hurts so bad. Everyday is a battle to not cry and scream and be angry. She was so amazing and I miss her everyday. She was so bright and so beautiful. She was everyones friend and was always the person that people could count on. I can’t imagine how your daughter feels . I lost a friend too young six years ago to brain cancer/tumor. He was 31 years old soon to be 32 and a newlywed of two years. I lost my faith afterwards, couldn’t read the Bible or listen to worship music. I slowly started the healing process three years later. This year the different anniversaries are on the same exact days as they happened six years ago. Two have past so far there are nine all together. Hang in there lulu . It will get better as time goes by. Our friends are in heaven with Jesus and we will all be reunited one day. Stay strong, stay humble. You have a strong soport system around you. Never give up sweety:) ❤️🙏🏼😇

Suicide can be prevented by just simply reaching out to someone. Let someone know that they are loved, Let someone know that they MATTER!! September is Suicide Awareness Month and this month is nearly over but Suicide Awareness doesn't need to be just for September it's gotta be year round.

My son tried to commit suicide after loosing his baby daughter and then his wife asking for a divorce. Thank God someone found him before he could do it. That was a year ago and we are taking one day at a time.

Rick Warren lost his son to suicide and depression, even though he was surrounded by loving family and friends. Please don’t make the wrong assumptions that no one reached out. I lost a family member to depression/suicide. I asked God many times why. The only reason I can think of is the society pressure to succeed or to be a certain way that causes people to feel depress about not fitting in.
