- Hey Everyone! In this fun video I go into detail and give you measurments as to why I have my Scroll Saw at such an angle as I have it. The name of the game here is Comfort and I can easily sit at my set up for hours on end and scroll the day away in comfort. Hope you all like the video!

I found scroll saw ergonomics is critical sitting a long time in front without hurting my back. Great video, thank you. I saw a comment that the height of the saw should be designed to about the sitting distance of one's elbows to the ground.

Thanks for another great video. You are always quite thorough and specific. My issue in scrolling is more with aging eyesight than tilting the saw. Your young eyes allow you to maintain a comfortable distance from the workpiece and scroll away. I find that I need more light and often have to adjust where I position my eyes to see the lines clearly. However, I still enjoy the process and take breaks when I need to. Blessings, Glen
Sorry that you are having problems Glen, Have you tried printing out patterns in another color to where your cut line is not the same black as the scroll saw blade? This may help.
@@ArtisanPirate Thanks. Seeing the line is no problem; keeping it in focus with my compromised vision is the problem. I'm 75 and wear multi-focal contact lenses, so my eyes sometime fight for dominance. Once I have cataract surgery at some point in the future, I will get glasses specifically set for the focal length I need for scrolling. In the meantime I will simply enjoy scrolling and other aspects of woodworking. Blessings, Glen
Whole-heartedly agree. My scroll saw is on a stand, but I have it tilted on blocks of wood. I like to look down at my table to see exactly where my blade is at, and having it angled really helps out with the stiff neck and shoulders.

Tilting is the key to comfort...I agree. Sometimes I sit and sometimes I stand. I too can position my foot switch on two different levels. Plus I can raise and lower my stool. Having an angle really helps my back and shoulders. Especially now that I'm 70! Very sound advice Tyler! Take care!

Thank you so much for the kind words! And I have an older gopro, I originally wanted my channel to be about theme parks and traveling and the gopro was the obvious choice then, What I film my videos with is a Sony HDRCX240/L Digital Camcorder, with 2.7" LCD flip around screen.
This makes me wonder if a video of me showing off my "RUclips" Filming Equipment would be a good idea?
Good video, and I agree with tilting. My DeWalt and has three positions. Being new to scrolling I started flat but soon started tilting one step at a time. Good advice to those starting out. I’m still not as relaxed as I want but eye sight distance effects me as much as the tilt. I find myself hunched over somewhat due to that. I see that’s not a problem for you.

I Love it! As soon as I got it I took it apart and properly greased the bearings and properly secured the screws holding the motor in place. This is the workhorse of the workshop!
