Well if you have something big impaled in you you leave it in. Whatever you are unpaid on is preventing you from losing a lot of blood. If it's blocking an artery and you take it out you'll blood really fast. So remember if you are impaled on something you leave it in.
Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. Also, if you've been through some injuries in your life you learn how to stay calm and relaxed so you don't accidentally make it worse.
your body goes into fight or flight mode and the adrenaline stops you from feeling pain. it's only when the endorphins wear off and things calm down that you feel pain. we've seen soldiers get shot with a 5.56 in iraq and just keep fighting the americans,it'd punch a hole the size of a pencil thru them and they wouldn't even feel it.

Had paramedics at first aid couses for red cross volunteers, at least there, everyone loves them :) Also had a full doc working on ambulance. these have full paramedic + emergency experience. I do not know how it works in other countries, but mine has docs in ambulances too.
Forget the praise....they need to be paid more. How are they charging so much for an ambulance ride, and yet a paramedic makes an average of $17/hr (at least here in Florida)?

In a series they would cut the hook as close as possible to the body even though it is only resting on the shelf and you can move the person without so much problem and they would use the larger saw that is definitely not made to cut steel.
Did you guys hear the story of the paramedic newbie who pulled the knife out of the wound, got freaked out (because you’re not supposed to pull anything out obviously) & then put the knife back in. Dude died & the paramedic was charged with his death. Lesson learned. Never pull anything out but definitely never put it back in again 😅
