Good job, Melissa - you left it all out there and nobody can take that away from you! Fall fishing can be a challenge but I applaud your tenacity. I always enjoy your videos and I like to see how you try different approaches.
Melissa you have been a great inspiration for beginner anglers! Understanding even through the toughest days you never give up you’re always learning and spending time on the water is critical to that! Thank you so much for bringing us along appreciate your video content you are always bringing your best don’t let this experience bring you down but use it as a teaching and learning experience! Can’t wait to see what you do next year I’ve been watching RUclipsrs point of view of fishing during the different seasons and what to expect when fishing! Thank you so much tight lines take care and God bless!❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the kind words! While I'm not happy with the results, I really don't know what I could have done differently other than choosing a different area to fish so that means next season I am going to put more priority on pre-fishing now that I have working electronics and hopefully that will help get me to more productive areas for next season.
Great video! You did a good job of showing just how tough tournament fishing can be for us less experienced anglers. It's gonna be so cool watching you get your first win! Almost as cool as when I get my first win 😂 Tight lines!!
Thank you! Let's get those wins! I still feel like a "less experienced angler" myself! I didn't fish until I was almost 40, so despite getting out as much as I can now I often feel frantic that I will never catch up to the others. But I'm still hoping that it turns out fishing is one of those things you can catch up with hard work!
Thanks! It was really fun to be leading for the first couple of hours and that makes me want to feel that more (and less of that feeling when you catch nothing!). See you out there next season!
You must've been following my cues at 11:01. On day two I think I'd have gone back to the water lilly's and gone small with, say, a Texas-rigged creature bait or crawdad and fished r e a l l y, painfully slowly. If the bass were there on the first day, they were prolly still there on day 2. Just harder to get a bite. As always, enjoyed watching your video. Keep pluggin' away!
What really drives me crazy is after talking to the other anglers, on day 1 their afternoon chatterbait bite picked up and on day 2 the moving bait bite was still better. And I was doing exactly what you suggested, going slower and smaller because I was struggling to get a bite so you downsize, right? Apparently I should have just kept the chatterbait in my hand and stayed more main lake.
@@GirlGoneFishing I’ve had 2 outbacks and by far my favorite SUV and although it’s a modern wagon that just means there’s more space to throw in my gear. Tight lines!🎣
Ski Season! So cool to hear you like skiing also. Have been enjoying watching you kayak and fish. Looking out on a snowy "mountainside" today and was thinking if I'll fish one more time tomorrow from shore even though I love to be on my boat also. It's snowing lightly and plan to ski my first day next weekend 8)
@@cannedlaughter2535Where I live I've read/seen on youtube that the Macks/Lakers can be closer to shore and surface this time of year. I've never caught one, so would be fun! I want to give GirlGoneFishing huge props, cause I questioned my sanity last time we had to remove ice from our paddles then kayak out in winter gear in June high in the mountains at dawn (plus we only have Pelicans at this point which are nowhere near as stable as that Lynx appears). But GGF has that comfy hat and all the warm gear ready to chase fish like it's short sleeves summertime! Plus if you are patient enough to teach people how to ski; that's not something this bad sherpa is capable of too busy passionately chasing powder 8)
Hi! Yes I love to ski and have been teaching for a few decades at a little area right at the intersection of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky with 400 vertical. It is small but mighty and we teach a huge number of beginners and now that I have my PSIA Level 2 Alpine Certification I have enjoyed mixing in some advanced lessons, but I really love getting people through that awful first day so they will fall in love and come back!
Well done on keep on trying On my lynx I have used the Berley Pro lynx transducer mount and have it mounted underneath. It may not like the dragging you do at the ramps but. Keep on trying
Does your side and down imaging work with the transducer mounted under the Lynx? I was under the impression one of the two wouldn't be effective mounted like that and that it would work better with the over-the-side transducer mount. How do you avoid dragging at ramps? I have to tip it over to get the cart in, and I can't tip it until it is clear of the water or the stuff that falls off when I tip it might be gone, so as far as I can tell I have to drag it clear of the waterline at the ramp.
@GirlGoneFishing I found your FB I will send some pictures tomorrow after work of the transducer mount and pictures of my sounder. But it is on Australian bass.
hey listen way to thug it out and get that catch and the bite you missed lol i’m glad you got the tug that was a TOUGH day that’s where all the experience points accumulate tho please do a few fun fishing videos even some from the bank when it’s too cold to mess with a yak
Great video here watching from Columbus Ohio
Thanks!

Thanks! I was saying not nice things in my head by day 2 of this one though! 🤣

Great season and way to make it to the TOC. Even though you didn’t have the best day, fishing against the best anglers is a great learning experience

Lynx and a Subaru Outback! Love the both of mine! Sorry to see the tournament not go as you wanted but you did get some nice ones on the first day🎣

That fuzzy hat is so ridiculously warm it will give you heat stroke if you wear it while work hard but it sure makes those cold mornings easier to do!

Do you know where you finished overall for the season? A slight improvement each year is going in the right direction. Good Luck next season.
Not sure exactly where I finished in the AOY, but it was definitely my best season so far even though I was pretty middle-of-the-pack on average.
@@GirlGoneFishing If it was your Best season your improving 😊😊😊😊😊
