Before Kmer era, there were two Kingdoms in Thai area (use to call Suvanabhum area) one was Tavarawadee - in the western and lower northern part of Thailand and Srivitjaya in the sounthern part of Thailand. Also had a small kingdom in the northern part of Thailand call Haripunchai (now is Lampun province). In that era the middle part of Thailand still was the sea (Ayutaya and Bangkok still did not exist in that era), so upper Kmer kingdom (in the lower part of North-eastern of Thailand) did not invaded to Tavarawadee kingdom.

Thailand is often perceived as a country synonymous with the freedom of prostitution, cannabis, and the AIDS epidemic.
1 Culture: Thai culture is heavily influenced by the Khmer. Historically, the Thais were a migrating tribe from southern China, so their culture naturally aligns with Khmer and Myanmar traditions. If you want to see their original culture, visit the Northwestern regions of Vietnam.
2 Attire: Khmer people in Surin, Issan (Thailand), Cambodia, and Khmer Krom (Vietnam) share similar, resplendent traditional clothing, despite being in different countries. Conversely, Thai attire varies significantly across regions. This raises the question: Is contemporary Thai clothing genuinely original or a Khmer imitation? I believe it largely borrows from Khmer traditions.
3 Cuisine: In Vietnam's Mekong Delta, many delicious dishes originate from the Khmer people, and we respect this by using their names. However, Thailand tweaks these dishes slightly, renames them, and claims them as their own, which is quite laughable.
4 Foreign Deaths: Thailand often handles cases of foreigner deaths superficially, without due seriousness (e.g., a Chinese girl and later Vietnamese citizens). They sanitize the media and whitewash their citizens' actions, keeping Thais oblivious, all to maintain a pristine image to attract tourists.
5 Ancestry and Origin: Most Thai citizens carry Khmer or Chinese blood, yet they are brainwashed with false information, forgetting their true origins. This leads them to harshly criticize Chinese and Khmer people, unknowingly insulting their own ancestors. In Vietnam, with 54 ethnic groups, we clearly document our ethnic origins, ensuring respect for all cultures.
6 Arrogance: Many Thais consider themselves superior, central to tourism, and the epitome of cleanliness. They rarely engage with international scientific literature and dismiss the rich cultures of Myanmar and the Khmer. They forget that their own heritage traces back to southern China, devoid of any true Southeast Asian culture.
7 Healthcare: Thailand's healthcare system is often touted as advanced, yet it frequently fails to meet basic standards for its own citizens, let alone foreigners. This discrepancy between perception and reality is a glaring issue that needs addressing.
8 Environmental Concerns: While Thailand promotes itself as a paradise, its environmental practices tell a different story. Rampant pollution, unchecked deforestation, and poor waste management paint a grim picture, contradicting the idyllic image presented to tourists.
9 Political Stability: Thailand’s political landscape is marked by frequent turmoil and unrest. Despite projecting an image of stability, the reality is fraught with corruption, coups, and authoritarian practices that undermine true democratic values.
10 Economic Inequality: The stark divide between the rich and poor in Thailand is often glossed over in favor of a more glamorous portrayal. The economic disparity is severe, with many citizens living in poverty while a privileged few enjoy immense wealth and influence.
I do not advocate for any country or ethnicity. What I present here is information and diverse perspectives. I hope you will receive it with an open mind and read more international articles. From my cursory review, I mostly see Thai comments that glorify themselves and belittle others. This only proves a lack of manners and cultural awareness.

Originally, Thai ( Siamese) is the tribe come from China and adopted Chinese culture. But around 11th century they started immigrating from Yunan to live in Khmer land and followed Khmer culture. Now thai always claim everything of Khmer by not being ashamed.
Not all Thais come from China. There are about 20 million Thais of Chinese descent, but the total Thai population is 70 million. Another 50 million people have no Chinese descent, but they have lived in that area before. Cambodia was ruled by Siam for 417 years after the Angkor era, so it was influenced by Siam in every way. Cambodia lost almost all of its culture when there was a genocide.

Thais teach Khmers to count and calculate. If you don't believe me, try counting 1-20, 20-100. Khmers can only count in the units digit. Other than that, they pronounce the numbers in the Thai way.
During the Ming Dynasty, Chinese ambassador came to Ayutthaya (Siam) and Angkor (Cambodia) and recorded the costumes and architecture of Siam and Angkor in the form of paintings. There is evidence of this at the Yuejiang Tower in China. If you don't believe me, try searching on Google with the words "Yuejiang Tower, Nanjing - 2008 - Hello, China!"
