After 14 years of marriage and double dating with my husbands coworker and her husband - same thing happened to me. I found out they would disappear on work trips and sleep together. It’s really haunting when you know the other woman and she has been kind to your face. It takes a long time to rebuild but time does heal. These cheaters don’t understand that the excitement goes away and you end up at the same crossroad of life. It’s not about you it’s something inside the person who can’t maintain an honest long term relationship even at the expense of your children you made together. They repeat the same lust cycle over and over. …it is something inside that has to be fixed. I briefly dated TJ in Jr. High School in West Memphis, Arkansas. He saw my friend Shirl behind my back. His dad built a wedge between us, even in High School. So him being unfaithful is not a surprise to me at all. I am glad his father kept us apart. Evidently he knew his son was a player and knew I was good girl who shouldn't be toyed or played with. Whatever the reason he kept us apart, I am truly grateful because he kept me from getting treated wrong and cheated on.

After 14 years of marriage and double dating with my husbands coworker and her husband - same thing happened to me. I found out they would disappear on work trips and sleep together. It’s really haunting when you know the other woman and she has been kind to your face. It takes a long time to rebuild but time does heal. These cheaters don’t understand that the excitement goes away and you end up at the same crossroad of life. It’s not about you it’s something inside the person who can’t maintain an honest long term relationship even at the expense of your children you made together. They repeat the same lust cycle over and over. …it is something inside that has to be fixed. But they have to figure it out on their own and all you can do is damage control with yourself & your children. Best thing to do is let them go and make a step forward in to your own future and forgiveness. Because bitter and resentment will be your own downfall. This story hits home but I am stronger and wiser. I wish the best to their exes and children.

This is why someone said that if a person's desire for self-gratification is higher than their need for intimacy, cheating is likely. You see stats like 80% of people would cheat if they could guarantee their partner wouldn't find out. Then you see most affairs occur at the work place in research, not just polls. I'm not going to get mad at either betrayed spouses because no matter their reasons they only positioned themselves to be hurt, not anyone else, unlike the unfaithful. We can try and do everything right and still if someone is in a privileged position in your life and cares less about your safety or wants to hurt you, they will. I blame people that take advantage of others not those who for what reason were vulnerable. It's easier to avoid this when you don't have kids and have a strong social circle, but a lot of people don't have adequate support. It's so pointless and horrible to ruin a good opportunity for something that if you think would not appeal or could be done in a scrupulous way. I think people with shame in their shortcomings are the ones who justify reprehensible behavior and those who are afraid to face their fear of being betrayed or blame themselves for being betrayed are the ones who blame the spouse. There's no fool-proof way, we can just try and more importantly try to be our best. This is stanking mess.
