I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show so close to perfect. It’s almost flawless. I could watch this 29 times and on the 30th find something new.

Arcane and Blue Eyed Samurai are the best Animation series Ive ever seen. Story and Animation quality are the best in the business. Im so happy to hear they both got renewed for a second season. Cant wait!!!

Check out Scavengers Reign, Pantheon and Primal. I discovered all of these recently and have been completely consumed by them, along with Blue Eye Samurai. Absolutely amazing stuff been coming out recently.

One of the best things to ever come out of netflix.
YES! Wasn't hard to get my wife into this animation. It's raw, it's adult, it's creators have passion for their craft. Incredible choreography, storytelling and character development throughout that definitely deserved another season!
Seeing complex characters on screen making decisions that are in line with their goals only to learn from their mistakes is what I believed made this show so impactful. The message of "Perfection is Brittle" will stick with me for a long time. Give the writers and animators ALL the time they need for the writing to be GOOD. Please Green light enough seasons for the show to have a good definitive resolution for these characters.

While Mizu is incredibly over powered, every battle they win turns out backfiring in some way and move the plot in unexpected directions. Every encounter has a cost, even when it seems positive. Truly great writing.

One of the best shows i saw in a while.... my wife was skeptical about it being a cartoon (she didn't know a thing about anime and particularly adult anime) but she saw the whole 1st season with me and loved it

I'm on your wife's team. Hubbie is an avid LoL fan, so I had to watch Arcane with him and, while I didn't hate it, I never thought of it as anything other than a well made cartoon for grown-ups.
This show legitimately made me forget I was watching animated characters with how good the writing, acting and cinematography all were.

So excited! I’m also interested in seeing how they deal with the issue of a language barrier. Assuming that all the characters are speaking in Japanese and the show is “translating” for us, will they have the Londoners speaking in a different language? Mizu would surely have some sort of language barrier, so I really want to see how they plan this out.
Well to be fair...she's still got Fowler locked up on the ship and it's gonna be sailing for atleast a few months I reckon...thats plenty of time to learn some English. I'm sure Mizu can find some way to 'persuade' him to teach her.

@@august1837 No, same here; it felt like that one was just so good; the others afterward felt a level or 2 below. Not that they weren't good, just that ep 5 was a masterpiece all the way through.
I hate that it's always a surprised when Netflix renews a good show, but I'm glad that this is one we get to keep.
It's really not, considering they usually renew anything that has good numbers.

It's less surprising for animation, they've been investing a lot in that over the years, with success. It's mainly the live action shows that've had mixed results.

Netflix is killin it with these animated shows between this and Castlevania. A second season is well deserved, I’m hooked!
Huge thanks to Netflix, and of course the writers and production team for making season 1 truly awesome. Let's hope for more greatness in season 2. Notes to Netflix: please don't interfere in the creative process, please don't rush the writers and production team, please don't reduce the budget.

YEESS! I've already watched it two times and I showed the second time to my parents and now they are hooked. The storytelling is exceptional and the characters, mainly Mizu are so well written!

This show was so good, I really wanted season 2 but doubted it’d get one announced until like a year. I’m so glad & grateful that Netflix is renewing a show that’s actually amazing, so fast! Usually they don’t, but oh my god I really wanted to see what happened in London with Mizu so i’m so happy!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Personally , if i had to give a 1st place for top series of the year , this one would be my entry.
It just , didn't miss.
Story , choreography , lines & the proper lengths gone to actually convey emotions & feelings on the characters animations. not to mention the character development each has throughout the story...

As a history enthusiast, especially about sakoku-era Japan. Watching this in the Japanese dub was one of the most immersive experiences I have ever experienced. Beautiful show. Can't wait for season 2!!

I hope they have a beginning, middle, and end planned out. I'd hate for a show like this to drag on to satisfy viewers without just focusing on the story. I hear they didn't even think it was going to be renewed for season 2 and didnt think season 1 would do so well, so they didn't start 2 at all. So hopefully, it ends up all right. I could see the entire show and its story ending with 3-4, and at most, 5 seasons. Anything more would be too much. Honestly, I can't believe this came from Netflix, of all places. Always thought the last great serialized animated tv show they produced was Bojack Horseman. Would have said Arcane, but Netflix only distributed that.
I'd imagine they at least had ideas for where a second season would go, considering how it ended. I do agree though

With the way Season 1 ended, I'm very curious about Season 2. If the story follows Mizu, what's going to become of the other characters like Taigen, Akemi, and Ringo?
Yes, I do worry they've written themselves into a bit of a corner. Can they really leave all the other characters behind and do a season of Mizu in London where she doesn't speak the language?
they’ll probably just have the show in different settings? i hope they don’t get left behind, mizu has to come back at some point for her sword.
Yeah, I'm wondering as well. Mizu's fantastic, but the way the other characters have developed is also great. I want to know how Akemi handles her life in Edo (she'll be great, that's for certain), how Ringo does as the Swordfather's apprentice, and whatever the heck Taigen is up to lol.

Also about her not speaking the language she has fowler and i imagine they will just maybe do the cliche mini time skip and give her some basic english comprehension so she can at least sort of communicate with locals but fowler and the 2 guys that are maybe her father will speak japanese.
