    Some additional fun facts:
    The scattering of blue light is a form of elastic scattering called Rayleigh Scattering, which is when no energy is lost during scattering.
    The blue laser diode was a big deal at the time because the shorter wavelength allowed for more interactions at that length scale. The most well known application is in optical media with data storage jumping to over 50GB because more pits (which encode data) could be stored on a disc.

      @durnominator Год назад +1

      The wavelength of light affects how small a dot you can focus the beam of light into. Higher the wavelength, the smaller the dot you can make. Since blue rays of light have smaller wavelength than red, you could make a smaller dot with it. This means that you can make the bits smaller than the ones read with a red laser, without the laser light bleeding into the adjacent bits. This lets you make the smaller bits and put more of them on an optical disc. Just a little addendum about that particular application.

    you blue my mind
    Video editing was fun !
    Btw, at the beginning, is "scinece" a typo ?
    For a favorite color I'd say I like orange / ochre, I wouldn't paint a whole room with it but it's great here and there (well, my first motorcycle was orange so there's that too X) )

    • @fayedrosera
      @fayedrosera  Год назад +6

      Lol, the 'scinece' is from a pre-made sticker pack in my video editing program. They spelled it like that, and I thought it was funny, so I kept it, LOL.
      I had never heard of 'ochre'! I had to look it up! And ohh, an orange motorcycle sounds so cool :O

      I was not sure if it was a pun I didn't get xD.
      ngl, I struggled for a minute with the english spelling of ochre lol

    This is why blue VTubers are so popular. It just hits you with a calm feeling and for most people it doesn't overwhelm your senses.

    Pfft, everyone knows Blue's third drummer's blood type was B+. That's right, Positively Blue.
    Related note, our blood isn't blue! Like, at all! Under any circumstances, oxygenated, spilled, or otherwise! Veins *can* appear blue given certain skin tones, but that's also related to light scattering, not actual pigmentation. (This fun fact brought to you in part by a cursory google search :) )

    Love the fact that the butterflies and birds that are apparently blue actually aren’t blue at all and just playing tricks on us. Which then begs the question, if what our eyes see isn’t real at times, what else isn’t real? Is reality just what our senses are capable of interpreting?

    Would you know more about the blueness of the sky when you see how light scatters through the atmosphere from space? If you look at an image of the limb of the earth, and observe sunlight diffusing through the atmosphere, you can see three colors. The troposphere looks orange, the stratosphere looks white, and the mesosphere out to the exosphere looks blue shading to black.
    I always wondered if this is a more in depth description of what's going on with light scattering in the atmosphere.

    I remember when LEDs were just becoming a thing, blue LEDs didn’t exist at first and it was a low-key big deal when they were made. My favorite was when the PS3 came out and it had one of the first consumer blue LEDs. It was so pretty we just stared at it for a while. #justnerdthings

    fav colour would actually be something very close to your background colour - teal/turquoise area (#37b48b)

    I've always been a fan of red myself - colloquially kinda the opposite of blue. If I had to pinpoint a specific shade(s), I guess I would say a nice Crimson (#DC143C), Carmine (#960018), or Cardinal (#C51E3A). Generally a deep red, not too bright, not too dark, not too orangey or pinkish.
