Not only did I BUY it, I bought the Deluxe Edition AND I'm playing it IN Chinese while living in China - which is a great place to be to avoid the woke rejects of the world. This is EPIC. DO be aware, this game is NOT for casuals - it can get hard as sh#t, a lot like a souls game, and there are NO options to lower difficulty - but that's fine by me, keeps a lot of idiots from even making it past chapter 1 so they can't even REVIEW it. Be aware if you see a woke review site trashing it, I can BET they did NOT get very far, the filthy casuals that they are.

Truth be told, if you go to China and ask people about Sun Wukong, EVERYBODY knows. this is how famous he is. Game industries in China have never produced such a game of this magnitude based on The Journey to the West, so this is the first. good or bad, loads of people look forward to seeing the outcome, and the result is fruitful. As far as I know, many people in China asked for leave today (my friends and colleagues included) just so they can play Black Myth Wukong ASAP.
As a result, an expectation of a good game combined with one of the most famous mythological characters in China could easily melt down the Steam server due to the high amount of downloads.
On the other hand, some "journalists" declared Black Myth Wukong is not diverse enough, I pity their capability to comprehend. First, Wukong is a Monkey, so white black yellow brown red or whatever matters nothing, Wukong is born from a stone, so basically there is no gender for Wukong(check), Wukong is a Buddhist so Wukong is a vegetarian (check), Wukong can transform into 72 different forms (check), isn't this diverse enough?

This idea of 'diversity' is actually the exact opposite of diversity. It's propaganda for shoving everyone in the same place and pretending they are all the same by erasing their differences.

I don’t get the DEI thing. Is it mandatory? What if game devs just pass on them? They could save money from consulting and game developers can just go to consumers instead relying on game journalists.
Because if they do they get access to huge credits with very low interest rates. Who would say no to "free money"
If you pass on it, then you get smeared in the media. That review that smeared the game for lack of diversity was written by someone who also works for one of those consultancy groups. It might as well have read "they didn't pay my other employer, so they're bad". It's a clear conflict of interest that resembles a really lame protection racket.
It's government funded . It's globalist funded . It's : put this propaganda in your game and we'll give you a bunch of free money, and give you a loan on top of it.
Game devs often rely on big companies to finance their games. Square Enix for example is mostly supported by Chase bank. The big companies have terms and conditions which now usually include DEI. So unless you can find corporate level support without a DEI clause, you're kind of stuck.
blackrock admits to trying to "force behaviors" they are using their massive funding to force companies to make their games woke, the devs take a quick buck in exchange for losing sales and customer trust, it's really not a good deal as most of the time it results in entire studios shutting down
