it's different here in AZ, winter months are when the yard sales are at the peak, community sales every week. The summers here are when yard sales are not good, very spotty.

We have a great weekly auction where I can get box lots of items to resell. I also work for a small business that helps people organize, pack and move - there’s often a great deal of donations that I can sort through and find great items to list on eBay. I have enough inventory to get through the long, cold Northeast winters. Great episode!

i've always done well fall-winter-spring, it's the summer months when people get busy and sales may dip some..winter? bring it on...people trapped inside...business is good!! I did have to adapt and broaden my inventory - but it's adapt or die...a sale is a sale......

Im still making light purchases mainly at two thrift stores when i need a break. I still have a large death pile & still add to it with the free inventory. I did stop by a local garage sale I found a snap on 3/8 drive MG325 impact gun & 150+ hot wheels from 1992-2011 all loose but I only paid $5 for all the hot wheels. I got a broken Craftsman ratchet had it replaced with the lifetime warranty for a new one. I just keep listing listing listing. Enjoyed the show.

There are no good thrifts stores in my town either, I usually have to go out of town just to find good yard sales. I usually buy heavy through out the yard sale season and in the winter time, I turn to estate sales if I need to.

I'm never short of inventory for the winter months, since I like going to a big flea market weekly when it's warm plus a few other places where I can get plenty. Some would call it a death pile, but I consider it security until I get around to listing it. Have hundreds of model kits, model car magazines, star wars figures, and more for this winter listing. Buying is fhe fun part, listing is the work.

Being in Vancouver Canada, winter here isnt quite as bad as the rest of Canada, but it always rains in the winter (when it doesn't snow), so no garage sales or outside flea markets.
I source with a few different places. Mostly online auctions and Facebook marketplace. With all the lowballers on marketplace, I send a decent offer and 99% of the time I get what I want for what I want to spend on it, just because I'm higher than the lowballers. I also dabble in storage units, but only the uhaul types that get shipped, as most people won't SHIP junk that has no value. The average value of items in a shipping box is probably 75% higher than normal storage units.

We sell what we find. lol That includes alot of clothing because I've been working in the dry cleaning business my whole life so it's second nature. I'd punch myself in the face if I had to comp collector cards of any kind! Great video Chris! That's my name also!

Our climate is even colder than yours, so we have garage sales from April to the beginning of September. I just buy as much as I can afford to all the months with garage sales and stockpile it for the other months. I store it in my large shed. We have only 2 thrift stores and they are too expensive to buy much from to make a profit. I do visit them occasionally through the cold months, but usually find only 5 or 7 items. I feel as you do, if I had to sell much clothing instead of hard goods, I'd quit reselling. I just don't like searching for it or photographing it.

So I really haven't learned enough to expand my selection, haven't been doing this for 90 days yet but it really has helped me and I primarily just sell shoes, hats, sports cards, and a few odds and ends, I'm a salesman so I just do this part-time but I have a sales car and on the way back from my route each day I pass several thrift stores I don't have time to look at clothing except for shoes which is kind of quick, hope next year I'll hit up yard sales and there's a great flea market in Columbus that I go to but I've only had a chance a couple times since I've been reselling and it has been profitable though.. would like to learn other items for sure

I am not sure what I am going to do this winter. Last year all I was doing was patches and I could find enough lots to keep going. But this year they became harder to find and I switched more to pallets. With that my space is not infinite, I only got space for 1 maybe 2 more. I guess a lot of old listings will be ended and re listed

I have a few stores that let me know if they are marking stuff down to 90 percent off. I squirrel as much as possible I have 2 thrift stores and 1 goodwill but I don't depend on them

I will go to thrift stores now and them in the winter but I prefer estate sales and we have a weekly auction in town as well that I frequent more during the winter months. How do you make profit off your items kept in a storage locker? Every month you pay rent to store them its affecting your profits.
