Well, this was interesting for anyone who owns a Ken Onion edition WorkSharp. Some of us have bench stones, some a Lansky or crock sticks, some a 2x72 belt machine, etc.
I absolutely love the Tracker style knives I have all four!!! I thought I read something about y’all doing custom knives this year. If so T3 or T1 without the notching saw on the spine would be amazing.
Hi, thanks for the video. I use the same WS KO + BG device for all my knives incl. all your TOPS Trackers (work on my T3 154CM was the toughest btw;-) I convexed all the edges on the Trackers and what works the best for me, when sharpening the hook part, I roll the belt slightly at my will to get a nice angle for it and then I keep the hook needed time on each side to get a nice edge on the part. For those teeth, I use small files or/and sandpaper. Great job guys, I like your knives! FM
I only grind by hand. And I do before I leave the woods, so it's ready for use again. I use ceramic stones, since they come in exactly the shape you need.
What stone do you use and how long is has it lasted so far I love my Tom Brown trackers but can’t find a good travel stone when I’m camping I usually use a belt unless it is real bad then I take it to a pro
I was expecting some advice on how to sharpen a tracker knife. Instead I got an advert for the Ken Onion Worksharp. How about a part two using the rods you mentioned etc?
Do you think a work sharp with the blade grinder attachment would be worth grabbing even if you have a million 1x30 and 2x72's? It looks perfect to put a nice convex edge on some knives
Depends on preference and the set up of your existing grinders. If the way this machine is oriented lends itself better than some of your existing tools, then definitely. It's not really a tool to sharpen in a production type environment, if you have a pile of camp or kitchen knives that need done, this thing will definitely be a time saver over stones or other manual sharpeners.
QQQ for someone on a budget, will the regular Worksharp Ken Onion without the bladegrinder attachment work for trackers? I have a T1 and T4 that I love, able to maintain them easily with a ceramic rod, but I also have another tracker that is giving me heck. Awesome video, so glad you put this out!
Thank you sir for the lesson. I think I may buy one of these sharpeners after seeing your video. By the way, you would be great dubbing Godzilla movies!
Was going to buy a tracker but I don't have a fancy electric knife sharpener, and I'm not going to buy one just to sharpen one knife. Thank you guys so much for keeping me from making the mistake of buying a tracker.
@@notfixingit Usually theres videos that don't say shit even in the description and are just barely out of sync and everyone mentions it in the comments, but at least here they mention it.
is it true that Tom brown did not truly design the tracker? if this is true you all should give the original designer credit.. and take Tom browns name off that blade going forward.

God bless the TOPS KNIVES family, thankyou for your American values

Salut Michael ou avec la dos deplacé ,,hors coups de baton ,,,
This video is exactly what I needed. Thank you for the great information.
I actually have the Ken Onion edition, just not that attachment, could this set up work with my Tops Skullcrusher?

@@christophermccord3757 there are combinations that have diamond dust and ceramics stones and they have a good profile for the longest
I have a rod and a flat stone to grind the trackers knife
Let me take out my 72 hour food supply and put the Worksharp in my bugout bag, just in case.
Lol
Really should have re-shot that. Hard to watch.😂 but good info.

Operationalextras Tracker touch up
Watched that video a while back. 😁🖒
Course and fine ceramic rod and it’s done.
When are you guys releasing the lilith knife
I love my largest size tracker. But it is dull at the moment
Thank you sir for the lesson. I think I may buy one of these sharpeners after seeing your video. By the way, you would be great dubbing Godzilla movies!
What do the numbers mean on the blade? Mine has T-22890.
A field knife you need a special powered sharpener for......Gotta make room in my pack I guess
What are you doing on the lower level ? I noticed you make a pass and then place the knife on the lower level before making a pass on the other side.
Bushcraft. Chopping at wood
My tracker is dull as a buttetknife I've tried everything to get it sharp

If that was your take away it's probably better that you don't get one.
Agreed. This also looks like a good way to grind the 'tooth' that sticks out down to nothing.
So they still make the tracker?
Yes it has been a top seller for over 20 years now
Does Tops not sharpen knives if sent in from customers?
We do have a free sharpening service- all you have to pay is shipping. But some people like to sharpen their own knives.
@@TOPSKnivesofficial understand, was just curious. Thank you.
Available
I want to learn how to sharpen My Sonoran knife I have yet to recive because it's not for sale yet because the universe hates me :(
Domage en france il n y a plus de tracker
This is not Tom Brown design. That knife was designed by Robb Russon. ruclips.net/video/XqlkFpzaQdY/видео.html
Audio is totally out of sync on this video
Did you really not hear the beginning of the video? He said that their audio corrupted and they had to dub over it.
@@LordTywinLannistertheBased lol oops no somehow I missed that
