  • Radim Karniš from Espressif's office in Brno talks about the company’s Swiss-army knife, esptool.py, which is a Python-based, open-source, platform-independent utility that communicates with the ROM bootloader in Espressif chips. Used either on its own, or within a framework, it constitutes the last link in a software chain when developing for, or working with, the ESP8266 or ESP32 series of SoCs. Having been built as a Swiss-Army knife, it incorporates a multitude of tools. This talk aims to show how simple, yet powerful, esptool.py is, and how to use it to tame your ESP!

Very unfriendly to newbies like me. Packed quite alot of info in 28 minutes that will take hours and hours of research and testing offline. But certainly a good introduction to set up guideposts on what to learn and what is important to know.
