Surprised to see a fictional video from Disrupt but love the ai safety references. Also as many others have said the aesthetic and storytelling is still phenomenal
I gotta feeling this story is bullshit I haven't been able to find shit online about 'sig9' or 'sybil' if there was a attack as large as the one described then there would be all types of information about it but there's nothing that I can find. so it's clear this is a fictional story
Right? Even from their videos from years ago, the editing/graphic design is soooo good, I wonder if I could pull something off with this level of quality
Yo, this is really awesome. I'm usually not one to like to see fictional content from a (Usually) nonfiction channel but, I really like this. The (idk what it's called) animated live parts really draws it all together. 10/10 love to see where this channel is going❤
Wow. I really liked the video, not only for its story, but also its editing and audio/visual presentation. It’s genuinely so inspired, original, creative, and engaging
That is absolutely stunning!! Story telling, editing, visuals, just amazing work!! I"m stunned by it all!! I never react this strongly about a video on RUclips. You just blew my mind. Just stunning work. Just stunning.
This is really cool! I like the attention to actual coding concepts rather than just being a jumble of fancy sounding words. Though this is just a tad bit too fantastical to ever exist, it’s interesting and I can’t wait for part 2.
SUCH A GOOD VIDEO!! it is so well produced! One little thing: it triggers me a bit as someone who has some knowlege about programming that the code that is shown at 2:35 isn't actually python code... Still better than 99% of hacker TV shows though xD
i feel like one thing that's been lost with new narration is how the old one used to abruptly shift the topic to something that seems completely unrelated and then connects the stories
Keep in mind that this is a fictional story and thus may not be feasible today An ai efficienciently reprogramming itself and improving is currently not possible, even with AutoGPT
Probably the most intriguing work of fiction I've seen in years- way to beat out the major studios, friends :) Keep this up, I love imagining how technology in 2023 (and beyond) can get away from us. Considering how common place and unrevealed technology has become, that topic is somehow more unnerving than any True Crime, Disaster Core, or Carnage Candy video I've ever watched...
Wow, the production quality on this video is simply amazing. You won't find anything commercially available on mainstream networks this good. I really love this video and I'm going to subscribe.
This video seems to be a reference to a hacking in North Korea in 2022 but with a few fun twists. Amazing work on it can’t wait to see what part 2 has in store
I don't mind the fiction angle taken here but from a channel that normally covers nonfiction I found this to be misleading in presentation. It was not clear at all in the title, description, and the video itself just briefly labeled it "story". I had to dig through the comments to figure out why no details popped up. Please make it very clear or split the channel; given the nature of your normal content, it feels very misleading to present it this way.
Kinda weird, but I would LOVE to watch a behind the scenes video of you editing your videos. I wanted a career of editing movies, but ended up choosing a totally different path in life. Something about sitting back and editing videos is so soothing to me.. Subbed btw!
Amazing video. This is especially scary given that AI creators openly disucuss the fact that they don't know what it's doing anymore, and at this early stage. Even though they have all these ways to train it, they can't log / document what happens between the prompt and the result. They refer to it as a black box. The godafther of AI, Hinton, knew he had to leave Google or any company in order to speak freely. It's such an early stage to not know how the AI is thinking as it's not like they'll start finding out as they advanced it, it'll be the opposite. The pause in development was somehow their realisation that the genie is out of the bottle. Scary days ahead
Sounds more like laymen news article headlines.. AI safety - good yes, guy left Google - yes, because there's lots of money involved for the company that can first and most leverage the advances in AI. Blackbox scary, nobody knows "how ai thinks" - No. I won't go into detail, there's other *educational* videos on that topic but from what I got, yes AI learns pattern recognition differently than human, aka you can't explain a learning process that's different from ours, it's nothing scary, AI just doesn't follow human steps, and most news articles stop there and say "scientists don't know what it's thinking". Just good old clickbait. Pause in development btw - called upon by people, many of who happen to gain a lot of money if other companies catch up to openAI.
2001 A Space Odyssey Poster appearing in the background, as Sig9 says "I'm afraid I can't do that." is a nice little touch. I dearly hope there's a part 2.
disrupt is the perfect example of why you should tryhard English class, find good music, and just be an honestly awesome guy. he can make a video on anything and i can watch it all the way through
it's bordering on irresponsible to not make it more clear that this is a work of fiction. Considering this channel's reputation of narrative telling of historic fact, a diversion into War Of The Worlds style fiction without a proper and clear disclaimer is sure to cause more problems than necessary.
Me and my friend were just recently debating how likely a real world "skynet" type scenario is to happen, and I argued against it simply because nobody would actually do the things and make the mistakes people make in sci-fi movies. I still stand by that, none of these companies or the government are likely to plug a chatbot into the nuclear arsenal, give it the ability to write its own code and give it some loosely worded directive, but criminals? Who knows.
This can’t be a true story, the biggest botnet in history is nowhere near a hundred million machines. If this size was reached he could have made probably like 3 billion dollars minimum. An AI model also doesn’t have the intelligence to do what this one did. A chatbot basically just uses math to determine the next word in a sentence, it’s not really intelligent, it’s just a huge amount of computation on a huge amount of data to determine next words. Also you don’t learn to setup a history making botnet all by yourself in a year like this guy did. I don’t know if it’s even possible to setup a botnet of 500,000 machines by yourself let alone a hundred million.
im going to prove everything you typed here wrong just because you typed a whole paragraph denying the future obtw its possible to learn to setup a history making botnet all by yourself in *under* a year
How are you and your team getting such good intel on how these complex plans were unfolded? It’s always so gripping and entertaining. Are you ever able to exchange with these people first hand? Or through something protected. Asking for a friend. Literally.
The scariest issue? Sig9 can exist today. His botnet, Sibyl, can exist today... Through his means of development, one could already be working through it.
