In this video i'm going to show you my current approach to creating photoreal 3D art. I only had 20 days days to make the art, and I'll cover a ton of topics, tips and tricks for effeciently getting to an end result. I'll be using Unreal Engine 5 to create my art, with a little help from Cinema 4D, Daz3D, Midjourney and Davinci Resolve. All of these programs are free (except Cinema4D) so feel free to download them all below, and experiment for yourself.

"inspired by the thought, 'If I can think it, I can create it'" -- that's exactly why I started making 3D art, too! great video, Clint!
Heck yeah!
Same
and then he used an AI to THINK and pushed 10 ads to the viewer? 20 days rofl..
I loved this one
@@boohoo5419 right lmao. "I can create anything... as long as a machine does it for me."
You know what I like about Pwnisher's video is that he makes the most complicated things look so easy!
Such an entertaining yet informative video. Keep it coming! 🤙
Glad you enjoyed Ajith!
These breakdown videos are some of my favourite ones on the channel! So sick seeing the workflow of such a long project broken down
My goodness! The real time nature of UE shines on this breakdown, what a pleasure to watch through your process in such a good looking and fun way. Keep up the incredible art and videos! 🙌🙌
Epic changed the game
Much love Soto!
ure insane man, ive been following you since 2012 and you always inspire me
Glad to hear you're still checking in =] Thanks for watching for all these years.
Your breakdowns are always so clean, so calming and motivating at the same time, well done!
Yaaaaay! Glad you enjoyed this one =]
I'm glad you're making videos like this Clint. It's enjoyable to watch your process and I learn so much each time. Your talent shines in these videos. Thank you for sharing
This was awesome. I love your brutal honesty about the time it takes to create things like this and the dreaded render process. Having multiple failed renders in a row can definitely make you start to question your sanity but its just part of the game. Thanks for sharing this!
This breakdown is fantastic. The fact that you covered multiple things in such a short space of time whilst explaining it really well and in an easy to understand way is incredible. I hope to start learning Unreal Soon and I will be back looking at these breakdowns to try and figure out my own ideas and bring those to life! Thank you so much!
this piece of art was too perfect to be exist. wow, really impressive. Keep up the brilliant works man, i think u deserved to get more recognition. Loving it, pwnisher.
dude, what you are doing with these competitions is just amazing and greatly valuable for 3d art. thank you. :)
The value you gave us from this video is incredible. Wow! Thanks so much for your hard work to show us the behind the scenes here
Totally! I try to bring the heat every time.
Your work is really inspiring. I spent years of studying computer science only to discover 3D art a bit more than a year ago (after seeing your challenges). I'm still afraid to start over and fully commit to it but your content is really pushing me to do so.
If one day I become a 3D artist, it will be thanks to you 🤙🏼
Incredible. Hey I mean, you can just start doing it as a hobby and see where it goes.
@@pwnisher hey, I know it seems like a tiny thing, but such a statement coming from someone of your stature does actually mean a lot. I'm a music producer by trade, and 3D art has always scared me because of how consistently shit I've been at all forms of 2D art, but this comment and this video in general is what finally got me to download UE5. Can't wait to create some album art, at the very least!
Incredible just incredible how good your work is. I love this video.
Fantastic breakdown, thankyou! And yeah had a good laugh at your crash section, that definitely feels relateable and I've been working in unreal for years! (working in mobile preview recently, for quest - it really does not like working with mobile preview on!)
Duuude, this is so sick!! Thank you so much for this epic tutorial :D
By the way, love this tiny wooden stool with the sneakers in front of the Holodeck
You're an inspiration.
I appreciate the dedication you've put in and during my own 3d journey, I've come across your content more than a few times whilst exploring.. creative tangents.
look forward to seeing more from you and learning from your unique brand.
Thanks a ton for the kind words my friend.
Clint, thanks for the video as someone who has a basic understanding of unreal, but still trying to learn more these little deep dives into some of your techniques are awesome for gaining practical knowledge. The material breakdowns were especially useful. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you're finding these videos helpful!
Fantastic work. I have zero experience with this and when you said I could follow along I was like "hmm.. Might be worth it to just start" and then away you went doing some wild work.
This is awesome and you did this in less than a month.
Awesome!!!! That has a lot of knowledge behind the scene for doing that kind of work. I think is impeccable. Congratulations!
Amazing video and job with the environment. Some parts really helped me to understand how can I improve my projects
Didnt know this much work done on the scene, i was only focused on the middle, glad i watched this video and saw all the tiny details you added to the scene
Always love your tutorials man keep it up and never stop because you are better then most teachers
I haven't watched many videos that actually leave me inspired and wanting to create more. This looks amazing.
I've always thought to myself "If I can imagine it, I can create it." That's exactly why I love 3D art so much. But my issue is, I can't think of anything. My question to you is, how do you come up with things and ideas to create?
What a pleasure to watch… thank you Clint for the amazing video!
7:25 "oh my goodness...WHAT if there is a fire?" That was a nice break in the tempo. Amazing editing and pacing throughout. Learning a ton just by watching. The cable simulation was a mind blower.
Not gonna lie. I thought this was a tutorial for the screen cube - cuz that itself just looked cool. When I saw you creating the whole freakin warehouse my mind jumped off a cliff. Absolutely incredible work!
Same here!
Another great informational and inspirational video. Love it!
You're Storytelling Skills are outstanding, thanks for this amazing insight!
Been using Kitbash 3D stuff for a long time, Its a endless amount of fun, especially when they give it away free. You did a great job on this mate.
Such a great break down video! Always love the music on your vids too, it doesn't go unnoticed!
Heck yeah!
Your amazing and just inspired me on so many levels
13:27 In case anyone can't find the MF_tiling function. You need to make sure you import at least one asset from bridge before searching for it. Adding any asset from bridge will load the mspresets folder into your content folder with all of their material functions along with it.
Really ur awesome dude, my mind is blown watching this. All the hard work you have made is clearly visible to us. Hat's Off to you for your work
Amazing work as always - thanks for always teaching and inspiring
Absolutely! Thanks for watching and showing your support!
RUclips shoved this video into my face for days and it knows why! What a treasure of knowledge and inspirarion compressed into one piece 🥰
Clint thanks for the breakdown of the project, elements, details and little tricks from C4D. You have such a pleasant way of showcasing the workflow. Installing UE5 now and learning this thing! Mission to Minerva here I come!
Zippeeerrr!! Yo dude! So glad you liked it! :D how you doin post camp?
@@pwnisher ayy! Chilln, staying up on that cold therapy and mace flow!
Amazing presentation. That was alot of information presented so graspably. Thank you!
Yaaay, I'm glad you enjoyed =]
Awesome breakdown so far beautiful 🤙🏾
Yooooo, thanks a ton Winbush! Much appreciated dude.
Looks really good. Just an optimisation tip… on your scaffolding, it would be more efficient to select all the individual cylinders and merge them into a single static mesh.
It’s not about saving triangles, it’s about draw calls.
Won’t really affect render times from MRQ, but it will make working with your scene a lot more pleasurable. Especially if you’re on a lower spec PC.
Totally! Would making a blueprint actor of them be the same thing, or no?
@@pwnisher Don´t think so, because the Merge creates a completely new static mesh, that contains the shapes and materials of all the merged meshes, fused together into one big thing. A blueprint actor that contains all meshes would probably be the same as having all the meshes as separate actors in the scene (mabe collected in a folder), each piece is still it´s own separate thing. Think of Minecraft or any Voxel world, that have to merge all voxels into bigger clusters to become performant and useable.
Thanks for the very helpful websites you randomly included that would help 3D artists become more efficient, such as Dynamic Sky, Daz3D, and Kitbash3D.
Amazing video and result! Thank you for sharing!
Great work, Clint!
Clint - That tutorial was SO GOOD. It’s been so long since I’ve watched something so informative and entertaining. Thanks for reigniting my fire for 3D. And thanks for being such a chill dude to talk to at Half Rez in Chicago this year! This is Stephen btw - hope you can still find time to watch some more Jackie Chan movies like “Operation Condor”!
Yooooo! Thanks for saying hey and for the super kind words! I hope to be back in Chicago for Half Rez agian next year!
the quality of your videos is refreshing and inspiring
The video I was waiting for to get started!
Thank you for inspiring us all to become better artists
Bro your lectures and your words inspired me lot. Thank you so much for your valuable lessons.
I appreciate you. This was an incredible breakdown you have no idea what you did for me in this video. I'm still studying the UE5 and slowly applying new knowledge. This for me was a perfect example of work flow that I needed. Does anyone have any great project breakdown channels that they believe I should check out?
I'm glad you enjoyed and it brought you some value =] As far as project breakdowns, I do alot of them here, but I would definitely check out William Faucher. he's got solid tutorials.
Great video Clint! Loved it
Excellent content as always. I appreciate your efforts 👌
Keep it up !
Thanks Ali!
This is an amazing tutorial, it contains the subtleties of the detailed beauty of realism
Great break down as always! I laughed out loud at the "next time you're in San Diego on the aircraft carrier...." instructions XD
I just reacently got UDS on the marketplace, and holy hell it is so good and the customization on the sky is amazing glad you found and and used it as well!!
Yeah it's kinda the best thing ever!
Very talented!! This is beautiful 🥲
I love to watch your videos when im tired. It gives a lot of inspiration and energy to continue studying and making my lowskilled but happy art
Amazing work and story surrounding it.
Wow, that thumbnail tip you shared is a big QOL game changer. Thanks!
Great vid. Thank you.
Woow, it looks so gorgeous!
I thought you were creating a room like Star Trek Discovery is shot in. Literally made it half way through the video before I realized you were working the entire scene. Fantastic work.
you are an amazing guy and artist Clinton. Thank you so much.
These breakdowns are GOLD
I love the tutorial, it is really motivating!
Great tutorial. 👍
Great video!
One tip: If you do project with a game engine it is advisable to use version control like Git. This way you can track any changes you made to files that or not binary. Would have saved you from moving everything to a new project. Even if you did not start the project with Git you could have used a diff tool like BeyondCompare to compare your project settings to one that works.
soo talented man.... nice job!
Goddamit I had plans to run some errands with my morning coffee but instead I watched this and no regrets! I learnt a lot .. thanks pwnisher for always showing your genius ways! Appreciate it
Dude I thought the warehouse was real in the beginning! Mind Blown!!!
Really nice breakdown!
Every challenge I get closer and closer to diving in and trying to join these. I used to do environment modeling in WC3 way back and it was a ton of fun designing for contests and the like. UE5 is like the superhuman version of the WC3 world editor XD
i would love to watch this kind of video all day
In case if ppl didn't know, there's a tilling feature that you can use to separate the highres render to tiles and render them indivisually, so it fits in your vram budget. I think it's called High res render in Movie render queue. You can use that to render super high quality images
Oh shoot! Solid tip, i'll definitely have to look into it for the next one.
Great for still renderings, but I always get seams when using it in animation sequences
@@snailone6358 have you tried adjusting the overlapping settings? I’ve never tried on image sequence
Love what you're doing. Thanks
OMG, you just gave me the best idea for a music video, Clint. Thanks brother. Keep it going!
Dude this is freaking awesome! :D
This is just astounding.
BROTHER, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! You oooh really helped me!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
AMAZING video!!!!!!! I been doing this for awhile and you connected the dots for me and to help my workflow!!!!!! Rad! 👏🏾😎
This is absolutely..absolutely inspiring
Just Wow! In recent years, I as well have been learning how to make art with unreal. Opening and showing the process like this is great. It is important to see what all the different softwares are needed and can be used to create something like this. This was very inspiring. Thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it and found this one useful!
Great! Be aware of the crazy cool UE - Nuke bridge btw, which leaves you with full control over every object and every material for your post processing. Then render to Resolve to finish it off.
Its gonna take me some time to reach this level of expertise , but the end prodcut and your detailed walkthrough at least got me motivated to get started, gg
Then this video was made especially for you =] Glad to help inspire!
Beautiful job. Thank you!
Amazing work!
Beautiful. Thank you~
thanks a lot!!! so nice reverb
amazingly useful video, thanks.
works, keep up the good work man
Nice, I wonder how you have been able to make such good lighting!
INSANEEE WORK! Thank you 📈
Awesome! Thank you. I get frustrated easily as i am just learning 3d modelling and animation and unreal5... and juggling real life with 3 kids...so these motivations really help and matter.
What a nice breakdown. You got one more follower. Thanks
i have absolutely no idea what you where doing and am not at all familiar to animation but boy - I was captured for 20 minutes and in a totally different world. Thanks!
Your channel is something else.... My new inspiration! Like a breath of fresh air. Just wow!! I need to start learning Unreal. But dunno how to start. Any tips? Thanks in advance
Great Video as always 👍🏻👍🏻
love these types of videos!
can i inquire as to your reasoning for not using metahuman for this?
awesome end result like always!
Bro! it's Amazing You solved my problem! Thanks!!!
This is truly incredibe
it worked! thank you so much!!
