Congratulations! You have achieved tranquility and peace of soul at your relatively young age. I am close to 60 and I just realized that happiness is found in simple things, away from the stressful life of the city. And better yet, having a good woman/partner by your side
I'm recovering from Covid, it's been miserable but I'm a live, this Flea market is my kinda fun , just looking and possibly finding a personal treasure in everything is what makes it exciting, not to mention the food, Great times! Thanks for this.
I wish I was there. I’m so jealous. I’m trying to save money to move to Merida because I know my life/health would improve immensely. I hope I Tun into you guys in Merida soon!

corn with mayo... I haven't tried it, but it makes me think of a photo I saw on Facebook of a very large woman on a bus, eating mayonnaise out of the jar with her bare hand.
Those X-men cards had a resurgence during Covid. Still not worth much, but the extra thick ones that came in a box of like 10 maybe the 3rd or 4th series are pretty valuable right now
13:03 Not yucatecan cheese, it is imported from the Netherlands. AFAIK the peninsula is one of the major consumers of Dutch cheese in the world, so they opened some offices here back in the day.
Hey bro, I just bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, 230k miles, clean title, power everything, everything works, ac/heat, $2000. I am curious to see info on your truck. Haha.
45:02 not always bro, here, most of the people prefer to eat low quality and cheap food instead of paying a little more extra money for good and high quality food, that's the reason you get a bad experience from local vendors that have a lot queues but when you try their food is like: damn!! it wasn't worth it to wait too long for this. It's part of our yucateco mindset 🤣😅😕😕😕
I understand what you are saying but from my experience most of the food I've had at the markets and elsewhere has been phenomenal with a few exceptions. Yes I agree the food in Yucatan can be unhealthy at times but in my opinion there are worse food cultures out there and I myself have a very carnivore centric diet so doesn't affect me much. I stay away from the Cheetos and love me some Chicharron or Por Chuc or Pastor or..... most of the food in my opinion is healthy, but i agree many prefer to eat more processed foods most of the time.
Hey there Jose, this might be a Q&A question but what are your thoughts on Tlaxcala/ Puebla. I’m buying a house next month and I been there a couple times really like the place.
No one says anything about fish. How is the fish market in Merida? Do they have it like you can find in Florida? Do they keep it local or is it mostly exported? Is it pricey or is it affordable?
Great question! Yes we have the beach like 30 min away but the fish markets are laking out here, nothing like how it is in Florida. Hopefully that can change as the city grows and demand does too. But you can find plenty of fresh local catch all over the place, you just gotta know where to go.
@@JoseArteagaTravels I noticed after I commented. Google maps says it's open everyday until 2pm. Is that a smaller version and it's bigger on Sunday or is good maps wrong?
Less and less each day tho. The more I go out these days the less I see them. I think at this point many places around the world will be like this. There will be a few lingering folks that never let go of the old fashion lol

Looks much nicer than Dollar General in the States! Do you have to haggle over the prices there?
Much nicer indeed! No haggling out here

Where in merida is this located and is it every day?? From what hours?
All the information is in the description. The market is to the south of city and only opens on Sunday

El Mercado de San Roque is in the South of the City. Just pop it in your google maps 🙂
