I love Squirt soda, I think it has had a bit of a resurgence recently. My earliest memory of Squirt was from when I was a cub scout going to day camp. We had to pack our own lunch but the camp let us pick a can of soda to go with lunch. I liked trying new foods even back then so I got it and really enjoyed it.
Next to the Siren Tavern, it's a firefighters bar but all are welcome, big fan of the Siren Tavern, also Yak's. Would reccomend checking out Choice Deli & Grocery up in Ballard, it doesn't show up on a lot of maps for teriyaki but they do a really good job.
I know it's not technically Seattle, but I hope you can try Ohana teriyaki a few miles north one day. It really is some of the best teriyaki I've had in my 8+ years in the area, plus their other dishes are really amazing, like their katsu, bibimbap, musubi, Mac salad, and even the california roll is amazing. Best of all, like many others it is run by the kindest most welcoming family.
Hey Kenji, I was in Seattle for work last week and went to Yoshino Teriyaki (video 9 feat Eric Kim) and my colleague and I were very happy with a great lunch. Thanks for showing us some good food! The cabbage plus chicken plus rice bite was worth it!
Squirt is one of the best sodas that you can get just about anywhere. If you live near St Louis or anywhere that has Schnuck's grocery stores, though, Ski is a close contender for my favorite soda. Its a lemon orange soda thats kinda like MTN DEW but wayyy better and made with real juice
My husband and I both stopped what we were doing to see your review of Yak's. We're sad that you couldn't see it at its original location in Fremont. He says the reason you didn't get salad is because you ordered the gyoza. Next time you go get a humbow and a pork bowl. 😊
Holy cow, is that the same Yak's that used to be in Fremont? I really hope so, I remember loving that place. It was super early in my teriyaki experience, though, so idk if it was just ignorance and nostalgia.
I wonder if they're one that does the salad in the little deli container on the side and they just forgot to give it to you. Ruby Red Squirt was the MOST special soda growing up. Only got it on holidays.
I love Squirt, but when I was a little kid in the 60's, my grandparents lived very near a Squirt factory in Glendale, AZ, and man that place was stinky!
$15.99, wow I remember when you could get a teriyaki chicken meal for $8.99 and that was like 6 years ago. The price of everything has doubled in 6 years
Growing up in the Seattle area, I love this hyper niche content. I don’t mean to sound like a grumpy “back in my day” person, but the quality has dropped in some places. Like why is there sliced sautéed onions in my local teriyaki order???
Thank you chef. Your videos have helped me so much. Through hangovers and heartache and a bunch of other stuff. Wish you had more Cajun and Creole stuff in your vids. Different kinda menu though. Different kinda place. Would be cool to see you go pro a chicken lazone or shrimp creole down here though. We'd look out for you. Be well chef.🤙
Best thumbnail face.
RUclips did him dirty 😂
Glad to see the teriyaki series back
Squirt is very underrated as a post-hike refreshing drink
Can a teriyaki meal be complete without a lone shred of carrot? Where do the vitamins come from?

Truly a thumbnail to start 2025
I miss this series!!!
Love that shade of yellow nail polish!

That explains why there’s such good char on the chicken
Hell yeah hope all is well Kenji! lots of love, happy to see more teriyaki videos

Love the Mt Greylock reference that came outta left field
i love squirt, its been my favorite pop since i was a kid, they're always had it here in new york as far as i know
Squirt was my Japanese grandmother's favorite. It's not New Year's sushi without some Squirt.
You are back….love the teriyaki ones!!!

Sadly, no. It's still good as its own thing, but nothing like the old Yak's in Fremont. I miss their teriyaki pork over fried rice
Squirt is elite and one of the only soda's I crave.
are you from the Berkshires? was surprised to hear Mt Greylock mentioned!
You should check out Ichibento in Shoreline!

Squirt is a great chaser
The thumbnail on this vid gave me a jump scare 😄
*A place called Yak's just sounds great! Thanks for not using the word undercarriage.*
So where that sweater from?
Your thumbnail editor needs a raise
Squirt fans rise up

If only you were in Bay Area, we could have gotten some amzing recs
WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS MENTIONED 🗣🗣🗣🗣
Did you film this video on the hood of your car?
I think there was an oversight with the order and the salad was forgotten. It’s a little sad because I think Kenji would’ve liked it.
Are we still doing phrasing?

I wanna see your teriyaki

What's up with that nail polish man? Not something a real man would do........points minus!!
PDF vibes with those painted nails…
It's weird watching you eat with a fork...
man i'd get real bored by this dish by this point, especially with no salad
I can’t even with the painted nails
Why don't woman start growing mustaches?
They can if they want to who gives a shit
We are so back
