Thanks for sharing this. I just ordered this from the links you provided. I see that it’s 220v but looks like it used a cord that looks like it’s plug into monitor. Did you have to modify to work with a 220v power source here in the US?
No, I had 240V present on that workbench so I have it plugged into 240V and it works fine. If you want to run it from 120VAC you can probably get a step up transformer from McMaster Carr, eBay, or elsewhere. Not sure how many VA the transformer would need to be but it can be too much as the motors in this thing are small.
Measure the shank on your tap. There are several standards for shank diameter (ANSI, DIN, JIS, ISO, etc.). For my 8-32 tap I'm using the ANSI U-4.3*3.4 collet which came in an ANSI set I got from eBay. It is labeled 5/32" but I think it's really 4.3mm. There are also sellers on AliExpress who will sell individual GT12 collets but I think the ANSI ones have to be bought in a set.
Yes but I bought a full ANSI set. Full ANSI sets are for sale on eBay and Amazon. Here's one listing: tinyurl.com/yjmr494b You can also get individual GT12 collets from sellers on AliExpress but beware there are many standards for tap shank sizes (ANSI, JIS, ISO, JIS, etc.) and they are all different. I think the ANSI set that is sold is mostly made up of metric collets that were "close enough".
These are available from various sellers under different marketing but they are all probably getting these units from the same Asian manufacture. I got this one from this eBay seller who appears to have one more: www.ebay.com/itm/393772955060 It comes with metric collets. If you want ANSI collets you can get them from this seller: www.ebay.com/itm/175467562685 Also, my machine arrived with the software set to Chinese. To change it over to English the included instructions were not good. Here's a link to a better user's manual that has the password you'll need to set it to English menus: content.toolots.com/media/attachment/file/N/E/NEW%20TAPPING%20MACHINE%20USER%20MANUAL.pdf These machines are 1 phase 220VAC but run fine on US 240VAC. If you don't have 240VAC you could probably buy a small step-up transformer but I don't know the VA rating (Volt-Amps) you would need. I only need a few more RUclips subscribers to reach 1000 so please subscribe!

Hey Tom,
I'm needing to use an 8-32 tap as well. What size tapping chuck/holder are you using for the 8-32 tap, and where can I get one?

Thank you! -- Hope all is well in your world.

Sorry. I'm not sure what that option does.
have you had any luck finding SAE size tool holders for this machine?

Do you know what the difference is between this one and the one that Make Everything has?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with that other brands.
Do you mind sharing the brand and model number?
