This song in my opinion is really beautiful, it's the perfect song to end an album about faith and hope. And just how it ends with "Your soul knows good and evil, your soul knows both sides. And it's time to pick your battle, and I promise you this is mine" and then it just fades away with a piano always gives me shivers. And also RIP TOBY, he gonna get broke xD

I am SO glad you liked this song. It speaks to me on so many levels and reminds me that I’m not going to change anything in this world by conforming to the same routines and ideal paths that everyone else takes. I feel you should try to react to more self titled when you get the chance, it's a very interesting album, very underrated. It was created in 2009, some lyrical constructs was recycled from 2007. Imagine the attention this would get and influence this album would have on bands if it was widely known in 2009 still today not many people know it and just look over it

After listening to your reactions we have the same taste in music. 21 pilots for me is one of the best of all time with the music they put together combined with the beats lyrics. Amazing. Gets me emotional. If you want to listen to another unique band, listen to Cake. Start with Frank Sinatra. Their music is so strange but amazing at the same time

Hopefully, if you see all these comments I'm leaving, I'm not annoying you with these religious comments.. But as I have a religious perspective on some of these religious songs, I just thought I'd share. I think what Tyler's rapping in the second verse is about objective morality. We can wake up and decide to do what we personally think is "right in our own eyes" (which the Bible says leads to death) or we can wake up every morning believing what God says is right and wrong, and deciding to follow His standard so we can start to work on our hearts to make them better.

You could have taken your rest AND collected...just link him back to the trilogy. Lol. In some ways I feel like this is Tyler promising god to always write songs of meaning and worth. I'm not religious, but this is one of my favourites on this album. I basically live by, treat others as well or better than you want to be treated. Tyler has confirmed to some degree, some of his music deals with his struggles with his faith. From interviews and my interpretations of songs, it's deciding what kind of Christian he wants to be. I'm not sure what sect Tyler's parents are, but from what I understand Josh's parents were more strict evangelicals, even banning secular music from the house. I think as the world progresses, young people are having a harder time with the 'you must share god with everyone and people who don't believe exactly as we do are going to hell.' What do you think of the self titled lyrical content, self titled was probably the era with the most interesting different tracks, and greatest metaphors. Most people interpret this somg as people labeling themselves as Christians and people straying further from god not using theirr wings to fly so like fake faith, Tyler is cold and hates this sad truth. And he ponders wondering why people waste their time saying these things when in practice not fulfilling their claims
