He has it all sorted out, very impressed and an ideal camping platform. But why does he use the car when he has that awesome van ? And that smile at the end of the bivy bag stow says it all 🙂
@Lee_Proffit thanks Lee, he’ll be chuffed when he sees your comment 😊 Haha I wondered that too but I think the 5-seater car is more practical for ‘dad’s taxi service’ 😄 And I know - couldn’t believe he got the hang of it in the end - we were all having a go 😄
@@StrivingforSelfSufficiency Tell him that he will be better off getting a foam sleeping mat (like the yoga type ones) as that will slip inside of the bivy, and insulate from the ground. And also a mozzi net head cover to wear in the bivy bag to keep the slugs and spider off of his face when he sleep - not a nice morning look 🙂
Pretty practical little vehicle really by the looks of it and certainly handy to get away for a day or two. We only go places with toilets these days as sleeping on the ground with toilet paper sticking out of the ground, called poo tickets here, is less than pleasant. Fortunately a lot of campsites these days will have a long drop toilet and some have much better. In more and more places you can't actually camp unless you have a chemical toilet or some other self contained setup. I've seen a few videos from over your way where people sleep in cars but it's not something I see a lot of here tbh. It's either a Tent, often a Swag or a roof top Tent on vehicles, mostly 4wd's, but I have seen them on other cars as well. Unfortunately I carry that much gear and it takes that long to pack/unpack that going away for a couple of nights is too much effort. Gives me an excuse to stay out longer though. No way I could sleep in a Bivvy so it's a 4 man tent that I can stand up in and can fit my camp stretcher in for me. Thanks for the video.
@@oldbloke204 “poo tickets” 😄 haha, that would put me off wild camping too! We’re the same when it comes to camping - I don’t mind the wee low tents but my partner likes to be able to stand up, esp for longer trips 👍 Thanks for your comments!
@@StrivingforSelfSufficiency Yeah bending over trying to get dressed and climbing up off the floor every morning doesn't do it for me these days. I don't see much point in being stiff and sore each morning and bad sleep can ruin a trip as well. With my stretcher, self inflating mattress and sleeping bag I'm very comfortable which just makes things much more pleasant imo. Cheers.
what great preps. The toilet is a great size for the car.
@@KirstyHart-nq4wk My dad will be chuffed that you like his preps 😊

@Lee_Proffit he appreciates your suggestions, thank you. He’s going to start by investing in a mozzy net head cover 👍
@@StrivingforSelfSufficiency Good for him, let us know how he gets on 🙂
