I really like it too. Some say it is a bit fragile but I've had it for years and used it for just about anything. Still holding strong and without sharpening. The awesome bug repellent is called Watkins Great Outdoors. It works absolutely great. Better than your spray on deet products. Mind you , it is a deet product. Smells a lot better and does not leave any greasy residue. My go to for sure. I provided a link in the description of the video to the Amazon store that carries it. Thank you very much for watching😀

Don't get me wrong that silky is irreplaceable as a tool because its all manual BUT might be a great backup for the milwaukee m18 hatchet or when you want less weight with you 👍

I know it's fun to act like a kid with a samurai saw made in Japan. Which is so expensive and cuts only on a pull action? But wouldn't you rather have a Buck Saw that Cuts on the push and also cuts a little on the pull? It costs three times less and weighs three time less and is also MADE IN AMERICA! lol I know I do:) lol Bob Dustrude Folding Buck Saw!!! You should mention how expensive this saw is and how much it costs to replace the blade!
All very important notes and I am a proud owner of Agawa Boreal 21. Both are great for their applications. The katana is much better in the trunk for me. I literally always have it in the truck. Yes, The Silky is expensive but you can cut a 18" in diameter log with it. Never mind the time it takes. When a fallen tree cuts off my only way out in bear country, I don't waste any time. I make fire wood and take it with me lol

Only took about an hour lol I meant that if the 18" tree fell cutting off my car's only way out I'd bust out the katana. It's a real good friend to have around in above mentioned situations. 2. I hope my spirit stays as young as that child for a very long time. I usually break a few twigs to get a fire going around the camp. I meant take the stump home and heat the house with it in 2 - 3 years. 3. I've had it for a couple of years now. It's literally always in the trunk and I'm a total glamper. You should see my deer hunter sleeping bag. lol 4. One thing is for sure. I've already spent the money on a gadget that only has one real application. Might as well use it... 5. The car won't just jump over the thing. I've considered a chainsaw but it's just so bulky, not to mention the smell of oil and gas in the car. Then there is also less room for gear. The katana is really small and perfect for this purpose in my eyes. I hope I don't have to use it but I'm a lot less stressed about fallen trees in my way out after a storm. The silky is not a better choice for a backcountry camper. I've broken wood with my hands and burned it for years. That's the way to do it. No tools required. OK. Maybe a lighter. No worries. I'll try to be more specific next time. It's all in the details as they say. Very good point. Well. I hope that clears it up. Stay out there my friend. The best time of the season if upon us.

Those are great until the tip breaks off. It’s going to happen sooner or later. Unavoidable with that saw.

Silkysaws are very much a pull saw. If you go easy on the push stroke you are more likely to avoid snapping the blade.
