    This was a great review Lottie and you covered so much in terms of the pencils which will be really helpful for people! I love the way pastels look and your work is stunning but I struggle so much with pastel! I really enjoy watching your reviews and I think you should definitely continue with them 💜

      Thank you Amy! Pastels defintiely do take a lot of getting used to, they’re so different to everything else I’ve tried, but I love them! 😊

    This is a brilliant vid and very helpful , thanks! On the grittiness, I did read that it’s down to the actual pigments themselves, some colours are naturally more gritty than others (mainly those made from hard rocks etc). Because these pencils have such high pigment levels it’s more noticeable ( but beyond the manufacturers control). (Artist quality paints can be the same).Apologies if you already know this!

    Thank you, it helped me. Also, a thing I like about them is they don't roll off the desk where I am working as they are hexagonal

      Yes that is very true! I like that about them too 😊

    That's my strategy as well, I use these and pan pastels for my base layer. Then the carbothellos just look so good over it.

      Yes definitely! The faber castell pit pastels work really well over the top too :)

    are they wax or oil?

      @lottielouiseart  2 года назад +1

      Neither! They are pastel pencils so they are completely different to regular coloured pencils :)

      @@lottielouiseart no, because I have and luminance and they don't fade at all, I wouldn't want these to do the same thing too

      @@salvatoremongellis3024 these have very high lightfast ratings, similarly to the luminance pencils. I have had no problems with fading using this pencils at all :)

    Your blade is too blunt withy which you are sharpening. Once it gets blunt alway change it, this is why people have trouble with normal sharpeners as they think they will go on forever!

      My blade was definitely too blunt! It’s all I had at the time to film the video with :) they still crumble quite a bit even with a good blade unfortunately
