I had been to kerala in 2008 ,as DGM of Karimnagar Dist Cooperative Bank[KDCCB] alongwith BoD, during study tour to ECB,[Ernakulam Cooperative Bank]visited many places where I saw 'mobile banking" ATM n other facilities being offered, operational at strategic points in the cities from parked ATM vehicles,not known n popular in other parts of India.Secondly "Banking in Waves",the concept where a ship would travel along covering few villages to have access to banking,ATM, facilities,if unavailable,the people would have to traverse long n circuitous journeys to reach a town banking. Such facilities may also he replicated in other places in India. It's a different matter that ATM n other banking facilities have become more accessible in other parts of India,yet some places go uncovered for various reasons. In fact Kerala get lot of money from abroad remitted by Keralites working there. Kerala pays very high wages for workers. I had been to kerala in 2008 ,as DGM of Karimnagar Dist Cooperative Bank[KDCCB] alongwith BoD, during study tour to ECB,[Ernakulam Cooperative Bank]visited many places where I saw 'mobile banking" ATM n other facilities being offered, operational at strategic points in the cities from parked ATM vehicles,not known n popular in other parts of India.Secondly "Banking in Waves",the concept where a ship would travel along covering few villages to have access to banking,ATM, facilities,if unavailable,the people would have to traverse long n circuitous journeys to reach a town banking.
Such facilities may also he replicated in other places in India.
It's a different matter that ATM n other banking facilities have become more accessible in other parts of India,yet some places go uncovered for various reasons.
Hats off to ECB for novel ideas,which also runs a mgt college,library,canteen etc etc.
