crablin is great, i'm running 3-4x these days, and turn 1 hook into turn 2 pinochio is steel purple's version of olaf teeth, or cindy storm. It's pretty sweet, go purple steel!
Glad to see some Purple Steel content, my absolute favorite deck to play since Set 1. Hadn’t tried the Pinocchio and will definitely be finding room in my list for a couple. Thanks for the always great content!
Played this color combo last night at our local league and was a lot of fun. I didn't have the pinnochio's and no smash. I think those are important additions. There's a lot of high value cards on 3 health right now
I made a deck very similar to this a couple of weeks ago and went undefeated on it for 10 rounds until I got matched with Zefa on flutes haha. Your only changes from mine is crab, yzma and Pinocchio. Definitely swapping mine over to those that early control is incredible which was my main struggle if I didn't draw hook or Olaf. Great build!
Amethyst Steel is my favorite combination of set 2 from a fun deck perspective. But damn I must be really bad. I’m at 1 win and 9 losses with this deck! I only faced Amethyst Ruby and SteelSongs in 10 matches and I just can’t win. Maybe I need to go back to my old reliable SteelSongs 😂
If you’re not wanting to play let the storm rage on might as well play smash then. I know Storm is a song but smash is worth the same cost, does an extra damage and it’s inkable.
I think the format has just gotten too fast for pocket watch. It's really hard to take a turn off to play it in this format. Plus there are a lot of judy hops and bejas running around.@@beardedcat9744
@@bannibalharca Yeah but couldn’t the same be said for Strength of a raging fire? If you’re playing a song deck it’s good because of the Cinderella but in other decks the card is not that great. Most of the games I see the card is inked or just not even played. But pocket watch with snake is good since it kills simba, ariels etc.
That's a great question. The main reason is because the premier early game removal spells all do two damage. Let the storm rage on, fire the cannons, teeth and ambitions all take out hook, but not olaf. That makes Olaf way more likely to make it to turn to which is really important to be able to play snake mim.

And apparently you have some other super secret tech...

Pinocchio is great! Just don't play too many. Being uninkable can get you in trouble.
@@bannibalharca Definately, 2 feels right with all the card draw the deck has.
Love a good Purple Steel video! I call it Purple Lightsaber 😅
Been playing a varication of this control deck and been enjoying it. I'll have to give your evrsiona spin as well.
Loving these videos, but sad we didn't get to see a game in the Ruby/Amethyst matchup.
Love the deck profile great job

I definitely like having a mix of removal for sure. It gives you options

Thanks! It's definitely a sweet deck
Care to share your deck list?
Thanks for sharing your gameplay thoughts! Any preference for Olaf over Tiana 1/3?
The Ruby Amethyst deck also plays Olaf so I feel like it hides the deck's archetype a little better on turn 1.
@@bannibalharca Ah, that makes complete sense, thanks!
Any suggestions for taking out Cogsworth since we can't target exert with Pinocchio?
If you're really worried about cogsworth you might need to play pick a fight.@@KitMagnification
Been running a wheel variant with the aggro package. It really is a lot of fun.
Interesting. Do you mine sharing the list?
i would like to run this irl is there any replacement for beast tragic hero cause he's just too expensive.
Unfortunately there isn't a great substitution for beast. He really is the focal point of the deck in the midgame.

It could just be a string of bad luck. Could also just not be your play style.
@@bannibalharca It is definitely consistent with my "lose every game" play style. :D:D

Also I feel like Pocket watch could be really good giving your hook or Eric rush, could deal with Simba and other characters right away.

Pls do a discard deck next 😁
I've been working on one so I might just do that
