I heard Janis play live in Chicago during the early 1980s...only because I had subscribed to a season's tickets for piano recitals in Chicago...not because i recognized his name. Honestly, I do not remember what he played - but I do remember him. His every moment on the piano was absorbing, engaging.... completely indescribable and incomprehensible. I do play piano, but not professionally so this instrument has most meaning for me personally ..but the way this man presents music is a brief visit to Paradise.
