Good size for two people - adding a dog would be pushing it.
Fair amount of space under vestibules - average size packs should fit but large packs may not
Straight forward to setup - does take a bit more time than your typical tent. It’s not too bad once you get used to it but time and practice is required. I do have a setup video which goes over every step if you are interested.
Setups fly first so you can set this up even in the rain and the inner won’t get wet.
Excellent ventilation and airflow
Minimal condensation even when sealed up
Very waterproof, no issues with leaking
Handles strong winds with ease
Lots of pockets and internal storage options
Clothesline is awesome but only for light items - heavy clothing items won’t be supported

Price - this is a high quality product, it features a unique incredible design, made by a very well known company and the price is high. Very high!

Fjallraven says this tent is lightweight….I can’t agree with that. It’s heavy especially for a 2 person tent.
Stakes are small and could be easily lost. Seem like good quality though

Imo, if a tent is good enough to use for more than 5 years, even it cost over $700 is still worth your money, and when it lasts for a decade, that is a no brainer at all.
A good tent is a great investment to put in Camping aspect.
Not sure I would pay $700+ for a 3 season 2 person tent. I do however appreciate seeing reviews for tents that you do like, seems like more videos are for tents that are crap. Keep up the good work.
depends from how many times you want to use it. If it's for a couple nights every blue moon you can probably survive even with a "toy tent" at 100 bucks or less.
Well, I wouldn't pay that much for a 3 season tent which is 2.7kg. For that price, you get the Hilleberg Anaris with 1.4kg.
I have had this tent a couple of years. Some days I think I spent too much. Other days I know I have one of the absolute best tents available and it will last me many many years. I also waited and found this on sale in the UK for about 550. I have also bought the footprint and inner only pitch kit as well.

@@S.Clause One was a Fjallraven Polar sleeping bag and the other was a TNF Summit Series -40.
I own this tent and use it in the UK for solo wild camps, yes it’s not the lightest 2 man tent you can buy, but, it is amazing quality and the extra weight is well worth it for the space you get. I also use a different compression sack to make it smaller in my back pack and store the poles on the outside of my pack. I would highly recommend this tent.
I've had this tent for three years and used on two three week hikes during summer and some smaller hikes during autumn/spring in Norway. It is absolutely amazing.
It's withstood heavy rainfall, strong winds and the rough handling of my backpack while being strapped on the outside. This tent is built to last through some heavy duty weather and handling.
I've never had an issue with condensation what so ever in this telt, however during nights where it has gotten down to -8 celcius I've sure been happy I brought a good sleeping bag and pad, cause heat does not retain in this. It gets chilly.
The vestibules too have worked perfectly for me, I can have my 120L backpack on one side (I pack heavy) and do all my cooking and such on the other side.
Also being able to open up the vestibules entirely to see the skies that never turn dark during the Norwegian summer has also been one of the best features of this.
In strong winds it holds up with the vestibules half open too, allowing me to quickly dry my clothes and shoes without them getting soaked by the rain.
Just a the perfect match for me, although I choose comfort at the end of the day rather than comfort during the day, so the weight of this doesn't stick out among all my things.

been looking into this tent, also at the Norrøna and the cheaper option Robens Starlight 2.
I must admit i like the features of this tent a lot, but a bit scared of the big mesh areas, where the wind can just howl though in this Fjellræv, and not having the option to zip up some kind of protection for the wind, since the wind here at the westcoast can be hard and freaking cold.
do u have any or heard anything about the Norrøna, and the quality of that one ? their homepage dont show much of it, neither inside or so..
The Robens Starlight 2, is a much cheaper option, and gets tons of good review for the quality, and strength in heavy wind and rain, but the front area are quit small on it, bit scared if to small for being able to cook probably..
and i dont care if the weight is around the 3kg marker, with a good backpack, that are well organized and trimmed to your body, you dont really feel the weight.

Very thorough review, thanks for all the work you put into this video and to the guy who provided the tent. Regarding the price, I camp between 60-90 days a year and look at the tent as my shelter, not a toy. I don’t bargain shop for tents and expect them to provide protection in all the elements, not just fair weather. If this tent is as robust and reliable as you say, it’s a bargain. Think of it this way, if You stay at any hotel chain for seven days it will cost you well over $720.00, and I’d rather stay in this tent in one of my favorite National Forests for a week and own the damn thing. I’ve had those same DAC tent stakes that came with one of my expedition tents and you’re right, they aren’t the greatest, but an inexpensive replacement if you deem it necessary. Hi Luke, I also have the Fjällräven View tent. I have used it for over 2 years now In rain and snow and it has never failed me. I have also bought a gear shelf, for hanging stuff high in the inner tent. And a additional ground sheet. I wish you both the best and many more fun adventures for the future. Being allowed to camp anywhere probably helps with that. I would camp much more often if i could just walk into the woods anywhere and set up.

@@kevinpappers4494 Sounds easy on paper but it is not, while I live in Lithuania rather than Sweden, almost all the places that are not looked after or visited regularly by the people, are basically mix of bushes, unwalkable forests, swamps or fields with the grass over one meter height, and dont even think about these places in the summer, unless you want to get eaten alive by thousands of mosquitos (not exaggerating). But the nice places that are looked after by people mostly are declared as campsites anyways.
I got that Abisko Shape 2 lite, and can say Fjällraven tents are definitely worth the price, but i really recommend to buy footprint also for protection. Skandinavians know something about making outdoor stuff! Greetings from Finland keep up the good work Luke!
Impressive tent! If they made a solid wall inner it might make an impressive 4-season option. Though that flatish top might collect snow a bit.
They have other tents for that.
I have an idea for a review you can do. I bought an Alps Mountaineering Extreme 3.0 Outfitters tent last year for around $250. The one with the heavy duty bathtub floor you don't need an extra footprint for. (It also comes as a 2- or 3-person with a lighter floor.) I absolutely love it. Two huge vestibules, 2-screen doors that can be closed, and a star-gazing screen in the ceiling for nights you don't need the fly. The workmanship is just superb. And it's as close to a 4-season tent as you're probably going to find. Edit: I just looked and they call the heavier version I have the "Extreme OF a Tent" now. 🤷🏼♀️ The others are the Extreme 2.0 or 3.0.
Maybe also mention that (new) Fjällräven tents are made without PVC, have no poisonous fire retardant treatment and the waterproofing is fluorocarbon free. The price is what we pay for Fjällräven and Hilleberg tents in Europe, so 700$ is not unusual.

It is actually 750€ here in Europe (~900US$),... must be because of higher living standards so Europeans can afford the higher price. It is a great tent and can stand high wind speed. It is a bit bulky with the purpose: to serve and protect in a harsh environment.
The "green" qualities of this tent do not juatify they price. It juat helps some karens think they are helping to save the environment...lol
Would be an excellent choice for adventure motorcycle riders who spend days, weeks and months in all sorts of weather and locations. Out west, wind is so often an issue that a tent that shrugs it off would be a huge value, and same re: setting up/taking down with rainfly attached to keep inside of tent dry. Also a great option for professional river/fishing guides, and others that need something that will never fail them, and be a backup emergency resource for a client who's lesser tent might collapse in the night. If a person needed that extra degree of durability even ONCE, it could be considered a "cheap life insurance policy"! :D

Not good for winter. Bad design for a snow load. Other than that it is great. I get 3 ft of snow at once.
This is a tent I dreamed about for... so many years! First as Akka View 2, but when it's price had gone down enough for me to almost afford it at the time, the tent disappeared from every store. After few months or a year or something it came back as Abisko View 2 (with some improvements, obviously). In September 2022 I finally bought it.
I have used it only for one trip in Finnish Lapland and it was just magnificent! The reasons I haven't used it more are 1) I'm more of a hammock guy, 2) didn't want to camp with it during Finnish winter and 3) I've been working on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean this summer.
I just ordered a footprint for it so I can use it again when I go back home in September. It will be wet in Finland then. 😅 Thank you for the review, I agree with you in about everything!

Perfect for multi day backpack hikes in reasonable weather. Especially great is the ability to open up the side and have panoramic view when in nature. Hearthly recommended.
I own this tent and use it exclusively on my long distance, big river canoe trips. It's a bunker, and on many occasions other tents around mine were flattened. My View stood up to the extreme weather. So this tent works for me.
Looks like you could sneak in some milder 4 season use too!
Nice review. I have this tent, I use it for camping with my kids and solo camps on small hills and in the woods. Nice nice tent to spend time in. I find it strong, and the pockets are really handy, one other thing to mention is, the tent is made with out toxic fire retardants which is a plus.
IT IS WORTH IT! :D I've been using it a lot in all 4 seasons, on the glacier, in the forest, on rocks in Iceland, in heavy storms. It survived all camps and is still fully operational. I love it.

You get what you pay for.. dyneema tents are as much or more. I have three Fjällräven tents and love them all!!! The view is so unique; I find myself using this tent the majority of the time!

I am definitely considering this tent in comparison to other less expensive ones (Big Agnes copper spur, Sea to summit telos) and Yes, I would spend some more money and extra weight on something that will last longer and not fail while I am using it - even if I am not using it often. I ask myself this: if I spend 400$ and have something that fails because it's fragile and don't enjoy it more than a few years, wouldn't I 'd rather spend 700? - the 'poor man pays twice' slogan is not far from true.
Pulled the trigger and bought the tent from Helsinki. $500 and change with shipping. My current tent got flattened last year, and I regularly camp at windy beaches. Thanks for the review

I am so happy that you are reviewing quality gear and not cheap garbage! I do not like buying crap gear that fails on the trail after only a few uses. I have no problems with spending the extra cash for items that are well built and last! I recently purchased the Hilleberg Niak because it was lighter and I have always wanted a Hilleberg tent. i had just randomly watched your original vid on this today! as have just got the abisko 3 lite which is awesome so was looking for 'the very few' fjallraven tent reviews out there - keep up the great content
Value might depend on how often you go out during the proper 3-Seasons. Twenty years ago, we spent $600. for a 3-Season Jansport tent. It had splashback and condensation issues. It swayed A LOT in heavy winds, even under a forest canopy. It was HOT inside on hot, humid days. We bought box fans to solve the issue. It featured a two-pole, heavy-duty, criss-cross suspension system. It did NOT have the Y-Style supplemental tie-downs. We used it often for several years. We mainly used the tent for car camps. I would say that would be the best use for the equipment if carried by 'normally fit, middle-aged fellas.
I like the pole seats/foots. They tend to get dirty during rains. This should prevent some of that mess. Nice tent! Good quality! Nice pack size for a 2 man! Hike on!
I got it. Yes it's expensive and heavy. But i am tall and I like the height which gives me comfort. Espescially when it's rainy, it's nice to be able to sit upright.
The problem is that the tent isnt even very long. 220cm long, i am 2 meters tall my self. 220 cm is pushing it, since you become a lot longer when laying down, i would touch both ends easily. Ideally i go for 230cm long minimum.
I’ve been a tarp guy for a long time; but a tent like this could bring me back to tents. This is a fine piece of heavy kit. My tarp weighs less than one pound. Texas
I started off looking at Marmot and Big Agnes… Though, once I saw this video, I became super intrigued about this here tent… big time. Didn’t think I’d spend that kind of money on a tent before but here we are. I bought it last week! Supposed to be here on Tuesday. My wife and I are really looking forward to giving it a try.. We’re moving up from a 2-p Coleman which has served us pretty well so far… but we recently had our first experience getting a rained out of our little tent during some wicked heavy rainfall. Got me realizing we could use a step up. Looks like this Fjallraven tent will be more of a leap up!
We’re in Minnesota. Will be giving the new tent a run in Gooseberry falls in Northern Minnesota and in Black River Harbor NFCG in the upper peninsula of Michigan in a couple weeks. Gonna be a good one!

A tent that should last a lifetime right there if looked after. So although a hefty price, over a lifetime of use should be a very cost effective tent. Doubt this tent will failt after 5 years like a lot of tents do. Great tent in my opinion and quality
Tents do not last beyond a decade, the sil nylon becomes tacky and seam tape gives up, not sure modern tech lasts any longer.

@@ChrisLoew sram sealant is easy to reapply, but tents can last a very long time if looked after. Even if I got 10 years out of a decent tent with lots of use I would be happy anyway
@@ChrisLoew my two Mountainsmith tents are 14 and 15 years. They can be resumed if necessary but in all that time haven’t needed it. They remain waterproof and one got tested during He ray this year on the trail. I have the Tiger Wall as well as the Copper Spur for longer trips and my Copper Spur is pushing the decade mark and is still working perfectly

Can't really go wrong with Fjällräven. Sure they cost a lot, but you get heck of a quality with every penny 👍
Looks like a nice tent, to heavy for backpacking but I would definitely take it on a canoe trip or overlanding/car camping.
The Macpac Olympus (from New Zealand) is the best tent I have ever used. The new model is smaller than the old model and not as good in my opinion but still great with its integral pitch feature where it can be pitched in the rain by one man in next to no time while keeping perfectly dry.

We are big fans of Fjällräven. We already use their backpacks, and although not the lightest, you could play football with them on top of Scafell Pike and they'd probably only look better for it!
We saw this tent on Bushman & Blue's channel and really liked it, so to see another positive review is great. Value for money? For the dual-opening and the fact it will last for 20 years or more, yes.
Appears to be a winner in many respects as a 3-season, multi-use 2-person tent. It has a bit of an identity and cost issue scenarios. Materials... I'd relate are only so-so (ie. on the lighter duty side of things). Poles are definitely suitable branding, and likely diameter of 9.6mm (or perhaps even 10.25mm) if you feel they are on the oversize class = They are well made and strong. This tent in my opinion would be a niche-use 3-season that is primed for the unknowns weather and conditions wise such as shoulder seasons or when headed into unfamiliar places. I like the fly-first design. I like the overall geometry and simplicity. I like the said quality with attention to detail on manufacture. At $700ish asking... this is too much to spend on this tent. This tent could come with full zippered nylon doorways in addition to all the mesh making this a 3+ into 4-season offering and then $700 would be a more fair-minded asking. It's not like this tent is going for award-winning lightweight... so why not make it into what it really wants to be adding to its versatility.
It would also make the weight more acceptable. The tent in this form doesn't seem to be balanced.
Could you suggest an alternative tent that is similar to this at a lower price point? Or, a tent at this price point with the extras you've mentioned?
@@EugeneVanDam SlinginFin CrossBow 2 Four-Season would be in the hunt (all things considered) when available. Some might think this is some off-brand newbie.... however... this brand in actuality traces lineages to the best of the best designs of all time and well-proven greats. CrossBow 2 Four-Season is what I'd recommend (ticking the boxes) on all points of interest regarding the important specs I mentioned worthy to consider... and in reference to particulars of your question. If you can not find this available... Look at Stone Glacier SKYSCRAPER 2P --- 'Nearly' the same tent and manufacturers (very similar specs - look closely tho')... Stone Glacier is a hunting gear company. Hope this lends a hand.
$720 dollars seems a lot but if you camp a lot its not really that much for your second home.
As always, an absolute awesome review! I became a fan of yours not too long ago since I was getting back into backpacking. I went with a Teton Mountain Explorer 4000 after seeing your review for that pack and I absolutely love it! One thing I would love to see would be some more reviews on hammocks. Not just a basic hammock, but more of a good mixing of hammock/rain fly or tarp combinations.
Looks amazing. I can see it withstanding very heavy rain, hail, and strong winds. The two main cons of price and weight are what is holding it back however. I am comfortable spending at most 550 dollars or so on a two person tent that is three seasons. Would I love to have it? Sure, if I happen to get the money and remove some things from my bag to use it. But for now, it is just one of those dream tents that I have in my mind that I just cannot come around to buying.

Buying el-cheapo tents is a gamble that never pays off.
I expect most repliers that are belly aching about price have also had a tent blow down on top of then on a gusty windy night & will likely have other so-called "Less Expensive" tents blow down on top of them or simply stay home when the weather "might" get nasty.
Some price complainers have likely had to call Search & Rescue to save their sorry you-know-what because they pinched the pennies when they buy shelters that fail when needed most.
I bought & own a Hilleberg Enan because I want shelter I can depend on. Obviously price is of absolutely no concern, as it should be.
My friend has one of these tents. Awesome tent. Thought about getting one. My Eureka Expedition is alittle heavy(9lb.) for packing for two people. This tent reminds me of my Eureka but lighter. $700 and worth every penny. My Expedition is just like this but 3 person. I commented about my tent in your type of tents video. Yes I'm still using my tent from the middle 90s. Because I've taken excellent care of it. Subscribed your channel is the best review gear are awesome.

I've been to Abisko in Sweden and the place is f'ing magical! The closest gas station is either in Kiruna (took us 90 minutes to drive out there) or you need to cross to Norway (which we didn't). Now let me continue watching this video because I'm really curious how well they work :)

Great tent with some great features. But it's odd that it weighs slightly more than my Hilleberg Ajan GT 3 person tent. Is the Fjallraven worth it? I'd say yes if you're going to do more than some casual camping. Especially when you consider that some MSR, Nemo and Big Agnes cost the same if not more and are of lesser quality. I love my Hilleberg but it too was costly. For me it was worth it. I've got a very light weight Tarptent that I used for years but found it just wasn't that great in some circumstances. My Hilleberg is worth the extra weight.
I own a Hilleberg aktos, that has a lot of condensation issues, and is also an expensive tent but worth it....My next tent purchase will be this tent. I think its well worth the price...you get what you pay for....

But you said in the Mountainsmith tent that 5 pounds was too heavy for a backpacking tent. Hell, this is a pound heavier, and I'd put my Mountainsmith in any rain storm without hesitation for $600 cheaper
Helsport is also super! Had one for 8 years...finally the uv got it.... At about the fjonnfell model..but this model is also very nice!

Would be an instant purchase at 2 pounds 8 ounces. In 2021, with Dyneema fabrics and ultralight hardware, this is quite achievable at this price level. Kudos though for the ventilation.

Can you say something more about the weather resistance, especially the rain/water resistance of this tent?

A lot of comments about the price point. I guess it is all down to usage and frequency. If this is a product you are going to be using frequently, spending several days/nights at a time, and the last thing you want is worry about the weather turning etc. Then yes, it is a good investment.
I have always been a proponent of careful spending, and if you are at the starting point in your hiking journey, or if this is something you do occasionally, and if you are happy to plan your trip(s) according to the weather, you can have a lot of fun in a £100 tent. Spending a lot does not equate to pleasure, but first you need to understand your needs, starting with your immediate needs. Then you can budget things forward. Anyway ... Great review by the way.
Planning on making a sleeping platform in the back of my 4runner, won't always be able to sleep in there so looking for a tent and that looks perfect. I live in a desert so that would allow nice airflow. It doesn't rain a lot here, but when it rains it pours. The price tag though is not something I can justify in my circumstances. The search continues I suppose.

Nice to know that u can get good quality…the price is steep though…is there 3 season tents with this quality without the big price tag ? Or is there a comparable tent with cons that wouldn’t be much of an issue for a more moderate price range ?…your description of the pros is really helpful knowledge when purchasing 👍🏼

I have to agree with your assessment: “heavy for a 2-person tent.”
Six pounds for a roomy 1-person tent. My Triplex is massive by comparison and weighs only 31 ounces, which includes 12 stakes. Even my BA Copper Spur HV UL3 was about four pounds. Not sure who their target demographic is. Six pounds is the weight of some burly winter tents.
Yeah . I have a Marmot Bolt 2P at 2 lbs 7 oz , and a Z -Free Duo 30 oz's. So thinking the same as you .
Looks like a fantastic tent in many ways, I especially like how sturdy and weather resistant it seems to be. Is it for me? Hard call, but probably not. Why? I could not use it for two people (I'm big and need space) and is small for comforatable auto-campsite use on one hand, but it is not back pack or bike packing perfect either, as the weight is higher and the packed form factor is larger than ideal. For that price (which isn't crazy) I'd need it to check all the boxes. I can definitly see that it would be great for a canoe type adventure, or hunting...
I have the abisko lite 1. Superb tent. If you can afford it they are worth the money. A lot cheaper than hilleberg in europe.
Fjellreven and Helsport - great tentmakers ! I have used and own several of Fjellreven tents - 100 % quality ! Same goes for the Norwegian Helsport !

If you go out on extreme adventures then yeah, it´s worth every cent!

Top of my short list for my camping plans in the UK.
Do you buy a cheap tent 2, 3, 4, times or a really good one once. Probably spending about the same. I always buy the best I can just once.
I wouldn't want to have to carry that weight far, but it would be awesome for warm-weather car camping. I use a Nordisk Oppland for car camping, and it's great for cool, rainy weather, with a big vestibule perfect for getting in and out of rain gear, or cooking in the rain. This tent would have similar quality but with more ventilation and better in summer.
If it were a modular 4 season tent, I might go $800. It's difficult to make a value call based on perception alone, but I might go as high as $500 for this tent.
nice tent, id personally get some steel pegs as ive had a bad time with aluminum pegs, they were the only ones that broke during a big storm i was in with my snugpack ionosphere

Man I love your Reviews.I love that tent That costs $700.00 bucks.I know its made great.But that price should be 400.00 In my opinion.I can get a 4 season Big Horn Canvas with a stove Jack for 700.Not light weight.I can afford 700 but I would buy the military light Fighter or USMC version.I can tell that's a great tent.Price is to much for me.But I love your Reviews and you and your wife are great people.Be safe.Mark from Ky.

G'day Luke, pretty much the perfect tent for my climate. No snow where I go, but I assume it'd handle very heavy rain. Sorry if I missed it; have you had it in a decent downpour ?
Could well serve as a one and done option for me. In that context the price aint so bad.
Free standing, yet solid, is very appealing, though no reason why it couldn't be tied off to a tree or two if necessary.
Yeah on the heavy side, but I'd rather carry the extra to negate the chance of failure.

Is it worth it? 9 trips out of 10, very possibly not. The 10th trip, however, is the one where you would happily have paid double for the confidence that your tent will stand up to what's being thrown at it.
One thing worth mentioning is that this tent has a fairy large footprint for a 2-person: 3 x 2.4 metres.
I went camping a Lake of the Woods and that weekend a tornado hit an area far from us but the wind was crazy. We had a typical $100 Canadian Tire tent and we had to stay up all night holding it us qnd bracing it because we could hear it ripping. A hilleberg or likely this would have laughed that off. For any regular campers well worth it if you take care it

On my current insufficient budget, I probably wouldn’t buy this.
But if it increases a little, I can see the value in the price.
I don’t think I could do better myself even if I had patterns to copy it.

If it was the last 3 season tent I ever needed to buy? Definitely worth it. I replace $150-200 tents about once decade. If this tent became hand down-able? Worth it.
Thanks for the tent review. Not for me though, as I backpack and portage with lighter equipment. 6 lbs is a lot for a 2 person tent. $700+ is a lot too. I use the Dan Durston X-Mid 2p when which is exceptionally weather/wind proof, less than 2.5 lbs, and less than $300... but it is not free standing which doesn't bother me.

Looks like a great tent and if it’ll last a lifetime I can see spending the money. Too bad it’s out of stock on their website. I might try eBay though I doubt I’ll find it there
