So true. It's great to clean up environment but now these companies are just taking advantage of people. I'll stick to my 400 mile range on an efficient gas model.
The ONLY way to test these trucks is by towing a trailer that's within their towing capacity spec and see how many miles they can go. So far, the Lightning and Cybertruck SUCK in terms of range towing a trailer. It wouldn't surprise me that the Chevy and Rivian also suck.
You wanna buy every single car they review! You don’t need a full size luxury suv or a minivan! Unless it’s for a large family, but for daily driving, an accord, Camry, Corolla or other sedans are what you need.
Lots of change in these markets. What's the best overall bang for the buck in about August of 2024? Assume a lease so that we can "assume in" EV subsidies?
Thanks for the great review gentlemen! One massive sized pick up truck. I like some of the features and looks, but I’m not an EV fan so it wouldn’t fit my lifestyle! I’m sure plenty of buyers will enjoy it! Especially the extra range it has. Chat again soon!
I'm almost certain that the gas version will get the same 17" infotainment screen next year. Chevy seems to be putting it in all their large vehicles (and the 11" version in their smaller cars). Makes sense to standardize, since it cuts costs. Besides, it looks great. I still think it's dumb that they aren't doing Carplay and Android Auto for the EV versions... but otherwise it's one of the bigger and better screens in the industry right now.
@@tyalderdice4980Out of Spec Reviews did a towing competition with the work truck trim and the other EV trucks over the Rocky Mountains. This went twice as far as everything else.
It’s nice. Interior was made with cheaper materials than gas Silverado. But the price is crazy, rather wait a couple of years. My 4 cyl 2.7 full fill my needs.
The RST interior is nice but the Work Truck interior seems a total afterthought and seems GM engineers rushed development. Not cohesive at all in design language to the rest of the truck. GM made a $105k vehicle but all the R&D costs seems to have gone in the propulsion systems development and exterior development.
Up side down world when Chevy is making better cars than Toyota. Congratulations GM it only took 60 years to start getting your act together maybe in another decade I might buy one of your vehicles.

I'm a huge GM owner. I've had my Chevy Avalanche 2003 for 16 years. GM blew it by not giving Avalanche owners an updated Avalanche instead of this EV, which is a very expensive version that most folks can't afford. Ugh. Let me give the marketing genius some insight. There are a lot of very loyal Avalanche owners waiting for an Accelerated or Hybrid Avalanche.
Right now, none.of the trim levels get the tax credit. I was going to buy a wt4 but found out from the dealer that it doesn't qualify. Some recent law changes take affect 7/2024 so hopefully it will qualify again shortly.
It's a battery SUV with bed. You know why diesel is very efficient for towing? This will have trouble towing to do truck things. The good thing is this thing is probably for 95% of people.
I noticed that GM’s electric lineup is expensive as hell but the quality doesn’t match the price. The whole lineup is kinda stale and boring. Yes, it has the size of a 100k vehicle, the looks and the power but when you pay this much for something you’re mainly gonna be inside of I would expect the cabin to be top notch. Rubber and plastic is mean’t for cheap cars and 94 thousand isn’t cheap. Plus on top of that, you have to hard to get people to want to buy this. Electric trucks already get bashed enough because they aren’t ran on gas and im sure quite a few people aren’t willing to get this because of the Quality and the price chevy is asking for it. The main reason for that is because GM already has 2 other luxury divisions and they save the better quality for them. For instance the new traverse RST and the new Acadia Denali can be priced similiarly and the Acadia will still have the better quality than the traverse. Its definitely a deal breaker when you look at what chevy offers vs its competition at least for me.
This would fit in my garage np…it’s 24’ deep 3 car garage BUT I rather have my 22 tundra trd pro lunar rock with red interior 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 the rarest tundra color combo very low production made

I like this truck and I think Chevy did a pretty good job. Great range and exterior styling but I think they missed a few opportunities here. Especially considering the price. The interior is a bit of a let down especially the rear seat materials. No fully powered tailgate or running boards. No button inside the front trunk?! And what is with EVs having these ridiculous fixed glass roofs instead of a normal roof or sunroof that opens?? Hoping the Sierra EV will right some of these wrongs.
That interior is way too basic for that price. Hard touch rear doors? I like the truck, but what's warranting that price? Probably the humongous battery, but they should offer a lower 300 range version at a better price point.
Just like the ICE pickup trucks, *gm* has separated themselves from the other domestic brands and it’s in the design, engineering, and attention to detail. The only domestic brand I’d spend this kind of money with is *gm* and Tesla but Elon seems to be light years behind these folks in the styling and design department. When the next generation of _Ultium_ is released and their new battery chemistry is when they will make Tesla obsolete.
Pretty insane to see how scuffed up the cheap plastic is throughout the trick. I would think everything inside and out would be a more durable material.
The Lithium Ion batt must cost at least half the MSRP. I can’t afford recent ICE powered trucks and certainly will never afford one of these. Biden blocks affordable Chinese vehicles with sky high taxes. I don’t think this plan to save the planet is sustainable. 😢
Besides unreasonable pricing, short life spans for daily use, as well as short overall life expectancies… the way gearing is so easily accessible and dangerously easy for the driver, passengers, kids or pets to accidentally bump the truck into or out of gear. In this particular auto the driver is the most likely one to make those accidental adjustments thinking they are adjusting cruise, turning on windshield wipers, blinkers, etc etc, especially for people who own or drive multiple vehicles each day, plus autostart upon entry is horrifying.
This would’ve been a good time for chevy to call it an avalanche. It has a similar shape to it and since it doesnt share anything with the Silverado, why would they call it that… and yes the camera does justice to show how enormous it is. Its freaking huge
In 2020 when *gm* revealed the new 2021 Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon I immediately felt that although they looked great they could’ve went up another size or two to fill the wheel wells out better. It’s nice to see *gm* be the first domestic offering 24-inch OEM wheels and tires with nice tread. It feels like *gm* is finally distancing themselves from every other manufacturer in the industry and A LOT of it is just within their styling and design philosophy. This truck makes the Ford Lightning look cheap as hell in design alone for practically *the same money.* That’s even before considering the differences in tech and then performance.
