Circle of Life is one of my favorite songs ever. Since I watched the trailer for Lion King prior to its release, every time I hear it, even if it’s just the first few notes, I always get chills.
The movie version is amazing, but honestly I love the Broadway version so much more. Every time I've seen the production live it never fails to make me tear up.
Love the Lion King. Saw an Animal Kingdom performance in Disney of some of the songs in 1998. It moved me to tears. Then I saw it on Broadway, and I wasn't impressed.
same. I always thought it was a great song but I never really paid attention. But when I listened to the Broadway version for the first time, I was blown away and am underwhelmed by the movie version. I love how on Broadway, Rafiki always has this prominent and almost raw sounding voice. And the broadway version is a lot more collaborative than the film with all of the actors building off each other and you can't get through the first verse without crying.
Yes the song still holds and Disney gets a lot of credit but it is Elton John who wrote this and I still love it. The stage production is out of this world.
There's an orchestral version of this that I've been listening to on a loop since at least yesterday. It's got almost 3.2 million views. Check it out if you haven't already. Non-stop goosebumps and chills. Your ears will be in heaven.
This song and this movie will always be one of the best Disney has put out. Two of my personal favorite songs comes from the movie Brother Bear; namely “Look Through My Eyes” and “Great Spirits” (Phil Collins version). I always find a reason to come back to those two songs even today. I would love to hear your perspective on it.
IM GOING TO FINALLY EXPERIENCE THE LION KING (1994 VERSION) in theaters!!!!! I have seen this movie many times, but tomorrow FINALLY GOING TO SEE AND EXPERIENCE THE CLASSIC IN THEATERS I WAS BORN IN 1998 so I unfortunately didn’t get the chance to see it in theaters but that’s going to change tomorrow!!!!!!!! I saw the broadway ish show 10 YEARS AGO IN PITTSBURGH AND 4 YEARS FOR THE LIVE ACTION THE LION KING IN THEATERS!!!!
Oh 💯% holds up! You need to do Don’t You Forget About Me. There is nothing more iconic then watching Judd Nelson fist pump walking across that football field!
It does hold up. It is my all time favorite Disney Movie. I agree I like the Elton John version better I think there is a video that he is playing this song while they are flipping through a sketch pad (how they used to do it lol) so it would be the like the first step of making the movie that's what I get out of it
What’s crazy is that no matter our views on politics, or sports teams, or opinions on food, we can all agree that the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead. In all seriousness, I love that music may be the only thing that can bring anyone together anymore (Disney in particular)
There's a big bias as I think it will hold up for folks from 35 to 45 yo... but if we play it for millenials... they might simply say it's good as their legendary Disney song might be "let it go" which wouldn't move you guys much.
No other Disney song gives me chills like The Circle of Life no matter how many years have passed it still gives me chills.
i'm instantly a little child again, sitting in the cinema, smiling from ear to ear
-Deep, profound lyrics
-Powerful singing
-Beautiful animation
This scene is Disney’s masterpiece. The GOAT.
FOR A MOVIE THAT WILL BE TURNING 30 YEARS OLD NEXT YEAR, STILL FREAKING HOLDS UP!!!!!
THE ANSWER IS IT ABSOLUTELY DOES, STILL INCREDIBLY WELL!!!!

I saw a live version at Disney World 2008. Was awesome. Went on my 49th birthday.
I can’t remember if it was the Broadway or London cast, but the one that was done….I wanna say on a plane or in the airport…was super cool.

Love this song! We are lucky enough to live close to the Kruger National Park in South Africa & get to see these amazing animals on a regular basis.

Definitely think it's one of the greatest Disney songs, maybe number one, but for me it's hell fire from the hunchback of notre dame.

Circle of life was alway going be a classic Disney song….
One of the best movies ever
I would have to say yes.
It's cool this song became more popular as Lion King song than as a Marilyn Monroe tribute song. I never liked her anyway but love Lion King.
Hello sir Brad just last night Stell of SB19 sang a Circle of Life in the opening of Disney Plus launching hope you could react to it

Elton John's version is so much better!
