As a man who hears my house and shop with 100% wood. You hit it right on the head with this one. I was actually venting to my wife last night about exactly what you’ve just talked about. So it’s nice to drink my coffee this morning and listen to it from another fello man.

I love cutting and splitting wood in the fall, it's cool out but not too cold and most of the bugs are gone. It does stink in this area that we almost always seem to have wind, we cannot escape it here.
Hey Chris im reading a great book at moment called ' Norwegian wood the scandinavian way' by Lars Mytting. It gets real cold in Norway so those guys know a bit about heating with wood. We got an inch of snow here at moment and the country comes to a standstill 😅

Well amen to all that chris you literally took the words outa my mouth.lol and probably had them in the same order, lol thanks for the video, are you getting this cold weather pattern that we in the south east are getting? Thanks again
Wish I was back home in SC lol. Hope I can make it back down soon. This snow up here has just been ridiculous. I have a bunch of wood too and of course people don't message me till its a blizzard lol. I just had one now wanting me to come deliver. I have a pile of snow that is 7 foot tall blocking me from even getting to the wood. Lake effect since Wed. Had another lake effect storm a couple weeks ago then it was 40-60 and now this storm both bad storms had people wanting me to deliver. I can't even get my truck out lol. It would take me a couple hours just to get the truck out and a path to the wood if I could get my tractor running and my tractor doesn't have a battery in it right now so lol. Should have messaged me when we weren't getting 1-2 foot of snow a day. Pretty early in the winter to be out of wood panicking. Especially when it hasn't really been cold it was 60 just a couple days ago
Morning from Pennsylvania chris! I feel you on the cold , today is a day full of putting splits into a bin and fixe my elevator that broke. Have great day man

I live in a very poor rural area and everyone has a truck and most have or at least have access to a trailer, so they want free delivery or maybe give you $10 for gas. Bugs! By far the worst part. I'll take the heat, the cold, the wind (if I must), and the rain but spare me the bugs. We don't have black flies but mosquitoes and chiggers in abundance.
I would have to say wind and cold is number one thing that is undesirable or just flat not doable to cut and obtain firewood. Having firewood in a pile or stack, ready to burn when it gets like that is a GOOD thing!!!
Pretty much, waiting for the sun to fire up the splitter and putting a new chain on the saw, plus 15 mph winds, 15 degrees and lake effect snow coming in.pure Michigan 😂😂😂
Good Morning. Many great reasons to dislike firewood. If I can add two more. One is a nosey neighbor. Two is we live seven miles west of Lake Michigan. The winter air is cold and damp in addition to the wind. The damp air goes right through every layer of clothing. If the sun is out, the temps will be around zero. If it is cloudy, things will be very cold and damp. I was cutting yesterday, and my chain oil viscosity flowed like sludge.
Help is good. I have some but I am not big enough (sales) for employees, I have had lots of them in my other business and I don't really want or need the extra hassle of other people again.
Everything in this world is replaceable except our time here! People are constantly telling me to be patient. I always reply I'm not a doctor and I don't have any patience an my time is very valuable ✌️
Stuff happens, but people who don't work or own their own equipment, do not understand!!! They think we just make Benjamins!!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Are you asking or telling??? I will deliver almost anywhere if a person is willing to pay me for delivery..what do you have in mind???? You can email me your phone number at chrisinthewoodyard@gmail.com to get it started.
for the producer who isn't well-established, the problem is the constant 'hustle'. where/how am i getting my next supply of logs/rounds? where/how am i gonna find buyers?
I stopped and grabbed you some pics of the dump bed insert yesterday. It looks like a solid unit. What is your email and I will send em out this weekend.
@InTheWoodyard Sounds good...When I get done with deliveries today. I will sit down and get them sent over. I know you all would rather have a sponsor, but maybe this could work in the meantime...
There is actually only one thing I hate about making-burning and selling firewood. That is if it is stolen! The problems you mentioned , I only dislike.

Hello!
Stay hydrated- don’t get dead!!
Yup, not getting dead is job #1!
🤘
Thanks!!!!!
the wind is the only thing that bugs me. cold and snow is ok if it's calm.
Yup!!!
I will definitely take the cold over wet! Mud and water make for a very unhappy woodyard.😢
No doubt about it!
I slow down when it's hot, and speed up when its cold...;^)
Yup, same here!
Firewood is alot of work 😅
yup, it is that!
I hate dumping my ash pan in the wind. I love antiques I just don't like looking like one ✌️
Those are some good ones!
the wind, yuppers. it moves through you.
Yup, she offers a good heat cleansing ya might say!
Pretty much, waiting for the sun to fire up the splitter and putting a new chain on the saw, plus 15 mph winds, 15 degrees and lake effect snow coming in.pure Michigan 😂😂😂
Yup, it was 9 here this morning with 15mph winds....so like -15 now.....PURE WINTER! icky!!!
I cut yesterday too!!.... I used my 572xpG it has heated handles....worth every penny!!!
Yup...other people are usually a problem too!
Ya windchill is the worst. Getting the wood out of real thick woods. Trying to cut with dull chain.
Yup...it is a -15 wind chill here now!
Original battery? Over three years old? 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Sorry I do not know what you are referring to...that video was 3 weeks ago for me now...
@@InTheWoodyard Tractor battery...
Sounds like you could do with an employee
Help is good. I have some but I am not big enough (sales) for employees, I have had lots of them in my other business and I don't really want or need the extra hassle of other people again.
Everything in this world is replaceable except our time here! People are constantly telling me to be patient. I always reply I'm not a doctor and I don't have any patience an my time is very valuable ✌️
Yup, the clock does not stop...ever!
@@InTheWoodyard when it does I'll be back to that ash problem again one last burn 🔥😬
Stuff happens, but people who don't work or own their own equipment, do not understand!!! They think we just make Benjamins!!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Yup...some think people are just waiting for us to let them fill our pockets!
You don't have enough time for a 100 mi. delivery. As much as your largest trailer will hold.
Are you asking or telling??? I will deliver almost anywhere if a person is willing to pay me for delivery..what do you have in mind???? You can email me your phone number at chrisinthewoodyard@gmail.com to get it started.
My least favorite thing to do in the woodyard is cleaning up the splitting debris and chainsaw chips.
I totally agree with cleaning up. But it's nesserey.😉👍
Yup, but it does look good when done!
yup
for the producer who isn't well-established, the problem is the constant 'hustle'. where/how am i getting my next supply of logs/rounds? where/how am i gonna find buyers?
That is true for everyone...customers come and go and so do wood supplies....the only constant thing in life is change.
@@InTheWoodyard seems like guys like you are pretty well set tho :)
Yep when your time is up, thats it.
Moms 15 year battle with cancer, came to a end Dec 31th 2024
Sorry to hear that. We lost our mom to cancer March 31 2021.
And just think you have more to add to the list of oopsys
I stopped and grabbed you some pics of the dump bed insert yesterday. It looks like a solid unit. What is your email and I will send em out this weekend.
Yup...sadly I do.
you can send it to me and I can get it to Bert..chrisinthewoodyard@gmail.com
@InTheWoodyard Sounds good...When I get done with deliveries today. I will sit down and get them sent over. I know you all would rather have a sponsor, but maybe this could work in the meantime...
@waynetharp i did put my email address in but apparently it doesn't let me put it in. My email should be listed on my channel
Good morning woodhounds
Hello James!
There is actually only one thing I hate about making-burning and selling firewood. That is if it is stolen! The problems you mentioned , I only dislike.
Yup, that can be an issue!
Beautiful day here: 4 degrees F and a strong breeze, -16 wind chill. Jan. 4, 2025
Yup, It's about the same here!
👍🏻🪵💲🪓👏
Thanks!!!
Come on "Scrooge" No younger folks over there that can help out for a few green bills? LOL I know wood is a lot of work I have helped a local farmer and have done my own for a few years.
Yup, wood is work!
More work, less talk is what's needed.
If you want to see some work there are over 1600 videos on this channel showing work get done.
Talk about hateful firewood production. Where did the time, wood, money, nice weather go? GNI
Yup, it is called winter!!! It helps sell wood but also makes it harder to work in!
Bug season is the worst.
It can be in the woods here too.
Hey. Chris baby.money.making. Man
Hello there Sir Ralphy Baby!
If it was easy, you wouldn’t be doing it.
Good point! Easy is for children.
Then film less, work more
I make way more money with the videos than firewood.
Doing RUclips takes time too😀
Yup.....a lot of time!
Stay warm Chris! Windchill here is -40°, kinda glad we haven't got the processor yet. ☕️🪵🔥
Stay warm!
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
