It feels so in character for Spawn to just say "No" and leave. He just doesn't want to be bothered by some weird animals I mean... Kind of... I haven't read any Spawn comics in 2 years so i probably forgot some things
I don't care what anyone thinks, that Sonic/Spawn crossover comic was fucking DOPE when I read it for the first time as a kid back in the 90s and I still love it to this day and always will. We will NEVER get official Sonic media as wild as the Penders-era Archie Sonic comics and that honestly makes me kind of sad.
I met Jim Valentino at a con and had him sign my personal copy of the book. Here's what he told me: While the story about doing it for his kids is _technically_ true, really he did it because he really wanted an in at Archie Publications, because he badly wanted to draw their flagship Archie series. After being told that, I started noticing that the Archie character actually can be seen in several crowd shots throughout the book, and also on one kid's t-shirt.
The way Sonic and Spawn crossed over is like if Doom Guy suddenly showed up in the newest Mario game to kill a single goomba and then just leaves. Truly the cross over of all time.
How i would have done spawn Have him give a lead first then go: i'll find you if i discover something else He finally appears again to wreck ian droid's body And then gives sonic and friends the way out There
I’ve heard about the Sonic and Mega Man crossover comics but I didn’t realize the Sonic Archie Comics had other crossovers too. Crossover comics can be good if done right, but this one seemed to be all over the place throwing characters at you left and right without proper context. And the background on Ian Droid sounds way too complicated and confusing. Thinking about it makes my head spin.
This comic is an absolute mess and totally is all over the place. The structure isn't well done and when you realize that it's a backdoor pilot things start making sense. Ian Droid, to this day, absolutely baffles me. There isn't a single point in the entire comic that he, or anyone else, says his name and I have no idea how that made it past the editors lol
Such a waste of a crossover imo, there was so much potential for them to make really cool Spawn crossover but no Mr Delusional manchild wanted to his OC’s to be involved with the crossover instead.
Why didn't ken penders just use the Stan Lee method of small vignette that says: this character is Ian droid, remember him!
Lol that would have been perfect! I'm not sure why it was so poorly handled
@@FantasticSamtastic honestly i think Ken penders often is a better writer than modern Marvel DC comics
But he's sometimes hard to understand
I seen this crossover before when linkara reviewed sonic comic when Sonic met with spawn which was interesting.

Spawn meeting Shadow would be a treat to watch
I would be all for that

A truer comparison has never been made

He also had a crossover with Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

If it wasn't a forced backdoor pilot for a comic no one knew about it might have actually been really cool
Well researched sam
Thanks!
Shouldn't spawn at least help the team a bit by giving them a leas or something
You'd think they'd use his character a little bit more lol
Imagine if Sonic and friends also encountered Billy Kincaid
Lol now that would be dark!
Yeah that would be one nightmare for a comic.
@@theshenpartei especially for Cream
Never knew this existes
Archie Sonic cómics ARE weird
Very!
Does that mean hell is canon to Archie sonic?
There are certain arcs that make me feel like I'm in hell lol
Wonder if Angstrom Levy went to the Archie Sonic universe at one point

Batman
Spiderman
…Mario? Popeye?
Good guessing!
