Don't tell anyone, but I think I am sheep-obsessed! I often watch an episode over, just to see your fluffy pets! All of them, but Shona is absolutely ADORABLE.💞🐑🐑🐑
Oh WOW! The blooms! Speechless!
yeah!!!!
Katie you were a busy bee and working hard. The flowers are beautiful on the island. Shona is precious walking and running beside y’all outside. Love you both ❤️🤗
Wonderful putting entertainment back into Sundays thank you Katie and Scott xx
Moss Tickler indeed . Viewing channel shorts to lift my spirits. Focus on yourselves and little family...then your personalities shine through in the midst of all your hard work!! Thank you for continuing to share your journey with us.
Yes. 30 minutes is easier to digest. Then the week will be twice as sweet!
The way your little lamb Shona jumped up and down in response to you & playing is soooo cute!!! You’re like sheep whisperers! The birds chirping, caterpillars and nature is all so beautiful. I’m impressed with how you’re tackling the damp! I love the way you (both?!) “Talk funny”!!!
Two a week….fantastic. Shona is such a devoted pet. Talk about the children’s rhyme…..Mary had a little lamb. But in this case it is Katie has a little lamb. What a joy to see her bouncing along thought the gorgeous scenery. Your island home just gets prettier and prettier as the summer comes along.
To me, in the USA, all of those are kayaks. Just some are 2 people kayaks. A canoe has 3 seats, one in the front one in the back and one in the middle (although some people remove the middle one) they are about just below knee deep on sides and just above knees on front and back. Usually, back person steers front paddles. (Well back person paddles too but is also the person steering. )
Good thing you all are going back to twice a week! I've been pining all the way to Sunday! I have my needs after all!
Just kidding really. You're both busy and I get it. You're both doing a great job! Thank you.
Jim taught ye well lass! Good job!
She is doing really well, I have shown a few people how to do this but she has been the fastest at picking it up and doing a great job 😊
I expect Scott will become the local, legendary pirate to the canoeing kids.
I too found the moss tickler hilarious
Another beautiful episode. Love watching your dear little lamb growing and bouncing all over the place. The flowers are so beautiful. Looking forward to more fishing.
Hi to you both . So thrilled to have you back on Sundays , Thankyou . Just love watching all the amazing things you are doing to improve your cottage .
Those flowers were beautiful , who needs The Chelsea flower show , when you have those on your doorstep 🙏.
Look forward to seeing you soon. 😘
Yippe glad Wednesday&Sunday thank you😊
Shona is getting so big and playful. Thank you for another gheerful video.
It will be a great day when people don’t live just to impress each other anymore. I agree with Scott that those boaters are more than annoying to say the least.
But, I love your channel and thank you for sharing snippets of your lives. You two bring a much needed respite. Thank you so very much ❤
what sundays are aboot. , cheers folks. great show
Great to have a second vlog this week🖐🇺🇸
Showing all your skills 😊. Great job on the interior wall, also out front to prevent damp 😊. Tgank you for sharing your lives x
Hi! Peeps, the color of the flowers were bold. So beautiful to look at. Mother Nature so very clever. It's like a blessing for the eyes! Thank you for filming them. Helen from Scotland! Love n light to you all! Xxx❤
Absolutely correct on the opening of Gladiator. Russell Crowe explained the fascinating back story to that opening sequence during an interview with Howard Stern. It is on RUclips…you might enjoy it! Much ❤️ from Canada.
Scott - I don't want to be repetitive
Katie - You said that before 😂 ❤
Hey yall 😘 from the Schmids in KY😊
"They like me better" 😂Poor old Scott. I love the way Shorna frolics. SO adorable. And the flowers are looking absolutely stunning! Glad you're back on twice a week xx Teresa 🇦🇺♥
The shots of the flowers were glorious everything looks more advanced that here in the North of England ! My late husband always said if he won the lottery he would buy a Scottish Island and a shotgun to keep people away he would definitely have approved of Scott's rant at the idiots in the boats 😊
So AMAZING Kate & Scott your ventures in the boat are going to be awesome can't wait! Thank you for sharing such fun with both of you on the wonderful island. As well i love old books Real Books to see your beautiful library Scott !
Cant wait to see your book collection Scott! (If you're willing to share that is?)
What a lovely afternoon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and even more so because of your video. Precious little Shona is such a darling. Thank you!
The two of you complain about it being too hot and I fully believe that with all the warm clothing you're wearing, it must be sweltering. Katie, I would collapse if I wore tights at this time of the year. Your dress appears to be quite warm--wool?? Scott, your jacket and hat seem awfully uncomfortable as well as your footwear. I'm usually running on the cool side and need more clothing when the temps get down under 55 degrees. I checked the Hebrides temperature at this time and it's 52 degrees with the humidity at 95%. Our current temperature is 69 degrees and the humidity is 41% with the dew point at 45 degrees. It's the high dew point that really kills me rather than the humidity. I live very close to Lake Michigan and it's cooler here in the summer (usually) than it is 5 + miles inland. I really really don't like feeling wet and that's what a high dew point (50+ degrees) does. It makes it very difficult to even breathe. That same reading when the temperatures drop makes it feel very cold. But right now I'm comfortable in a t-shirt and light pants.
Well, enough of my boring comments. Thanks again for sharing. It is so interesting to see other parts of the world and the landscapes and atmospheres. Blessings to you both.
Glad it's not just me it's happened to, happy to help when I can.
Among the flower shots, I think I saw some beautiful azaleas like we have here in Alabama, USA. Nice video!
Lovely looking flowers, shauna she is growing up fast, sweet ,good video so relaxing
The sheep are like big, lovely, lazy dogs. The island is more beautiful everyday. Thanks for the episode. I like 2 a week, 1 a week, whatever works for you. Also Scott I like you very much. Cheers.
hope we get a shot of all Scott's books when they are in place
Look at the little happy baby belly on Shona! She's getting so big so fast!
Hi Just watched the latest episode and I like both film lengths. Thank you Katie for showing all the different techniques and admiration to whoever built your cottage for the skill involved. Beautiful flowers, scenery, animals etc. Delightful. 🐏🐑🐑🐈⬛🐈⬛
Yay happy to see the Sunday video return! It's a better rime for me to watch and something to look forward too on the weekend 😊
Oh my goodness!!! Are all those flowers considered wild flowers there or have some, like the azalea, been introduced? They are absolutely beautiful. What an incredible place to call home.
I look forward to seeing all your books on the book shelves.
Thanks for another great vlog. Enjoyed the longer ones but also missed the 2 weekly ones, you have to decide what is best for you both. Sometimes you will be very busy doing stuff on the island and may not have the time to edit 2 episodes. People will fully understand xx
Dig down by wall and Put gravel next to wall as a French drain. As ever you’ve worked so hard.
I love your channel! Katie, I also love your hat. Any chance we can get that in the States? 🤗🐑🐑🐑🐈⬛🐈⬛
Twice weekly 🌟
Suits me better tbh
Lovely lamb shots ❤️
Thank you - love you guys.
Hello Katie & Scott, I enjoyed this video this week, and every week. Great job to you both on making progress, in the restoration of your home. I enjoy seeing the episodes of you doing so. Also watching little Shoshanna I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing her name right? Or even if I have the name right ?.. But she is growing up to be so cute. I love watching her bounce around and how she follows Katie. As if Katie were her mother. I'm sure that's how this baby sheep is looking at it. That Katie is her mother. Looking forward to the next video Thank you so much.
The hand guard is on the chisel for a reason, yes I'm going there! 😉
🤦🏻♀️
Thank you so much for sharing your extraordinary lives. I spoke lo9k forward to your vlogs!
Hi there all so happy to be here😊!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Katie and her little Lamb 🐑 so cute
love the ercol chair - im a fan of ercol.
Thank you for another lovely video. We’re happy to see you again two days of the week. We love both!! of you! “Man of the woods” 😊from the “two sisters of the woods,” Northern Wisconsin, USA.
Hello! Thanks for the live
Shauna is SO sweet ❤who could ever eat a little lamb? And Katie I love your dress
Unfortunately a lot of people ooh and aah over the beautiful lambs then the next day will be eating lamb for their roast dinner. Cognitive dissonance caused by brainwashing when children.
I have never been in a night club.
Hello from the rocky mid-coast of Maine, US. Sunday May 19th,2024.

When you put your lime mix on the plasterers hawk just spread one side down of the mortar with you trowel onto the hawk and you will find it will hold the lump of mortar onto the board for you so you can be confident in your “flick” as it will be less likely to slip off.
Nice video again folks 😊
Thank you Katie and Scott for another awesome video! Love from Maine, USA!❤
Hi ya'll from North Florida USA 😊
Thank you Scott and Katie, this was another very enjoyable episode. If I might make a suggestion as someone who has instructed (and enjoys) sea kayaking (and I am a little ' envious' , because you are living in the perfect spot for it), please consider two kayaks rather than a double. Two kayaks provide a much greater margin of safety. They enable the opportunity for 'rafting-up' (search RUclips) and the opportunity for rescues if you practice capsize and rescue drills (search RUclips), and you should. I can't emphasise that enough. It is an immensely enjoyable pursuit and perfect for exploring your surrounds.
Thanks for the advice, Euan. We'll definitely take what you write onboard (no pun intended).
@@TheScottishIsle REI and NRS have a few good videos online. Look at a 't'-rescue (still 'in' kayak, seated upside down) and a 't'-rescue with a 'wet exit' etc. You may also find a few from BCU and/ or SCA providers. Also, the public pool in ... and ... may have a kayak training policy (I have used one of them for training before running trips on the Caledonian Canal). You may be able to practice rescues there in warm indoor conditions. There is likely to be a local kayak/ sea kayak club who can help and advise you if you can't transport them from the island. Enjoy. It's all rather good fun.
Well done for seeing them idiots off Scott and the lamb looks stunning what a life she's gonna have well done to you both
And Katie, your two note reference to Jaws did not go unappreciated....
I’ve sent you something from your list. I wasn’t going to mention anything, but then I remembered that sometimes your deliveries are problematic so I thought you may want to be on the lookout for it. You will want to take the quad and trailer to pick up your mail around the 28th. I always watch you and wish I lived nearby so that I could lend a hand or a tool, but since I can’t I hope this will help.
Wow, thank you so much, that sounds really exciting!! Kx ❤️ 😃 We are so very grateful that you'd do that, can't wait to see!
Oh… it shows they delivered your package early, it says it arrived today. I hope it got delivered correctly.
@@heidigraham2532 Hi Heidi! We collected the bench-saw only an hour ago from the mainland. We've yet to check it completely, but all looks in perfect order. We both cannot thank you enough for your generosity. This piece of kit will help us out immensely. The first job will be cutting the wood removed from the kitchen for shelving in Scott's office. Again, thank you! 🙂
Scott, how are you going to protect your books from the damp in the cabin before you get the dehumidifier and heater? I'm a book lover myself, though mine are not as posh as yours, just books I love and want near me. So, I'm worried about your books.
Katie, I love watching you with Shona! She's a treasure and you're so sweet with her.
I'm going to have to get myself a book on the wildflowers of Scotland so I know what's what. :-)
Thank you for bringing me along
The canoe is actually a kayak, hope you have the correct paddles for it as well. Should be a lot of fun….not much room for the fish when you catch them though. A canoe would actually have a place for a bucket.
I remember who makes your high boots who makes the boots you have on now really like them😊
I like you both equally lol! 😂
Hello, From the USA. Katie, Scott you both do a wonderful job. I would like to ask a favor, if it is doable. The flowers and other plants you show are very nice, but I find that I have on idea what they are, so it would be nice if through voice over or a banner you could identify them it would be very nice.
Get out in the kayaks if you can and you'll get a good view of an eagles nest nearby .😊
You should have called Shona Lucky , as she is one lucky lamb living out her days on the Scottish Isle with you and your other animals . Beautiful filming of the island as always and the different plant colours and varieties is amazing . Wondering what the expletives were from Scott to the rowdy canoeists , did it contain two t’s or something worse? 🤣
Lucky Shona (why not both)
What beautiful flowers you have growing around your Isle.
I’m so happy I don’t eat lamb because Shona has stolen my heart❤️
Lovely video like watching them
Loved the video thank you xx
Ooo! A catamaran! That will give you some summer boating fun!
So close to 40K 🥳 Oh, you might want to get 1 or 2 pontoons for the canoe, they're a game changer, esp for larger canoes & choppy water. My friend has a lightweight retractable kit w/a bar connecting them together, that allows her to slide them both in & out (just clamped on, so you won't damage the canoe) also easier to carry if you can pull them in. just a thought. Cheers! Pat/Yukon
We're having serious issues with RUclips promoting our channel now. Channel growth has become very slow indeed.
One place in the UK that is lovely
Those are Kayaks not canoes. They are ocean kayaks and tippy so be careful in it.
love the plastering - I actually want to learn how to do this and watching you do it has given me confidence !
Katie is much prettier. She deserves more screen time! 😂
Put herbs like rosemary
Great episode tonight, thanks and second brush is on its way, sorry.
Yay!! Curious. Can you tell which country most tunes into your channel?
It's 50-50, between the UK and the US. Followed by Australia.
The Rest of Canada needs to WAKE UP maybe it's only folks from Nova Scotia 😅🇨🇦
Nope, I am in Manitoba.😊
From Calgary. It was great hearing her stories of outside Calgary.
@@glenysperry3421 Anywhere near Thomson?. I lived there for a year in the 70s when my uncle emigrated and took up a post with INCO.
❤🐑
I can’t believe how big Shona has gotten. Such an adorable little lamb.
I'm told sharks like the colour red - screaming red.
I think being able to relax while enjoying the scenery and music twice a week will be wonderful. Think Scott needs some training for when he is within 500 yards of youth. Did you see the northern lights?
Nope, we missed them here...
Shone is growing so fast. Nice work with the mortar Katie. Are you using the new camera yet ??
We're learning!
Dogwood & azalea
Surely you don’t disagree with the law allowing “Right to Roam “? You could open a tea shop and make a fortune.
I'm from Ontario
😊
In the USA those are kyaks
I'm sorry the boaters have chosen the route that goes by your paradise. Any chance of getting a device that chucks small mines or hand grenades out that far? They might decide on a different route....😊But seriously, is it possible to find out the name of the boating company and lodge a complaint about the rude ones? The front of the house looks wonderful, Katie. Is there some wild flowering thing that sheep won't eat that could grow there? Shauna has about doubled in size since last week - well done, you two! There's nothing cuter than a young 4 legged thing scampering about in the spring. Scott, I can't wait to see your office in the cabin when you get it to your idea of an acceptable state. And yes, when you can get back in front of the camera! Thanks so much for your wonderful videos - I enjoy them so much.
It would be good to film rowing a trip around the island in the canoe, to convince the doubters.
The wall looks good.
Hope to see the wildflower garden in bloom soon.
I was curious, you reference every now and again about the land owner. Are you two renting the property or are caretakers of it for the owners?
We're the caretakers! Kx
What ever happened to the beautiful original flag stone? Where did they go?
Well, they were either moved outside to make a path, then later discarded 😔 or they were never there in the first place and it was a packed earthen floor. Kx
On the photos i sent you, you can see a flag stone path in front of the cottage.
