Yeah... I can blame you. Having traveled quite a bit in my life, I have found a lot of loud, arrogant, stupid people everywhere I went - but most weren't. The difference is not in kind as much as how much attention gets paid to a country, and how much content about them is out there. I will admit that, at the moment, we seem to be in the lead in the Special Olympics. Britain tried to beat us with Brexit and Boris, but Americans are WINNERS and we were not going to lose the war of bad ideas. Credit where credit is due though, in the course of 20 years we gave the world the "gift" of GW Bush, and many of us here and abroad thought we couldn't ever be that dumb again, and we said "hold my beer" and elected Trump. Suddenly Brexit and Boris looked downright reasonable.

Mr. Crowder, thank you for posting this. This set shows you are clever, witty, and some people agree. I like how you woo with several flavors of social commentary laced with mild humor until the audience is primed to go along for a ride closer to the one they might get from one of your in-the-car-monologues. I always benefit from those. They are tight and demonstrate your powers of communicating social critique, political analysis, and insight with seriously hard core humor. Thank you!
Are you perhaps over compensating for a southern drawl there Andrea? Those words you "spoke with your device via RUclips comments" were quite perfectly joined together to complete a thought I could not have said better! Well said indeed!
Funny thing about the horse. I am a hospice nurse in Northern New Mexico and I have had several patients hallucinate horses over the years. Might just be the families going back to the Conquistadors or not but it sure made the horse funny.
My Papaw was one of the wisest, kindest, friendliest, highly educated, highly analytical, deeply logical, empathetic, and truly caring individuals I've ever known... He also loved to tell racist jokes.🤦♂ He wasn't mean or hateful, he went out of his way to help people in need, no matter what race or religion. He despised violence of any kind and stressed to me the importance of respect and education for every man, woman, and child. He was an old-school, traditional Republican, but looking back, he was one of the most progressive-minded people I can remember being in my life at the time. I know for a fact that he wasn't a racist person. He worked and served alongside many men of color throughout his life, and truly respected every one of them that I ever had the pleasure of meeting. But, he grew up down around Lawrence Co. TN in the 1930s, and he had grown up hearing every horrible and disgusting racist joke you could imagine. He got out young, joined the military, and then went to school. I hardly ever heard him utter a single curse word in any situation, but he would tell some of the, most heinous race jokes I've ever heard in my life. But, to his credit, he would also explain why they were not exactable to tell in public, why they were wrong, and how, when you think about it, they really weren't funny at all. I remember him saying, when I was a kid - "They sound funny, at first, because they're so ridiculous, until you start to think about it. Then you start to realize how easy it is for some people to be fooled into saying and doing terrible things. It's ok to laugh every now and then. But, don't ever let yourself start to believe any of it. You're smarter than that." I was lucky to have an actually wise old Papaw in my life... And, I sure do miss the old man. But, I'm glad he's not here to see what's going on here today. It would've broken his heart.
My papaw was a construction foreman who would sing the praises of his hard working “black” employees but couldn’t stand working with the “polacks” so progressive for his time! 🤣
Another Kiwi here. Not a fan of the royals or their empire....but.... slavery. The British changed their minds and told their Colonies to knock it off....that's when the USA started it's war for independence. Not a lot to do with paying taxes, or tea.🤷🏽♀️ Just history taught well. Our origin story is a bit different. And to be honest.... we haven't been great at teaching ourselves about our own history either 🤷🏽♀️
@@flangekiwi The Slave Trade Act of 1807 abolished the trade yet did not prohibit existing slavery allowing it to continue in the territories. In 1807 the USA banned the Atlantic Slave Trade but not internally. Five European nations followed the lead of the UK to abolish their slave trade within a decade. The UK parliament began the gradual abolition of the purchase and ownership of slaves in most of the Empire in 1833 about 30 years before the US Civil War and 57 years after 1776. Ceylon aka Sri Lanka, Saint Helena, and lands under the East India Company were excepted. Canada led the way in 1793 to reduce slavery there.

This special is great don't get me wrong, but I think his new show is even better! Love y'all like Chicken 🍗.
Robert, I don't think this was about laughing at ourselves; it's more about taking sides and laughing at The Other. Nothing wrong with that, but I would not call his humor, nor is message, Universal. Note the Nihilistic message of hopelessness at the the very end. And then he just walks off stage so that we can join in his darkness. It's seems quite clear to me that that's his real message. Cynicism as God. Superiority over the "idiots." Marxist culture replaces democracy. We must all get our children vaccinated immediately.
Trae's great. I'm Australian, but I wish he'd tour here. He'd do well here. We'd get his humour. We have a progressive party in power nationally, and in almost every state too. We do laugh at Trump and all his rotten morons.

Thank you, Trae! :-) I'm from Rural Yankee Up North, and at university, people asked me, "How'd you get into university?" I was only 18 and looked the first such person to ask me that and I said, "How did you?"
"THIS is what every learned person of science has Missed." Exactly! Man, I laughed so often during this video. Please do more shows in California. I want to see you in person.
Having close to forty minutes at a time of your comedy was _so much more satisfying_ than watching a bunch of shorter clips. I'm not gonna stop watching the short clips. Thanks for a great set!
I've appreciated Trae for about a year, or so, but I only stumbled across this yesterday. About 6pm In the 22 hours since then I've watched it FOUR TIMES and I'm still exploding with _unexpected_ laughter, but at parts of his act I'd previously missed. The dialogue he said when I was laughing too hard to hear, or fully comprehend, him. Trae [& Hal Sparks] do so much to help me tolerate the self destructive insanity of the times. 'Crushed to death whilst wearing a 'DON'T TREAD ON ME' T-shirt'.
Love this! I have experienced the same reaction to my WVA accent although I left at 13, and am now 78. I never made the least effort to lose my accent despite knowing that 99% of people will make the same assumptions you talk about: I am uneducated and stupid. The fact is that virtually every person in my family is college educated and most have advanced degrees and high IQ’s. I like the Tshirt that says “Underestimate me. That’ll be fun” . Even though it gets old at times, it just shows their ignorance, not mine. ❤
Was driving a Texan friend somewhere years ago when the word "nuclear" came up...he pronounced it faultlessly, prompting me to stop him and say "ooo, say that again", then giggle maniacally when he did. He got the joke and was a good sport about it. I remember ribbing the same guy about his guns (he had none)...
I'm sorry. Lol. I live in southern Ohio. It's the same way here. You're not alone. Thankfully my small citys local college (floodwall tech) grew up to become Shawnee state university so we have a few educated people here now and we've seen a lot of progress in the last 10-15 years.
I just stumbled on a video about the dangers of hiking the Appalachian Trail. The first comment states: " As someone from Appalachia (generations of my family has lived there)- I can tell you that the people who live in VERY rural Appalachia are either the kindest or the most dangerous people you will ever meet. " I don't think you're from the AT area, but you do seem to fall into the former category and instinctively have a bead on members of the other category who apparently have escaped and made their way into the rest of society, and have, in some cases, been elected into office. I love your car talks, which show an uncanny ability to size people up. Keep on telling it like it is, in any charming accent you want. Enjoyed this video. We all need a gentle poke from time to time to remind us that we all have our hardwired biases. (The Hidden Brain podcast actually did a show on that subject, worth hearing.)
Trae, thank you so much! In as much as I wish I was in the audience, this was the next best thing to being there. Truly loved the bit about horses in the hospice. Many years ago my mom was in a coma in the ICU. I spent days in her room by her side with my guide dog. Her doctor allowed us to be in the room regardless of the usual limited visitation schedule because when we were in the room her heart rate dropped into healthier levels & she stopped fighting the ventilator tube. When we left for the night, the nurses had to use soft wrist restraints. After days in the ICU, a woman stopped me in the hallway. As it turned out, her dad was in the room a few doors from Mom’s room. Her family thought her dad was suffering from worsening dementia because he kept telling them he saw a dog in the hallway. 😆 They were so relieved to learn he actual did see a dog.
This is GOLD. The entire bit about your wife becoming obsessed with true crime podcasts had me laughing my ass off!! 😂🤣 Literally everything your wife said/did is me to my girlfriend on a daily basis 😅
I have to thank you, Trae. They say that everyone you meet is fighting their own battle, and so it is with me, and mine involves a fair amount of physical pain. You are 100% HILARIOUS, and I spent a very happy, pain-free (it's true about "laughter being the best medicine") 40 minutes watching this special. Such a gift! FYI, my favorite line? "Have my devil babies, you godless snowflake!" Think I had to pause it at that point, because I laughed for a good 5 straight minutes... (my husband and I bond over things we hate as well...) You're the best, and thanks again for sharing your wonderful gift with the (RUclips-watching) world!
I just discovered Trae today thanks to the fact that, every so often, the RUclips algorithm does something right. It's rare, but it happens. It is SO refreshing to watch him and be reassured that, no, the entire south is not stupid. (Don't worry; I blamed it on Trump and corporations as a whole.)
To be fair, horses can actually provide emotional support. During one of my lowest times i was fortunate to have a part-time job driving carriages. I was having a particularly low day and was raking in the pen when one of the horses walked up to me and placed his chin on my shoulder. It was his version of giving me a hug.
I had a horse that would give me hugs. I’d be brushing him or doing whatever care he needed. He’d put his head over my shoulder and push me into his chest. I’d put my arms around him and rub his neck and shoulders. He’d sigh and stay like that for a few minutes. He’d even do it when he was in the pasture and not on a lead. I’d love for him to come visit when I’m dying. My version of heaven has him in it.
Precious conservative Christian girls right up front stepped out of their bubble and into the world of, whaddya know, opposing views! Actual reality... that does *not* think they're God's gift to us. Would've loved to have seen the discomfort on their faces throughout. Lol
Thanks for this! I feel like my life just flashed before my eyes…lol It is so hard to be from up the holler, when you go anywhere else…My first reaction to comments I get is indignant anger, but then I’m like, “Well stated point you’ve made…”I remember once being asked if my family had indoor plumbing, and having to explain that while yes we do, Grandma prefers to keep her outhouse “just in case.”

I'm not so sure you're on the 'wrong continent'...
@@stormwatcher59 -For watching Trae live, I mean. But yes... going to a bar tonight, and I'm not afraid I'll be shot, mugged or wrongfully arrested. I recommend it! :D Have a nice weekend :)
As an American living abroad with a Belgian spouse, I can't blame you. 😅
@@pdoylemi Nah bud, nothing in this world can make Boris and Brexshit ok. Thing is, you've shown us the way, we're following you, just a couple years behind. So your car crash of a society is our future. We're getting a free warning and yet we follow along. I say we, clearly not me! But we've just as many stupid, nasty, bigoted people, per capita, as you guys. Still, no guns, so there's that to be thankful for!
“Looking at Facebook with your mouth open ain’t research.“ So true, and yet millions of ignorant people think that it is.
Just watched this on Prime before work, it never gets old. Anyone who references Vivaldi AND Carl Orff in stand-up gets my respect! Love ye like chicken, son. ❤
HAHHAHAHA very good sarcasm.
Yesssssss!!!!
Truly a Renaissance man. Wide intellectual reach as well as a firm grasp. Own it, baby, it's yours.
Trae makes the insanity bearable. I wish I could do more to support Trae but as someone who’s trying desperately to escape a red district in a blue state, all my money is going into my escape plan. Thank you for sharing!
I’m falling out over “spaghetti talk” 😂
You know it's hard times when something makes your face hurt from smiling a lot when you haven't in a while. Trae is a ray of sunshine in our darkness lol
Thank you!
Yesss! Well said!
Spot on! Now I don’t need to leave a comment😂. Saves me half an hour, thanx sis!!
Are you perhaps over compensating for a southern drawl there Andrea? Those words you "spoke with your device via RUclips comments" were quite perfectly joined together to complete a thought I could not have said better! Well said indeed!
Thanks! I'm a white liberal Grammy in sc but I agree, don't listen to mawmaw and pawpaw!
*squints harder to see how exactly she's blessing your heart*
Funny thing about the horse. I am a hospice nurse in Northern New Mexico and I have had several patients hallucinate horses over the years. Might just be the families going back to the Conquistadors or not but it sure made the horse funny.
"Yeah, there ya go, Trae. Shoot it out. 🙄" I DIED LAUGHING!!!😂😂😂
Seriously one of the best bits. The EMOTIONS.
One of those life-long things.
I’ve got a few of those…
Saw Trae in a small club in Missouri this past year. Literally laughed so hard I cried. If you get a chance to see him live do it.
Thanks my Liberal Redneck friend. You just made this Independent Okie very happy. You're the best
The accent on the 'drunken Englishman' is impressively accurate! 😜
You're smarter than that."
I was lucky to have an actually wise old Papaw in my life... And, I sure do miss the old man. But, I'm glad he's not here to see what's going on here today. It would've broken his heart.
My papaw was a construction foreman who would sing the praises of his hard working “black” employees but couldn’t stand working with the “polacks” so progressive for his time! 🤣
@@alysiawilliams2139 Slang for people from Poland.
I just found out about Trae when I came across his book (yes, I am actually reading it) and it's just so refreshing to me that people like him exist.
"we weren't even us yet, we were still them" Just so. Wonderful set, thanks for making it available.
Yep. I'm from NZ, also colonised by Brits. I call it the Brutish Empire.
Another Kiwi here. Not a fan of the royals or their empire....but.... slavery. The British changed their minds and told their Colonies to knock it off....that's when the USA started it's war for independence.
Not a lot to do with paying taxes, or tea.🤷🏽♀️
Just history taught well.
@@judithnelson1581 good excerpt from Wikipedia. There's more in library books. I'm a fan of Lord Wilberforce and the back-story to the song Amazing Grace. Glad it got you curious. Keep learning 👍🏾
I'm in California, and I love his accent and think he's brilliant!
I was raised mostly in the Mid-Atlantic but also lived a couple years in sw Oklahoma before settling in New England. I love the accent especially when spoken by a non-bigot. The other well red guys are great, also Beau of the Fifth Column. Positive vibes from New Hampshire, remember to be kind to each other and yourself during these trying times.
Same ❤❤❤
"What Patch Adams doctor on acid came up with this living nightmare!" Thought I was going to die! I haven’t laughed so hard, for so long, in years! That whole segment is gold! I haven’t felt this good in awhile. Thank you for being!
After seeing trae live, I can't stress enough that you should take advantage of any chance you have to see him. He opened his set by cracking jokes about breaking news that was literally happening minutes before he took the stage. The man is deeply under appreciated.
Thx for putting this out for the foreign fans, like all of us in Australia 🦘🌏
Yay Australia 🇦🇺!!!
Thanks from Canadians like me.
Finland agrees! 🩷🩷
Well if the Aussies are here .... there's always a Kiwi about 😍
Chur Chur, Trae👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Trae Crowder - you're gold.
You're God damned right I'm going to watch this!
Yep
As a poor guy from the south, I really appreciate the free show! Made me laugh
“…We learned it from YOU, Dad..!!” Lol
I'm a european who lived in AL when I was a kid and I just laughed my ass off. Trae hitting the nail on the head again
My husband and I saw Trae Crowder in Atlanta in February 2023, great show, he definitely had a lot of newer material and he even gave us a whole set specifically addressing Georgia Politics. This special is great don't get me wrong, but I think his new show is even better! Love y'all like Chicken 🍗.
My favorite "cartoon 'possum" had me spit my soda across the keyboard with a lot of the lines in this session. Love Trae!!!
Yes! The "cartoon possum" line had me snorting as well!
Nothing but humor can pierce delusions armor. If we can’t laugh at ourselves we’re sadly doomed. Here’s someone fully tapped in to to humor!
Progressive party in power? Which fkn planet are you from?
Wish I were there. I am so sick of dealing with ignorance on daily basis here in the states.
First off, let me apologize for my country. Secondly, we KNOW the whole wide world is laughing at us, and rightfully so.
i met a number of Aussie cowboys while i lived in Montana, & loved them. i have met a number of Aussies on Zoom, and i love the sense of humor, and the realism they share. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to relay this mate.☺
I’ve been following you for years, Trae, since before you moved to that heathen town of LA. I know what you mean about the archetypal southern accent. I’m your neighbor from NC. Love you like chicken, dude!
Holy shit. A Vivaldi and seasons in Tennessee?!? Holy fuck, that funny! Great job.
I'm so glad i found this. I really cant express how much of a light it is to have other southern people be so vocal and genuinely hilarious
I've appreciated Trae for about a year, or so, but I only stumbled across this yesterday. About 6pm
In the 22 hours since then I've watched it FOUR TIMES and I'm still exploding with _unexpected_ laughter, but at parts of his act I'd previously missed.
I found him a couple years ago when I was still on twitter. Been a fan since.
I never lost my SC accent, either. I just let people be confused and shocked, figure it out when I speak intelligently-with my accent!
My moms 90. Been in Ohio for over 60 years. Still has her accent. She just wouldn’t be my mom without it.
Thanks Trae! You really had me laughing hard. I’m a Tennessee liberal too.
I'm sorry. Lol. I live in southern Ohio. It's the same way here. You're not alone. Thankfully my small citys local college (floodwall tech) grew up to become Shawnee state university so we have a few educated people here now and we've seen a lot of progress in the last 10-15 years.
Southwest Virginia here! Lol
Love this. So original and down to earth. A real breath of fresh air.
“There’s a horse LOOSE in a HOSPITAL!” 😂😂😂😂
LMFAO
IKR? I think eventually everything's gonna be okay, but I have NO IDEA what's gonna happen next.
Brit living in northern Florida & I'm crying laughing...love how you tell it.
You didn't get nearly enough laughs for "if they beheld a pale horse." That sent me.
?
I thought that was hilarious! Behold a pale horse.
Brilliant!
I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. Revelations 6:8
Me too
I just stumbled on a video about the dangers of hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Glad to see him finally have a special.
Okay the baguette joke almost made me tear up laughing.
This was brilliantly done! Thank you for the powerful insights interspersed with priceless belly laughs. Thank you, Trae!
You made me laugh out loud countless times. Thank you, Mr Crowder!
"Completely normal Alabama gentleman" !🤣
There's so many great lines in this special! [...and half of them's named Earl! 🤣]
BTW, I'd be okay with that horse...😂😂😂
This is GOLD. The entire bit about your wife becoming obsessed with true crime podcasts had me laughing my ass off!! 😂🤣 Literally everything your wife said/did is me to my girlfriend on a daily basis 😅
❤❤❤❤❤
Trae, you're a genius. Thanks so much for the laughs.
It was generous of you to share this. I hope you are rewarded for giving your comedy show for free in some tangible way. I loved being able to see it!
Yay Trae w/ no product commercials! Love you Trae!
Thank you for representing the good folks from the South. It's important.
I’m sorry for your pain, but I bond with anyone that hates the same things I do. 😂😂
mutual contempt is underrated.
My favorite comedian---love ya Trae!
Fantastic! Much love from Norway, Trae!
Yay Norway 🇳🇴!!! Still remember your Olympics!!!
Algorithm please show this to everyone bc this is hilarious!! 💯💯
"Looking at Facebook with your mouth open isn't research". Love ya Trae❤!
U.K. here. One of my favourite comedians.
Your singing is world class.
His comedy is like a swimming pool. The more you're in it the better it gets. ❤
Thank you for the great show, and all the other joy, sanity and laughter you bring into this fucked up world.
This is GOLD
I don't understand why the audience isn't laughing aloud.
Precious conservative Christian girls right up front stepped out of their bubble and into the world of, whaddya know, opposing views! Actual reality... that does *not* think they're God's gift to us.
Would've loved to have seen the discomfort on their faces throughout. Lol
They are!
There is always a delay in the laughter because one has still be careful to make sure they are laughing at the right thing and not the "idiot" thing.
I absolutely know first hand what you mean... I’ve had this same thing happen & could not believe it! Just because I’m from WV
I’m and east coast raised snob, transplanted to rural Wisconsin. Different flavor of backwoods, but a lot of trailers etc. You do a lot to help the country see itself more clearly. Keep it up. You’re a master.
I bought this as soon as I heard about it, but will happily watch it again here again! Buy it! We need to support these guys.
As a Californian who grew up in Alabama, this hits. Thanks, Trae.
I very much enjoyed that and laughed a bunch throughout. I love that you gave us a freebie, thank you, you're a gem. A very funny gem :) Big love from Scotland.
Yay Scotland 🏴!!!
Speaking of accents that put all kinds of ideas in outlanders' minds, aye?
You had me at Vivaldi and O Fortuna... LOL
Trae singing O Fortuna is now my favorite thing 🤣
Texan here. Glad to see the literate south coming up in comedy. The irony in the accent should be ample impetuous for some more great bubba's-got-a-passport comedy. Excellent set, my dude.
Texan here, too. Took my big ol' accent to New York state and graduated from college there.
Yay Trae! Am originally from WVa and after many years still have my accent in AZ.!
"Who you callin' a baguette? Yeah, I know all aboutcha bread, Pierre."
Makes me chuckle every time I hear it 😆
Love this man. As a liberal redneck myself who is slowly and painfully adapting to life overseas I needed this.
So so great. I loved every second of that. Your brilliant Trae! ❣️ 🎉
You talking about J6 really hit home with me. Two of three county supervisors (responsible for reporting my county's votes) are under indictment for election interference, refusing to turn in votes to the state, stating the election machines weren't certified (they were). They're still in office, and one is up for reelection (he'll win, too). The other put herself on Facebook, at the J6 insurrection. I feel insane, with the 2024 election coming. How can this be real?! Thank you for making light of a horrible situation. I appreciate your humor!!
Thanks for posting this. I appreciate the opportunity to watch this for free. But if you would please, please, please come to Arizona I’ll save enough of my Social Security (assuming the GOP hasn’t f’d that up) and pay to see you live.
I was there live and in person when this was recorded! When me and my wife left for the evening both our faces hurt from laughing so much.
