A few weeks ago we packed the car and drove up to Santa Barbara to visit friends and get some gravel miles in our legs. This epic 60-mile 8,000-foot gravel adventure didn't disappoint.

do you use spd or spdsl pedals/shoes/cleats? just got my first gravel bike and will be riding both road and gravel so not sure what to get!

I would 100% get SPD if you are riding gravel! Road shoes won’t be fun if you have to walk some gravel sections. I also used SPD on both my road and gravel bike up until very recently. I only changed to SPD SL cleats and road shoes because I wanted to try them out.
