Here's what happened on Aug 17 1987 at the Verdun Auditorium where GNR was playing before the cult! .me and a couple of biker friends got there just after GNR finished their set so my buddies went inside the back doors and told me to stay there to keep an eye on the harleys! so as their equipment truck was being loaded Axle , Duff and Slash came over to see our bikes and he ( Axle) told me " we got harleys too in L.A. and asked if he could sit on a bike I told him sure go ahead but just then my friend pops over and starts yelling at Axle " hey man get off my bike, !! none of us knew then that these guys would end up as the greatest rock bands in the world!!!!🤣🤣🤣
Rock stars are dead. Who drinks and smokes in interviews now? No, no one. Everyone's so stupid boring ass clean, healthy, goody two shoes. IT IS SOOOO BORING!
I feel same way.. I feel like I would rather be in 80s date a real guy and real guys to me are rocknroll back then. As a girl I’m 21 now and I’m so in love with the 90s 80s guys, they had the real spirit there was just something about them.. I still believe times will change and there are still real cool guys now in this generation .
I know right! I feel like its because majority of my parents/grandparents gen been so strict on my gen & so focused on making us goody two shoes, like they never did drugs n drank back when they were teens lol! (All except for the cool parents) I wish it was still like this. I wish I could’ve been a teen in the 80s. Hopefully my gen can revive rock & make it mainstream again
What a show that was GnR opening for The Cult! I was on the floor about 10-15 feet from the stage and I can tell you most of the crowd around me hated them LOL! I have a really shitty recording of this show and all you can hear from the guys recording it were "Fuck you, get off the stage" etc... The band didn't give a fuck, they were flipping people off, giving as good as they got and just ripped through their set. My how things would change in about 12 months.
I'd love to see that recording. They opened for the cult in August in Detroit. My brother went and met slash n duff at their tour bus and got autographs . I was sick inside because it was an 18 n over show and I wasn't old enough.
My uncle saw them in August in Nova scotia for that tour, partied with the band in their hotel and traded shirts with slash. Slash wanted my uncles Aerosmith draw the line shirt so my uncle got slashes rolling stones one he played with onstage. My uncle still has the shirt framed on the wall.
So fuckin' cool to see this, thx!!!
This is gold being from Montreal I was too young to attend this show and did know about them yet sadly...
1:23 lmao "no i spit when i talk"
I love guns n roses
where are they sitting
