Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni paid a five-day state visit to China, which, in her words, was to "relaunch" bilateral ties. What issues were high on the agenda of Meloni's visit? How should the two countries navigate through the ever-more complex geopolitical landscape and strengthen their cooperation? And what does the visit say about the future trajectory of China-EU relations?

Italy doesn't want to be a colony of the US. The EU is falling apart rapidly (mainly do to their "newcommer" policies). Every EU nation that has followed the US is rapidly falling apart (Germany especially). Even Japan and South Korea are feeling the economic pain of following the US. Italy is just looking at options in order to keep from becoming a 3rd world nation.
Meloni has no choice but to tread her path cautiously, being the first EU country to join the BRI is no joke, there’s mountains of pressure from both sides.
Europe should leave nato and make good relationships with Russia and China and India and all Asian countries..USA utilizing Europe in every prospect...

President Xi Jinping was in Europe last month. His Excellency met President Ursula Von Der Leyen, President Macron in France, President Aleksandar Vucic in Serbia, and Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Hungary. Italy, Germany, Poland, UK and Ukraine were not on the agenda.

Meloni was thinking instant success of the BRI but it takes time as the world faces pandemic crisis and the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza. By her body language and tone of voice , she is somewhat restless of instant results but in the real world it takes time and patience. Roman empire didnt started intantly but it took 500 yrs of slow expansion.
