We have news from Canon. The unit Deon had (long before launch) had very pre-production firmware which affected the digital stabilisation and autofocus. We have seen better results from units with more recent firmware.
We didn't do much of a stress test! The lens and the screen protrude from the body so those would probably be the first to go. But to be fair even action cameras lose screens and lenses to dropping all the time. So something as simple as a wrist strap will save you a lot of money and damaged gear.
There are two levels of digital IS - on and enhanced. We've heard back from Canon and our unit had very pre-production firmware. Sample footage we've seen from creators with different units have much more stable footage.
every camera company always blames the pre production firmware so people will preorder. but if you really think about it, at least some of those cameras are already boxed up for shipping. they don’t just magically appear on the expected ship date. with that said, this was a great review and I appreciate you taking the time to do it. I just don’t think there’s going to be a big difference between what you had and what ends up shipping. Ive made that mistake of trusting the “its pre-production software “ line way too many times

Ive already pre ordered mines. I cant wait to put this baby to use
Will it survive a drop? I've lost too many vlogging cameras by dropping it.

Is it image stabilised? Pity it was a tad shakey even when just walking around (especially for those of us who cant sit still!)

Would have loved to test this out at Simola. Looks extremely promising.

The focus & stabilization don't look so good. The size is kinda ruined by needing a cage. F stop should be 1.8 too.
Let us see the $150 POWER ADAPTER REQUIRED TO CHARGE that $429.00 overpriced Canon V10 camera.
