I would never have gotten this trans out without your videos! I work as a golf course mechanic and we bought a z950a this year that was leaking also on the right side - I don't actually know what exactly was leaking because there was oil everywhere 🙃 the local john dealer told me its more than likely the 3 magnets and updated magnet with seal. I have all those but wondering if I shouldn't just do all bearings/bushings/seals and tear it all apart as you did? Thanks so much for all your work and thorough videos! Real lifesaver.

I would use the new axle, it's a solid peice, and doesn't have a separate bushing that can leak. The new design is a improvement!

I thought of that, but the issue with it having the hub built in is that if you ever have to replace the seal you will have to pull the entire axel out which requires opening the hydro unit. Even though the original design may be inferior I like that you can remove the wheel hub from the axel.

I do believe your supposed to drain it from the bottom and remove the filter then turn it upside down.

were there any tuff torq serial or model numbers on those transmission housings that let you identify the transmission so you could order the correct parts from them? I have a seal leaking on a Z930m which is basically the same mower you have? Thanks

yes, there should be a sticker on the housing. Here is the tuff torq link for my unit.
