Always glad to see when you post new content. Hopefully you are able to take many road trips this spring and summer. I also want to say I appreciate how well-edited and well-researched your videos are--everything from the street signs blown up onscreen for us to the history of the places you travel to. Eastern Canada has some of the most beautiful lands and towns (and cities) I have ever seen, and I thank you for sharing them with us!
Hello Drew ! That's one of the nicest comment I ever had. It is greatly appreciated my friend and this is boosting myself to continue my videos right away ! :) Come back anytime if you have any comments or suggestions for my channel !
They are not perfect, but it's not so bad I need to admit :D ... Route 199 is the most important road of the Archipelago too, they need to take care of it!
Loved it! I actually had no idea of this islands existence and had to go onto Google Maps to take a peek! :) Nice song choice by the way! Boys of Summer is a classic!
That's also what Trans-Canada-Phil says lol .. I'm glad you guys know it now! Fun fact about this place : It's 1hr ahead compared to the rest of Québec, so, during an election, it's always the first place where we get a result. They are counting for 1 riding themselves. Ah yes, this specific remix of Boys of Summer is a song I know since I was a kid. DJ Sammy was my favourite Techno band about 20 years ago and my favourite song was ''Dj Sammy, Heaven'' Thanks for watching !
yeah this is a neat area that I hadn't even heard of before until you started covering it :-D It has that characteristic "east coast" look that I associate from old movies like Pete's Dragon. This is a pretty cool dance remix of the Don Henley song, the Boys of Summer...sweet I like it. :-D
Thanks ! I am happy to show you a part of your country that you didn't know before :) You are doing pretty much the same with Western Canada and it's always fun to watch :)
Freeway Franks did I see they had to replace the asphalt on that bridge towards the end after BARELY FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE?! I once thought having to replace any asphalt less than 10 years was nothing short of deplorable...
Great video, it would of been nice to see the whole road from havre-aubert to Grande Entrée, i heard the road north of havre aux maison is really nice with the ocean on either side of the road
Great video, nice look at the islands. I've heard that the Magdalen Islands usually vote the way the rest of the province tends to, and political journalists will watch and see how islanders vote to gauge how they think an election result will go.
Thanks ! Yeah, they're situated in the Atlantic time Zone. That's the only place in the province of Quebec with a different time zone! But I didn't know they were kind of considered as a Political trend in this province during the elections :) !
Kinda always wondered what the big tourist draws, aside from fishing & whatnot, to these almost far northern oceanside towns were. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the way the ocean looks, but from a standpoint of once being used to going to Florida almost every summer (and hearing the Pacific ocean in Southern California requires full body swimwear to even think about setting foot in), is it even remotely feasible/possible to swim in that ocean without... you know hypothermia? Always visualized the big draw to oceans was also SWIMMING IN THE OCEAN...
Oh you would be surprised, the Magdalen Islands are very popular during summer time. They are not as crowded as the continent simply because they are remote, but since I first visited last summer, it doesn't seems to be a ''shit hole'' in the way that it looks well maintained and people there seems to be quite proud of their place nor it looks poor. There is many things to do there and it's bigger than you might think. It is true that the surrounding ocean is quite cold, but there is tons of places in and arround the Magdalen islands with Shallow water. I've tried it myself and the water was around 20 celcius. Florida is certainly not the same type of summer vacation. Me and my friend were mostly driving, swimming and walking around during our trip to be honnest.
@@FreewayFranks It's a year later (I also go by the name "Gabriela Paulinho" on RUclips), and I'm still bewitched by l'Iles de la Madeleine, this video and all of your videos!. Wow! Big Ups to Freeway Tom, too! After this crazy, deadly pandemic is over, I'll be booking a cruise (likely it'll be for the ship leaving in autumn of 2023) from Montreal to NewFoundland, with views of these islands, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and, here's the trippy part for me: a stop in France. St. Pierre et Miquelon! I never thought I'd get to see l'Iles de la Madeleine and then le Croisieres AML comes up with a seven-night cruise from Montreal and going through so many parts of Quebec province and on to other provinces and then ... to France. It's like a dream come true. But notice I wrote 2023. I figure, since I can't cross into Canada this year. I'm first going to need to revisit Toronto (haven't been there in three years) and then, on a separate trip, I will need about 2 weeks divided between Montreal and Quebec City. So, since the AML Croisieres cruise must be booked a year ahead, I should be able to book in early 2022. Year 2021 is going to be too crazy cruisewise for me; I've never been on a cruise, and so I don't want my maiden voyage to happen when experienced cruisers are going to go haywire in 2021 and 2022 to make up for the time (during this pandemic) that they couldn't cruise (read: cruise on the ships that they originally booked, for the duration of time desired and with all the bells and whistles). Rock on, Freeway Franks! Or should I say: Drive on!!! :)
Nice video, thank you for sharing it. Though on a much lesser scale, it reminds me somewhat of Hecla Island in Manitoba, a two-hour drive north of Winnipeg connected to the mainland by a causeway, see my pictures at curtiswalker.com/roads/MB/8/8_10.aspx.
Fyi: road 199 is a major road, not a highway. Highways in Quebec are from 1-99 and 400+
Very Nice video, it take me back to this place where I have so much good memories! Thanks
Merci Jean-Philippe! Moi et mon ami on a adoré visiter les îles!

Even in an isolated island, these roads are better preserved than the roads here in Brazil. You gotta love Canada!
They are not perfect, but it's not so bad I need to admit :D ... Route 199 is the most important road of the Archipelago too, they need to take care of it!
Definitely quite the landscape out there. excellent job, well produced.
Thanks. It was exotic even for myself ! ... and it's in my own province !
Wonderful!!! Un capolavoro di paesaggio!!!

just awesome trip thank

beau video ,,,
Merci ! Content que ça te plaises.
Loved it I bet the winters are harsh.
It is not as cold as the continent because the maritime weather regulate their temperatures, but it's always humid and windy.
Freeway Franks did I see they had to replace the asphalt on that bridge towards the end after BARELY FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE?! I once thought having to replace any asphalt less than 10 years was nothing short of deplorable...
Belle endroit, a peu près un des seules endroit au Québec où je ne suis jamais aller encore.
Matthew, il faut absolument que tu le fasses un fois dans ta vie ! Tu va adorer, je t'en signe un papier !!
Great ride through an area I'll likely never get to see in person.
You should never say that... everything is possible ! ;)
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Maybe someday... This would be part of a great vacation, indeed!
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Merci Tim :)
Great video franks
Thanks !

I'm gonna have to watch this a second time... and a third... And fourth, etc.😀
Addict ? :P
I bet it's your favourite video on my channel lol
C’est magnifique ! T’es resté dans combien de temps ?
Merci! Seulement 4 jours :(
I was there! ;)
Right behind the Camera :D :D
You're alive!

Thanks for dropping by !
Nice pictures, you might suggest this road to Trans-Canada-Phil !
You should make one of the 175. Jk it’d be pretty boring
I did lol...there are 3 parts of it on my channel and I don't think it's boring with all the pretty mountain views!
i live there :D
Really? Cool. It's an awesome place! We had lots of fun there. Thanks for watching.

I saw this video 1 minute ago
I'll watch this on my laptop now.
Ok thanks.
Horrible music
I'm sorry.
@@FreewayFranks You're so kind. That music is great!!!
