The WNBA has not been subsidized by the NBA for a couple of years now. Although only 6 NBA teams currently own WNBA teams, the Golden State Warriors are getting a 2025 expansion team.
If the negotiations for TV coverage does not offer more FREE games to the public, don't expect the league to continue to generate the excitement you are experiencing this season.
The last game ever to post HUGE viewership for the NBA was between Utah and Chicago for the championship.
After that, when the NBA got greedy and thought ESPN would fill their pockets, viewership has tanked.

I’ve watched basketball since I was 5 years old. I honestly have never had any interest in watching women’s basketball at all or a wnba game.
Until Caitlin Clark. I have no doubt there are better players but there’s something about her game that makes it interesting to watch. To me she could be as important to the wnba as bird and magic were to the nba. Younger people don’t remember before bird and magic the nba finals was shown on tape delay.
I’m all for womens sports have a daughter that plays competitive soccer. But for the first time I’m interested in women’s basketball in my life thanks to Caitlin Clark.

She made the wnba more money yes she did that she along with the other rookies (it doesn't benefit the players though because the salary cap is still the same and the aces have to find ways to get around it just to pay their 2 time championship winning players more money and they keep getting investigated for it) but not 1 single rookie is responsible for the flights. (Aka something tangible that they the players benefit from) you can that bg that guy harassed her and her teammates. And then thank the liberty and aces for the funding. That deal was done before she even announced she was coming into the league. It was approved last year funds were used from the w nba finals and the partnership with Delta was done pre draft. They announced it early season. Charter flights was the worst kept secret in the wnba it was kept worse than Toronto getting a team.
People gotta stop giving her credit for everything. That's y some of the other rookies and the vets alike are complaining. The wnba was growing at a steady rate about 2 years ahead of the nba at this stage and age. About half of the league makes money every year this was all pre clark it had been happening for the last 10 years. Now the rookie class has the potential to spring it ahead 5 yrs of its current growth rate in 1 year but that's not just because of clark it's the entire rookie class. Attendance numbers are up across the league not just in the games that she plays in Chicago and angel reese have sold out every single game in larger arenas than clark has. And her DC game is getting moved to the larger capital one arena. That's just an example. It's not just clark. U could probably swap clark for beckers and still get the same effect.

Yes, Clark has a skillset that was given spotlight and the Iowa Hawkeyes were a good team, but they were beat by better teams. Make no mistake, the top 10 WNBA players drafted this year is clearly the reason why the league is selling out stadiums, and Clark is the #1 pick of that class. And #1 picks in all sports get the initial shine when entering the league. It’s up to them to keep it.
If other WNBA players are salty about things the way they are…commercial flights and empty arenas are just around the corner. Instead of complaining how it’s happening, use it to build the product to benefit yourself, the league, and others.

Sometimes we lead someone that can represent us because the woman of the WNBA has worked harder than only one I know to see someone like Kaitlyn CLARK and Angel Reese help bring attention to the WNBA is remarkable. My daughter plays AAU and is now playing for D1 college and it is horrible how we eat our young, give her a break I understand a file was about, but do we have to be so rough on her?

That was a super cheap shot designed to do zero for the offense of the team, but only to potentially injure CC. That team is a bunch of overpaid elephants that my HS boys team would have shellacked. I was so disgusted with that block I decided I will never name that team as long as I live.
