Thanks, John. Looking at the latter part of this video, it's clear the units here were quite elaborate -- two rooms with large walk-in closet, and private balcony. This looks more like an assisted living facility than a nursing home. When I look up Springhouse Manor Care which you mentioned in a comment in Part 1, I see that seems to be what they offered -- assisted living with some nice amenities.
They started off sorting the materials then as it went on they must have got fed up and just smashed everything into a big heap!, i never know why they fit a digging bucket when a reclamation grab or five finger grab would make it so much easier!
They are still alternating between smashing and sorting -- and I could see either one on the days I am filming. They keep the bricks to the outside, and shove everything else to the middle. Then go back and pick out the metal and the concrete slabs.
The crawl space under the north end of the building was a surprise. It turns out the north end was built on soft ground, so it was constructed on prefabricated concrete slabs supported by caissons going down to firmer soil, creating a void under the floor.
2014 is when the nursing home closed. Their lease was up in 2015, and the landowner was preparing for the redevelopment that is now taking place here and on the nearby Westwood shopping centers. This was across the street earlier this year: ruclips.net/video/JF_VyAtzbCs/видео.html

Yes, it was an assisted living facility, with nursing care for those who needed it, or who over time came to need it.

I think the operator was just having too much fun smashing and loves the crashing and crunching of demo!

Why shut down? Covid outbreak?
They shut down almost a decade ago, so well before Covid. Largely economics -- the property was worth more if it was redeveloped.

It didn't seem too bad to me, except for the balconies which crumbled into sand and gravel.
