  • We shared the first versions of the Ratchet Knob on this channel several months ago, but they've gone back to the drawing board to make them better. Starting with N52 magnets, they're 30% stronger than the previous N35 magnets. Also, they tightened up on the toleranced, and they added an o-ring on the smaller Milwaukee M12 FUEL headed ratchets. You can pick these up for around $15 each. #shoplife #ratchetknob #milwaukeem12 #notsponsored

Hoping there will be a v3 to be compatible with the protective boot

Very cool, but looks like it won't work with a boot. Also, they should print on/off arrows on it.

Make a v3 that is boot compatible and I'll buy 4 immediately.

I have a new Milwaukee extended ratchet. Looks like this would be a good option for it.

At the 1:51 mark you said these knobs are only for the FUEL ratchets however according to the website they say "The MW-2™ Magnetic One Finger Reversible Ratchet Knob™, made for Milwaukee high speed and brushed ratchets." I specifically have the 2457-20 and it lists the MW-2 knob as compatible with it. Anyways I ordered one with the link you provided. I'm always paranoid that I'm going to be careless and jam the ratchet up against something and be unable to switch the ratchet direction. Hopefully with this maybe I'll be able to switch the direction with the knob and avoid that nightmare lol. As always thank you for the videos!

Not tryin to hate jus curious why dewalt is the only 1, at least i know of, to put a normal ratchet lever style switch on their new cordless ratchets? Its like the design was their from normal hand ratchets. I dont get it

Only the DCF500 and DCF510 "Sealed Head" ratchets have this design. All the other [DeWalt] ones are similar to this with a "turney knob" in the centre. The reason is the way the traditional power ratchets work--they swing the mechanism in the head back/forth to perform the ratcheting, so that's really the only place to put the switch on is there to change the ratcheting "output" direction. The DeWalt "sealed head" ratchets have a completely different design than most power ratchets, so this is how they accomplished that.
Matco also makes one with a similar switch, which is actually rather huge (the switch I mean, not the ratchet). If you go look at the TTC video covering the Matco ratchet you'll see how the design is quite different than most power ratchets as they show the exploded view/animation.

@@rolandm9750 good to know. I guess there was a reason. The switch was a big reason I wanted to upgrade to the dewalt 12v ratchet from my 1st gen dewalt 12v ratchet. And the fact the head was more compact and it was 3/8 drive and 1/4 drive. I guess plus the 1/4 hex bit holder but I haven't even used that still but I got the option lol.
