Hi Sonya 🙂 I am so glad I came across your channel. The first one video I saw was the meditation slow stitching you mentioned and yours was next on the feed. You are an amazing lady to not only listen to but to learn from as well. I’ve been obsessed so to speak with this slow stitching craft and I can’t wait to give this a go with my on crafts. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. Have a wonderful day 😀 Abby💜
Very pretty. New subscriber, looking forward to seeing more of your videos. I have a fabric journal, can't wait to add something like this to that journal.
I so loved watching you. I have this minute looked through my materials to see what I can use. I love your choice of materials and love your chatty style.
Hi Sonya! Just got through listening/watching this video and wanted you to know how much I enjoyed it! I was winding some Sashiko thread into a ball while I listened/watched. You had me laughing right out loud. I hope you did some more videos because they are informative and fun! Thanks from the other side of the pond (Dallas, Tx)! 🤗
Sonya! Thanks for the demonstration - I've been also doing slow stitching in the U.S. and watching some vids by Sashi.Co - so much helpful information ! Thank you again! Great Day to you.
Hello Sonya :) This looks like fun :) I am going to have to put this on my list :) I am working on the belly bands for my daughters calendars, with your crazy patchwork techniques this morning :) tfs, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Another fantastic tutorial Sonya, those fabrics are gorgeous love them, I find hand sewing quite therapeutic, this is something I will love doing, I have a massive amount of different saree fabrics and trims I,m thinking of using those, this piece you're creating is so pretty and vintage love it, tfs your amazing wealth of knowledge lovely lady, hugest hugs x Julie 🇬🇧
Slow stitching is so relaxing. I'm sure it should be prescribed by doctors. I have been inspired so much lately by yourself and others to use fabric more and stitching is a new found passion. Bit by bit l am learning new terms and stitches. My memory isn't good so l have a written glossary with a sample attached for each one. Look how beautifully your colours came together with your fabrics and cut outs. I'm hoping for some rainy days soon so l can sit inside and stitch. Thanks for sharing. Hugs.
Hi Sonya, thank you so very much for creating your channel 🙏you are such a pleasure to watch and to listen to, I love watching your videos especially when I need cheering up.😊 The stitching I think your referring to is called Kantha stitching, it's originally from India and it's a really lovely tradition where the mothers and grandmothers create bedspreads, shawls and all sorts of items from different pieces of fabric for their daughters and family members. Each stitch is meant to represent part of them and their life and how they were feeling at the time, so as the children have a wonderful keepsake after their loved ones are gone. I think it's a really beautiful tradition 💕 I've only just discovered it and it's a wonderfully meditative process as you said especially sitting in front of the telly. There is another similar type of stitching called sashiko that is Japanese, that is a lot more detailed, and involves having eight or nine stitches on your needle at once, and them all being the same size! It's beautiful to look at, but it looks painstakingly hard to me, as you have to be so accurate, I much prefer sewing that is easy and fun just like your doing. Sorry for the long explanation I just like learning about the history of sewing and sharing traditions and where they come from is always interesting to me. Thanks again for showing us how easy and fun this is, whenever I'm a bit nervous about trying something new I watch your videos and your no fuss, laid back fun style (and your giggles) takes the pressure off and you get me grabbing out my fabric bag and I start sewing along with you, your a gem, big hugs from a fellow Aussie 😊x
Hello Wenn So lovely to meet you And for helping me understand this work a bit better !! It is so much fun !!thank you for you lovely comment so pleased you enjoy my videos Big hugs Sonya
Thanks for replying Sonya, your right it is so much fun! I think you have coined the new phrase "Frankenstein fabric" because that's exactly what it is! Well done on being such a wonderful teacher to us all 😊
I know this comment thread is old, but I just wanted to add that you should check out SashiCo here on YT, as he has a different take on Sashiko - that it should be relaxing and meditative and that the stitches don't have to be so precise, nor the finished product so precious. He grew up doing Sashiko so he's worth listening to. He does live streams in both English and Japanese. ☺
I totally agree with the way you have described Sonya and her effect on those watching her, true delight and always entertaining and she does make it seem easy enough for all t9 give it a go

It would be something special I can pass to the next gen since I'm the last of us...something to memorialize everyone. THANK YOU so much for inspiring this idea.
