  • DRS Information Session for Students with IEPs504s and families.
If your student receives specialized services through an IEP or 504 Plan, these specialized services end when a student graduates or exits high school. It is important that your child is connected to resources or services that will help him/her be successful in life after high school. One of these resources is offered by the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS). DRS is a program with the State of Illinois that helps people with disabilities, including students in high school receiving support and services through an IEP or 504 plan in preparing to obtain and maintain employment. DRS can help students with one of the following services:
Financial Contribution to College: assistance paying for tuition, books, fees, and/or supplies for community college, 4-year college/university, vocational training, technical programs, or trade school.
Job Placement: career exploration, resume development, interview preparation, job readiness training, job search assistance, employer connections.
Supported Employment: assistance from a job coach designed for students with significant disabilities who need ongoing support to be successful in their job.
