An old school macguyver trick we used to do was wire a incandescent light bulb in series with the cap, when the bulb dies and goes out your cap is charged @treysempire3008
I bought one because I love fosgate name. Always does good. I have a 1500bdcp. And I fully charged it. Went out cruising. Few hours later it was below 12 volts. So I returned it. I have a 300 amp alternator and Xs battery now. Only way to go in my opinion.
You can try putting a battery charger on the battery while your charging. This may help speed up the process. It would be worth a try. I’m charging that exact same model cap up this evening. Thanks for sharing.
i would have charged the bank in the car instead, use a 5w halogen light bulb in series på charge it up, when the light stops glowing its fully charged... I have made a new capacitorbank by myself with supercapacitors, its over 100 farads, used it with my old car stereo install, worked pretty good. With my new install i used a lithium bank instead, no need for capacitors yet, stays over 13 volts at full tilt with a 2k amp and a 5k amp, and im only running a 90 amp gen! crazy efficient
I have both. They are the EXACT same. Even took them apart to compare internals. I suggest anyone watching this to just buy the NVX as it is almost half the cost as the RF.
Hey fellas. Be mindful the the Battery used to charge the capacitor is discharging at 12 volts. This will cause the charge time to be longer. If you connect the capacitor to your vehicle, with the engine running, you will be charging at 14.3 volts, instead of 12 volts. This will bring your charge time down and it will also charge the capacitor at the normal voltage that will be going to the capacitor, after it is fully charged, installed and in use. also, use a fuse (see instructions). Always follow manufacturer's instructions, so you don't void the warranty. Good luck !!!
It would be faster if you had power going to the battery while doing it & the small Guage wire wouldn't really matter cause your running a short run of it
I have a t1000bdcp and a t400/4 both power series and they look like this capacitor, what you think it’s worth? I gonna put two sundown audio sa-8v2 500 watts rms for each sub
When I get up to around 10 volt you can take it off and set it up but usually you need to have it set up in your car already so you can just connect the power wire right away because when you take that off you start to lose volts once it's not connected but that's what people don't understand you don't need to get it up to 12 volts you just got to get it near 12 volts so 10 volts is acceptable so you don't get a big spark and ruin the capacitor
It is taking you longer due to the size of your cables and not a vehicle turned on I say this because I have this same capacitor and connected to the vehicle it didn’t take me long to charge and yes I did it with 0gage wires but I do have to say I like the way you did the presentation

I’m glad I could help and let me know how it goes
the whole point is to charge it slowly so you don't damage it

Where’d you get that circuit board interface?... I’ve been looking for one.
It came with the capacitor
I’ trickle charged it with a trickle charger from harbor freight .. I have the nvx one

Don't tease it, give it power.
Right on bro I have one and works great..

Hello, does the capacitor have a remote? Otherwise, how does it go out, please?
It doesn't need to shut off.
Thanks for the vid 👍🏼

You need to charge it until the green light turns off and not before then. After the green light turns off the capacitor is fully charged.
What happened to the install part

Did you connect your capacitor directly to your battery or did you use that little interface too?
It takes 44 minutes to charge it slowly like that but it actually charges in milliseconds
😂
