- Pakistans beautiful city Peshawar is a must see place in South Asia. Old History and Great Architecture can be found all around is this City which was one the Capital of Pakistan. In and around Peshawar the language Pashto is being spoken like in all the other parts of KPK.
I enjoyed the hospitality there a lot. Pashtuns are very special people and close to my heart!

Very interesting and ancient city, was known as 'Purushpur' in ancient times - "The area encompassing modern-day Peshawar is mentioned in Vedic scriptures; in ancient India, it served as the capital of the Kushan Empire under the rule of Kanishka and was home to the Kanishka Stupa, which was among the tallest buildings in the ancient world. Peshawar was then ruled by the Hephthalites, followed by the Hindu Shahis, before the arrival of a variety of Muslim empires."
That's interesting! Which age was it on timeline? Peshawar was overtaken by Pashtun tribals... Pashtuns spread from South of Afghanistan and occupied Peshawar and all surrounding areas...

Peshawar is centuries old city of proud well coming pakhtuns. It has historic balahisar that was constructed by Taimur Shah Durrani . Ghazal maestro Khyal Muhammad lives in this city. Some Kms away, birth place of legendary khuday khidmatgar Bacha khan Baba and poet painter Ghani khan. Peshawar has Gigyanis, Daudzais, Khalil Mohmands n Afridis plus Mohmands. Must hv visited great khudai khidmatgar Haji Bilour. It used Kaspapora but now pekhawar . Regards
