I actually don’t think it would take much to make this comfortable for a longer term living situation: just about 4 sq ft more space in the room for storage and a real door. As I wrote in another comment: it already offers more than most US collage dorms for about $3000-$5000 less for 10 months.

American here, excellent video. This is an extremely good deal, especially with the McDonalds being only a minute away, I hope we build units like this in the US in the near future.
This is a capsule room as opposed to just a capsule. I think it makes a lot of difference because there is private room for some stuff and to see. There also doesn’t appear to be the unnecessary space for the TV (which often isn’t installed anyway) in this capsule. Also you can get in length ways so must feel less like a coffin. I used to stay a lot in capsule hotels in the past but last time I tried I became claustrophobic and changed to a normal hotel the next day. I probably wouldn’t feel claustrophobic in this one.
It's so different from Vietnam's Internet cafes. In Vietnam, there isn't a private room, there is a public room with a lot of computers and a lot of people that are serried. If you are in Vietnam's Internet cafe, you may hear the scream of others, including "The buffalo youngs". =)))
@@みどりのたぬき-g3f What he means is that the teenagers sit in a public computer facility, and often curse profanely at the games. they are called "young buffaloes(trẻ trâu)"
Most people who use these places end up there because they’re done with their night, missed the train, and need a place to crash. You’re not expected to leave your room vacant for extended periods of time, so these kinds of locks are sufficient. The thing about the culture here is that security-wise, the bare minimum is enough. I’ve seen mall shops literally hang a net over their goods when closing at the end of the night. Even the way people lock their bikes here or hang their smartphones/wallets out in the open in crowded areas would never fly anywhere else.
Of course I could be wrong but this just seems like a reasonably affordable way to have a roof over your head in lieu of renting an apartment. I love this idea because it means you’re untethered.
We need a $20 a night hotels in the US. How much fun and cheap would it be! After all, your are not traveling to sleep in nice hotels - it is to experience and see different things!
When I see my daughter, I stay in a Microtel for just under $70. I think the room size could easily be cut in half, so I'd happily take a $35-$40 room with my own bathroom. Sometimes, I could work with something even smaller, and probably closer to a $25 price point.

I want to try a capsule hotel someday. A love hotel, too. Despite the name, you get a lot of amenities and they're still cheaper than US hotels. Basically good for couples (I'm married) whereas with a capsule hotel, a couple has to get individual ones, on separate floors. It's amazing how far one can seem to get in Japan without knowing the language. A lot is in English and a lot more is in romanji, so you could wing it, and knowing a little konnichiwa, sumimasen, and arigatou go a long way from what I've heard.

5:48 I didn't know that Internet Explorer has deceased this year 2022! 💐💐💐
American here, excellent video. This is an extremely good deal, especially with the McDonalds being only a minute away, I hope we build units like this in the US in the near future.
americans only care about mcdonalds and fast food😂😂
@@dieegobm Its true, the closest McDonalds to me is a 10 minute drive which I find to be ridiculous
Well I'm planning to spend new year in yokohama thanks for the video
This is a capsule room as opposed to just a capsule. I think it makes a lot of difference because there is private room for some stuff and to see. There also doesn’t appear to be the unnecessary space for the TV (which often isn’t installed anyway) in this capsule. Also you can get in length ways so must feel less like a coffin.
I used to stay a lot in capsule hotels in the past but last time I tried I became claustrophobic and changed to a normal hotel the next day. I probably wouldn’t feel claustrophobic in this one.
Thanks for the video. Any other soundproofs internet cafe to recommend ? I often travel to Japan for road trip, it would save so much my budget 😊
It's so different from Vietnam's Internet cafes. In Vietnam, there isn't a private room, there is a public room with a lot of computers and a lot of people that are serried.
If you are in Vietnam's Internet cafe, you may hear the scream of others, including "The buffalo youngs". =)))
XD
I wanna try that though😉
@@みどりのたぬき-g3f What he means is that the teenagers sit in a public computer facility, and often curse profanely at the games. they are called "young buffaloes(trẻ trâu)"

That is really cool. Wish we had something like that here in the states.
Excellent watching experience, it was like I was right there with you
Quite relaxing ASMR
The only thing that worries me is the insecure door, which is more of a lockable curtain than a door. Other than that, it's really cool.
Wow... super duper murah ini mah. Di kita bisa 2x lipat kalau fasilitasnya begini. Itu all in loh. 😮
Of course I could be wrong but this just seems like a reasonably affordable way to have a roof over your head in lieu of renting an apartment. I love this idea because it means you’re untethered.
Free food drink and internet too
These are all good perks. Plus you can wash your own clothing and have access to hygienic facilities.
25 bux a day for a pod is "reasonably affordable"? That's a normal apartment cost.
@@F_Yale where u renting for $175 per week?

These videos encompass everything western society is not. Quiet, respectful and affordable.
Give it a day or two and everything would be broken and stolen. It's impossible for the people there to not act like a Monkey for a minute.
@@Waaaltz_ The sad truth. Different culture, different mindsets. Probably will only work in Japan and some Asian countries. In the west, fuggggittttabouittt.

Dei Like e me escrevi.
Another interesting video. I look forward to viewing more.
Thankyou

I want to try a capsule hotel someday. A love hotel, too. Despite the name, you get a lot of amenities and they're still cheaper than US hotels. Basically good for couples (I'm married) whereas with a capsule hotel, a couple has to get individual ones, on separate floors.
It's amazing how far one can seem to get in Japan without knowing the language. A lot is in English and a lot more is in romanji, so you could wing it, and knowing a little konnichiwa, sumimasen, and arigatou go a long way from what I've heard.
