I ordered this 50# draw weight bow after having the opportunity to test several ashs on our course. I immediately exchanged the original string for a 10-strand Whisper String from Bodnik, into which I screwed silencers (although they are actually not necessary). But the tendon stops faster and does not vibrate. On the back of the bow I sanded the edges very slightly round. I also cut a small cut-out for the base joint of the thumb, as well as the long pointed tips down to the bare minimum, so that the hand shock is felt much less due to the lighter bow ends. An excellent bow for the price, with a very high spine tolerance - arrows between 400 and 700 all come out perfectly.
Nice summary. I'm looking at either this one or the cousin "Beli". This is pretty much the same but with a different wood type... For the money, around €135,- it's a steal I guess... I'm Currently shooting the Bryon Short 45# limbs with Spine 500 31"arrows and that's a nice bow too. A bit loud though... Hoping this is much quieter.
Still loving the samick sage i got from you guys, very well made bow. I like this but not sure about not being able to change lb, but i guess for me a 45lb would sit in the middle of poundage i do use. Need to get more arrows and more my fit, and some string wax. Must say i couldn't recommend this company enough, very helpful staff. Happy festive holidays ✌️🎄✨️
Awesome video mate. And gorgeus bow I got ptsd and anxiety so for me archery is meditation and relaxation. Ive in a bow club and loaning gear now. But am out of work so cant afford my own gear i dream of having a good recurve bow and target so i can shoot everyday would help me a lot both with the ptsd/anxiety and getting in better shape.

Good to hear you enjoying it. It's a very addictive sport is archery. Feel free to contact us when you are in the market for new kids bow - we'll be happy to find you something to suit
Just getting into archery and looking for a good starter. I’ve been looking on your website at the Oakridge Mezzo. Any chance you plan on doing a video for it??
The Mezzo is superb. It's so light and pack a real punch. It's a great bow for shooting over long periods. We will do a video review on it soon so keep your eyes peeled
Greetings from Australia. Nice bow. I just bought an Oak Ridge Viridian take down recurve and awaiting delivery. I have only heard of Oak Ridge recently. What can you tell me about this company?
Hi Gilan, thanks for your kind reply. And greetings from the UK:-) Oakridge makes some excellent bows, and they're great value for money. We've sold many Oakridge's bows over the years and the folk who've bought them have been really happy with them. The Viridian is a great beginner bow. Basically, it's a Samick Sage with a different logo on. We have both the Sage and the Viridian in our shop and they look and appear identical minus the logos. Hope that helps.
We're taking online and telephone orders/advice. But our physical shop is closed at present. We will be opening again soon, we'll announce when on our facebook. Please feel free to call us on 01282 425 967 for more details about when we'll be open. Cheers
ZephrusPrime - Yes they are identical bows "Galaxy" is the trade name for Oakridge in the US market as Oakridge was a trademarked name for another company in the USA. Galaxy do seem to have a wider variety of Black Ridge style Longbows than we do unfortunately.
I want to buy this bow first. can you recommend it to me? Is good ? 35 lb will be ok? I'm physically fit .. it shoots from this hybrid bow as well as from typical recurve bow ? thank you.
Hi Doug, You are correct it not a recurve. The guy who uploads our videos and creates our images has gotten that wrong. I'll tell him to change it when he gets a chance. He's just an IT guy and not that knowledgeable about archery. Best,
Very good value for that price! Great bow!
I bought one of these from Phoenix and I chuffin' love it. Really natural and controlled feeling. Crazy how cheap this thing is. Thanks Mark.
I bought a 35lb one and it's brilliant. Best £120 i ever spent.

It's upside down in the picture. You know that , right ?
Is this the same as the Galaxy Black Ridge bow?
Hi Zephrus. I'm sorry but I've not shot the Galaxy Ridge, nor do we currently stock it, so I can't comment.

How Much are those arrows mentioned in video
What weight was the arrow you were shooting?
good question, a chronograph test without knowing the arrow GPP is not very usefull..
Do I spy a British Apollo steel bow behind you, on the wall?
With a sight, no less!
