This needs more recognition. I came across this song from a spotify playlist and the moment i heard the beginning of the song i fell in love with it. It has such a calming and soothing vibe to it. The strings arrangements alongside his voice is just perfect. I absolutely love this song!
Same here - hit me like a hammer. I INHALED all of his music on Spotify. Hands down one of my absolute favorite musicians. Should do a tour with ANATHEMA, that would be an absolute DREAM package.
For the last six months I've been suffering from panic attacks, depression and apparently also from a deep and hidden trauma (which became PTSD). This song is one of those few which helped me (and continue to do so) and provided me with a small measure of peace. So... Thank you.
I played this on repeat during my pregnancy, and now my baby visibly relaxes when I play it to her. I sometimes sing it to her as she's falling asleep. Thank you for the beautiful lullaby (although it's so much more than that) ❤️
there is something very deeply powerful, I can't really explain it but your music goes through me, filled me, transports me, thank you, I felt in love with your music the first seconds I heard it Switzerland loves it
Cold light of the stars the same A flag drew a line in the wind If I was awake there's a world that I left Never far behind From the time that I spent on the Arctic ice One moon has a name Only one to a dream evolved And in the night she's ashamed Tell her drive through a darkened sea Below, beyond the world How deep does the water go? Cold trail of the last descent Across held a sign in the wind And time fell away With the sound of each step If the stars align then For us they were meant in the lunar sky That moon has a name In the fires of a silver corpse And on the ice I'm afraid Of the drop through a darkened sea Below, beyond the world How deep does the water go?
“When you get to the end of all the light you know, and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.'' ~ Edward Teller
Very few artists make me wanna stop everything I'm doing and just listen to their music as the only thing to do, and not just play it as background music. He definetely manages to do it. lying down with my headphones on, no light and eyes closed must be on of my favourite hobbies ever. And if it's cold outside I can die as a happy woman
Tbm ocorreu comigo... Uma.simples indicação do algoritmo do Spotify pra Ollala... E assim, comecei a me encantar com as magníficas obras desse artista!
Listening to this song live last Saturday must have been one of the most mesmerizing experiences of my life. The whole concert in Rio was beautiful! Thank you guys so much for coming! Much love from Brazil!
Can’t begin to tell you how this song moves me. I feel like this is a song that has appeared in my dreams, yet to only be a real song that resonates so loudly in my mind.
I listened to this yesterday, looking at the Blue Moon on Hallow’s Eve. The moon was so bright, shedding light on the golden autumn leaves in the park where I was walking. I passed an eerily empty playground and stopped at a bridge, hearing the river from afar, the fragrances of autumn in my nose and this song in my ears on repeat. It was a transcendental experience, so peaceful and void of anything threatening. the closest to magic I could ever get.
Kudos also to the songwriter - Joshua James Edwards. The lyrics are poetic genius that is poignant of the passing of the moon - a reminder of impermanence. But the question remains, “How deep does the water go? Below, beyond the world”. Combined by the haunting vocals and ethereal arrangements, makes this piece something that is worth treasuring and playing many times over.
When I heard this overwhelming song on the radio for the first time 2 years ago, I had just woken up, it was a Sunday morning, tears immediately came to my eyes. I had a real fit of tears because of the positive inner shock. Since I didn't know the name of the artist, I asked Saarländischer Rundfunk to tell me the name. I received an immediate response via email. Then I immediately watched the corresponding video. I'm so fascinated by the timbre that lies in this voice, if your heart doesn't open up, you must be dead in my opinion! What a tremendous emotional power. Having a voice like that is a gift from God. Thank you dear Blanco White, for allowing us to listen to this magical voice.
this artist comes and touch my soul to the core, it came to me when i lost taste and inspiration for music, it was a bit like dying. and there comes hope again! not so easy finding artist like this, delivering from such a wholesome place. nourrishing.
Blanco White is the music I've turned to when I'm anxious, especially during pregnancy again. This writer understands what it is to feel deeply. Beautiful lyrics, composition and voice. Thanks.
I love the mixture of elements that you use to create such a "nocturnal" environment like this one. I can feel a slight scent shoegaze here. It reminds me a little of the most environmental and psychedelic facet of Gustavo Cerati. You can hear perfectly the Andean aura that keeps, the mountainous air. Your music is powerful and healing. I hear you from Argentina
Your voice... LOVE it! #BlancoWhite This is my 2nd favorite song from you. The first one I fell in love with was, We Know Who UR. ♥😊🎶I listen to both before going to sleep, and getting ready in the morning. I'm going to start playing my violin along with them.
You're an amazing artist! So happy that I was able to listen to your songs! This song is a masterpiece, it is actually the only thing that makes me sleep and ease my mind. Chapeau!

Lyrics : Cold light of the stars the same A flag drew a whine in the wind If I was awake there's a world that I left Never far behind From the time that I spent on the Arctic ice One moon has a name Only one to a dream But in the night she's ashamed Till her drive to the darken sea below beyond the way How deep does the water go? Cold trail of the last descent Across held a sign in the wind And time fell away With the sound of each step If the stars align then For us they were meant in the lunar sky That moon has a name In the fires of a silver corpse And only I seem afraid Of a drop through a dark And see below beyond the world How deep does the water go?

Not quite though
Isn’t it “flag drew a line in the wind”?
Cold light of the stars’ descent
A flag drew a line in the wind
If I was awake there’s a world that I left
Never far behind from the time that I spent on the arctic ice
One moon has a name
