At 9000 rps that engine truly wakes up to the point the back-wheel starts to squirm. But the Dunlop Roadsport II are actually good tyres. Ride em 4000 miles in all kind of bad rainfall. Roadsport 1 tyres on the Z800 was dangerous with lots of traction issues. What makes z900 great bike is the smoothness and its progressive nature. And that intake noise is so fun to listen to when riding.
Great review! Getting another bike and from all my research and reviews like yours, I will probably will get the Z900. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the bike.
It’s not as ez as a 650 😂 I have the 2020 900 and I drove my friend’s 2021 650 and there’s definitely difference. But you’re def right bout outgrowing 650 fast
I purchased a 2020 z650 with 100 miles as my learner bike. I can sell it for a profit as I got a very good deal on it. Considering jumping on the z900 if I can find the right deal. I can start on rain mode and work my way up. Thoughts?

you need to get that break in done. you baby those gears worse than I did. haha. I have the same bike and color, it's got torque everywhere. My fun rides are 100-150 miles, so for comfort, the bike does very well.
I was thinking the same thing about babying the gears. I looked down and saw 40 mph in 6th gear and was thinking he was gonna stall soon lol Planning on getting the 2021 model in black and red. Sick bike.
Been watching few of yours videos since yesterday and I currently own a cb650r no complaints at all is absolutely more than enough for any normal person and I am kind of a "Honda-guy" but if for any reason I eventually get the tickle to buy another motorcycle I am considering this one as the only available option now all others are fugly or dont trust their reliability... Hai, Good informative video, Just observed or seems 0:02 like you were leaning too much forward too grab the handle bars.. Does this effect your arms or shoulder during long rides.. ?
Good question, and the answer is no, last weekend I rode 3 hours and I was very comfortable the entire time, when compared to a traditional sport motorcycle position with clip-ons
Hi Sunil the old z800 have alot steeper angle over the handlebars. New Z900 is semi upright and you get no weight on hands and arms. At acceleration or +90km/h you need to lean forward to brace against the wind and acceleration slightly. I done 900 kilometer or 560 miles on one day and only caused num butt. It took about about 12 hours to ride with some rest stops along the way. So you can certainly do long tours on new Z900. I sold my Z800 brand new because seating position was causing wrist pain.
