      When God states God has not given us a spirit of fear; that is the afraid kind of fear, like when we sin and we want to hide it. But when God says we should FEAR Him; that is reverent respect, such as taking Him at precisely what He states, so we CAN follow Him precisely and achieve understanding. Unfortunately these two kinds of fear (two different words) are both translated into the same English word. Have a Great Day!

      Once the “fear of the Lord” was explained to me in a really great way. When you go to the ocean and read a sign that says “Fear: Sharks” it’s not meaning to be scared of sharks but to watch out for them, look out for them, have reverence for them, to beware them, be wary of, or consider them.. That’s the same with fearing the Lord!

      This came up in a Sunday school lesson I was teaching. It is more of a respect for God's commandments. It is also about humility and submissiveness to God's will. In past decades people would ask me if I was a God fearing person. Fear is not part of the term. It is about belief and being a follower.

    As someone who waited for marriage, I can encourage you all and say it is 100% and worth it. My husband and I were both each other’s firsts and God has blessed us immensely. We were high school sweethearts and got married at the end of college 13 years ago. So yes ladies & gents, it IS possible! We got made fun of but we knew we were doing it for the Lord and for each other so it didn’t matter!

      Can I have some advice on what you all did when you were tempted? My boyfriend and I are abstaining from sex.

    • @GK_22
      @GK_22 5 месяцев назад

      @@stephaniezacharias i can share my own experience. When the temptation comes specially when it’s so strong it makes things really hard not to fall into it. At these moments I tell myself “do you want to have a small pleasure now and lose eternity or I want to be with Jesus in eternity?” It’s really hard in that moment but I tell myself this is a fight worth fighting for and I will not fall into the temptation and make the devil our enemy win. So this is from mentality perspective and try to shift your brain focus in that moment and make yourself busy in something else so that the sex thoughts gets less. However, the main main thing to really kill it overtime and have the real control on your body is by praying and fasting specially if you can fast for a full day on water only and dedicate it to your sins and lust and all these temptations and ask Jesus to support you in that and submit yourself to him and pray on that day. And try to repeat the fasting and prayers weekly if you can on Friday specially. Trust me over time you will see a transformation like a miracle. This is what happened with me and I used to struggle a lot with lust and temptation and fall short to it every time until I started doing the above specially fasting on water with prayers from the heart like the rosary.

    • @deepwaterbluesky
      @deepwaterbluesky 5 месяцев назад +59

      @@stephaniezachariasI was never once tempted to have sex before marriage and neither was he. We knew the implications and I was too scared to find out what would happen. Plus I was scared I would get pregnant out of wedlock so it just was never a temptation, if that makes sense.
      Now we were tempted to push the envelope and we did sometimes , thankfully it wasn’t much BUT if we ever overstepped we were always convicted. We were very young so we didn’t do much besides seek mentor help! But now my advice would be pray pray and more prayer! Being filled with the Spirit is the best way to avoid giving into temptation. Remember being tempted is not a sin in itself! It’s what you do with that temptation. We always just looked forward to the blessings we would receive and that kept us going!
      Also I just want to say how admirable and mature this is if you guys! You’re doing great.

      @@DrewbaccaStarWars I am a 25yo female virgin 😅. I also am a bartender, used to go to the club and everything. But the most I have done is have a guy hug and kiss me-I didn’t kiss him back and it was also only on the cheek. I have also had a guy touch my hand, waist and lower back. And I have also let a male physiotherapist touch my leg, but I didn’t like it and therefore regretted it.

      Not proud of that last one, but it is what it is and it could’ve been way worse.😅
      I wasn’t Christian before, but now I am and I am keeping myself for God. The reason why I stayed a virgin before I was 24 when I became a Christian was just that I hadn’t met anyone I felt comfortable with/liked enough to have sex with. Also, I am a model, so I don’t look that bad. So I’m sure there are many attractive women your age who are a virgin or close enough to it, planning to wait for God when they do get into a relationship 😊👍🏾

      I agree, but it is a little to late for these 2 women. To become chaste at the age of 26-27 and 34-35 is not really possible. They still have a history and with those looks, one can only assume it has been very busy. Research shows after 12 partners women can no longer bond with a man.

    • @camillefaith2005
      @camillefaith2005 3 месяца назад +20

      @@GoodVideos-ry5ie I think you'd need to cite your sources on that one. Where man says it's too late, Jesus says "Better late than never". You are not God. Only he has the authority. He washes our slates clean. What you are saying is not found in the bible anywhere. By saying that it's too late for someone to repent you are missing the ENTIRE point of the gospel. And I highly suspect that the only reason you say this is because they are two beautiful women. If it was two handsome men sitting here talking about the same topic I don't think you would have this much to say.

    • @GoodVideos-ry5ie
      @GoodVideos-ry5ie 3 месяца назад

      @@camillefaith2005 God has nothing to do with it. It is simple biology. We all rate ourselves to our previous partners. So if I use to date 5s, then I will expect the next partner to be that, if not then I will be settling with somebody I don't want. A 30 year old man on average may have had 5 past partners, a woman on the other hand at 30 has had on average 50 (these women were not Christian in the past). Sexual Market Value is not the same for men and women. Most of the men, a 30 year old woman has been in a situationship with, will have had much higher SMV than her. Men will date for sex, even sex with much lower valued women. Sexual interest is NOT marriage interest. Unfortunately, this means she now believes, let say she being a 5 deserves a 9, a guy who she in her past may have had only a short sexual encounter with. A 9 is never going to give her commitment though. To add insult to injury, most women rate themselves at least 2 points higher than they actually are (a 5 thinks she is a 7) and they rate men 2 points lower than they actually are (a 5 is a 3 in her eyes).

    My testimony, my boyfriend and I had our daughter 3.5 years ago at 3 years in our relationship. As we’ve gotten closer to God in October 2023 I decided to be abstinent until marriage. Yes, it’s been hard and the question is “why? You already have a child together” the answer has been just because we have a child but know it’s a sin doesn’t give it a reason to continue in it. Was I scared to lose my partner? Yes. But I’m more scared to lose my relationship with God more. Praying for you ladies out there and myself to wait before marriage. ❤

      I only have really one friend from
      Church but she’s introducing me to people. I think I should just try to dive in more. I am starting a class as well. Following Christ is life changing but it’s like since I’ve gotten baptized so much around me is clearly a sin and I’m struggling to discern “just having a good time with coworkers or relatives” from sin. I wasn’t even planning on drinking and now I really know I must stop. I make it sound like I’m an alcoholic. I am not I’m 24 and my bfs family likes to party a bit.. so naturally every now and then we drink with them. Now I have to start really being intentional with my time because I am devoted to Christ and don’t want to be tricked into living apart of the world. Please pray for our guidance and we will be too!

    I loved this episode!! My story - I was dating my now husband and we were intimate and kind of spoke about being abstinent until marriage but hadn’t changed anything. Then one day after being intimate we fell asleep and I had a dream that people had been watching us be intimate and I was so ashamed and embarrassed and exposed. I woke up and told him the dream. And he said that’s Jesus watching us and speaking to you. He said he’s been wanting to ask me if we could try to be abstinent until marriage that he loves me so much and wants to do this the right way. From that day on we were abstinent and it brought us closer than ever and way more than any relationship I had ever been in. There was still romance and physical touch. We’re now married and I’m so happy we decided to stop and honor God and wait until marriage ❤️

      @Kat-dw5xk Hi there, can I ask you something?
      My bf and I knew early on in our relationship that we'd be together and we were made for eachother and will one day marry. I laid my rules towards him from the start as I was in a sexually immoral relationship before him and got my heart broken when it all went down hill.
      For atleast a year and a half I felt shame and sadness I couldnt forgive myself eventhough I heard God say he has already forgiven me and that is when I read a verse in the bible about forgiveness and it saying that God has already forgiven us however we also need to forgive ourselves so we can be set free and move forward/on (that is what the verse basically said).
      However, after my three years of healing God brought me my future husband as I said before I laid my rules for him about how I feel and about sexual immorality and how that made me feel (he freaked out he eventually calmed down tho after a day when he told me he was all in) I was overjoyed I couldnt ask for anything better.
      But after a while he started asking me when we'd be alone and if we were ever gonna be alone I didnt know (he freaked out again and this time it was for a long while) he kept on asking me and I didnt really have an answer for him until this one day my parents told him he could stay they joked about him sleeping with me in the same bed and everything
      (my parents especially my mother how do I say "encourages" me to be a bit more liberal and that having sex before marriage is a necessity as they had me before marriage but got married and their marriage has been a roller coaster ride I would say. Also my brothers also has trouble with temptation and often encourages it as one of them knows him it hits both of us. My close family knows of Christ but I fear they still have much to go.
      Anyways I freaked out and with also the question if he was going to be with us for my mothers birthday cruise I was hesitant as I never wouldve liked being alone with him at that time and just the thought made me uneasy and convicted.
      Though we talked about it, we still fell into temptation or atleast I did he at that time did not know about sexual immorality however I did. Every once in a while I beat myself up for doing such an act because of some of the things he says which in all he doesnt really know that much of the Bible we do read it together every other day, and Ive also sent him some messages about us getting married though he says "we can if that will make you comfortable" but the next parts he wont be able to do it.
      I keep trying to convince myself that we are already married in Gods eyes as when you lay with your partner you and him become one, tho recently I have been doubting and having convictions about our actions eventhough it makes me laugh and completely and utterly vulnerable with him everytime we do this act just like Ari said in the beginning it makes me feel loved and more closer to him.
      I honestly don't know what I am going to do because a part of me wants to stop this but there is this other part of me that is already convinced we have wed and even though he calls me his wife and I husband it is troubling to say the least. As Ik that our relationship can be stronger and I always have told him I want a life centered in Christ but when I come to think about it it is not truly centered.
      Listen I know my mistakes and trust me I beat myself up on the regular for falling into sin.
      Truly, now that you have some back story, my question is, how did you battle with temptation and how did you bring it up to him that you didnt feel ok with having premarital sex? Before the dream that is.
      As I am a forward kind of person not much of a story teller I feel like I would blurt it out to him and it would be too heavy and he would freak out once more.

    It’s also good to know that if you lose your virginity before marriage, it doesn’t make you less valuable. I had made a promise to God to abstain from sex until marriage when I was younger, and I broke it. I lost my identity and thought God didn’t see me the same. I carried so much shame for so long, but God loves and forgives us. I fell in a really big pit when that happened and I don’t want anyone to experience what I felt. You are still worthy and He will always love you. But it is a beautiful gift to wait for marriage.

      I agree. We are saved by grace and the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary. However I think women particularly have issues with their sexual past. I am reminded of John 8, where Jesus is asked to condemn the adulteress. He rebukes the accusers, however forgives the woman, saying go and sin no more. Jesus could have shamed and stigmatized her for her sexual sins. He simply told her not to re-offend.

My husband and I were intimate before marriage. We felt shamed and were encouraged by our church to repent and give it up. We did, and we grew closer together in the 8 months than ever before. I was raised in a strong religious home and church. Got to college at 19, dating a girl from church, and got super active with her. After we broke up a year later I went crazy with girls. After two years of backsliding God woke me up. One late night getting home from a booty call an angel visited me in my room. Saw it plain as day. It didn't day anything, dressed in white robes and praying hands with a subliminal message saying "COME BACK TO ME." It faded into the dark corner and I immediately knelt by my bed and asked for forgiveness. I got right for the most part. At 22 I met my to be wife. At 24 we got married. God blessed me. Just had our 20yr anniversary. All has been great! It started with asking forgiveness for leaving God. He blessed me for coming back.

I agree with the other commenter about Angels not being female/women. The scripture in the Bible does not mention female Angels. But I would take that a step further and say that although named with male names, it would seem Angels are neither male or female but all spirit. Also, we have to be careful to discern if an Angel visits is if it is from the dark side because we know that the dark realm can mask itself to look like it comes from God. In this case even if you were tricked it backfired and you went to the one true God! Amen! 🙏🏼😇

    I’ve never had sex but I was addicted to porn for years. Praise God for freeing me in December 2022. I find it hard to talk about sometimes because of shame but I want to share so others can feel comfortable as well. I got introduced in elementary school by a guy I let use my phone. So around 7th grade. I was addicted until I was 25. I got saved Feb 2023 and prayed to God to free me and he has. I hadn’t felt the need to do it since.
    God set me free when I had been trying to stop for years. That part in the Bible where Paul says I was doing things I didn’t want to do. That was me. Sexual sin is still sin, whether you are a virgin or not I can say that porn messed up so much of me and God has truly healed me. I payed the most fervent prayer that night and I felt God pull the spirits out of me. I let it physically and I’ll never forget it.
    By his stripes we are healed. And in Christ we are made new !
    Just wanted to share for anyone feeling shame or even going through what I went through.

      I've been addicted for 7 years and I was praying everyday for over 2 years so the God would help me with this disgusting addiction and I even asked many people to pray for me but nothing changed if not even got worse. I knew how it's destroying my life and I saw that I feel no power to change it and I tried literally EVERYTHING you could ever find on the internet so I gave up on trying to quit...
      I don't want to wait till marriage because I know that if I had a girlfriend and had sex I would absolutely not do it again and even if it is considered 'a sin' I couldn't believe that having sex with a girl who you genuinely love is as bad as watching naked hoes on the internet which is fully filled with lust unlike sex with your loved partner

    Talking about sexual immorality is something really difficult to talk about. And is something hard to surrender to the Lord. So I admire the courage
    We at different aspects of our lives, live in impurity.
    Some of us are able to surrender to God sexual immorality (good for you), but some of us cannot restrain from having idols, we cannot separate ourselves from addiction with social media, etc. We judge others, we cannot stop our mouths from saying something inappropriate. SO GIVE EACH OTHER GRACE because that is what Jesus does to us.
    While watching this video the Lord spoke to me to give you guys grace because you two are STILL growing. So it's a step-by-step process.
    I always pray to the Lord that He reminds me about His love, faithfulness, mercy, grace, AND JUST character.
    Everything we do has consequences. God does have a WRATH. And so we are called to bear fruit worthy of REPENTANCE.
    And if we truly love Jesus we will obey His commands
    John 14:15 NKJV "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
    I pray for you girls and to all people. We should all help each grow in the love of the Lord and speak the TRUTH. Even if it will hurt you or others

    When y’all started this podcast I stumbled upon it and saw the Holy Spirit in you and was automatically poured into by you guys. I was living with my boyfriend of 3 years at the time but reading the Bible and feeling spiritually wrecked. God used y’all to pour into me even more and eventually I felt so convicted about my sexual sin that I asked God to pull me out of the relationship if that was His will. And he did. It was really hard for me but the freedom I felt actually fully submitting to God and the purity He was calling me to was completely worth it. I’ve watched every episode every week and this one just confirms that God chose y’all so that people like me could grow close to God with you. Our journeys are synced up so perfectly that it feels like y’all are actually some of my closest friends even though we have never even met. The "I dont need you" hit me with so much conviction, and it doesnt just speak to sexual impurity but also everything else in my life that distracts and/or separates me from Jesus. That really brought me to tears and gave me the strength I needed to keep pushing through with the everyday struggles I've been facing. And it's so true! I feel like anything that does not align with Gods Truth and his law ultimately leads you to an ongoing mental war where you will never feel peace in.
